Zira was dumb and irrational. She was obsessed by her revenge against Simba for Scar's death (everyone knows the Real culprits, in the end of the first movie). In the second movie, she didn't think other things than that. She used Kovu, Vitani, and her former pride for her own selfish goals, and that led to her downfall.

Like Scar and the Hyena clan of Shenzi,Banzai and Ed. They don't thought about the disrupt of the Circle of Life they caused for all the years Scar illegimaletilly he ruled the Pride Lands, with the hyenas constantly eat every herd of animals who lived in the Pride Lands. As we saw after Simba returns and defeats Scar, the Pride Lands begin immediately to heal as the rain falls when Simba declares himself the true king at the top of the Pride Rock and occupies his place in the Circle of Life as Mufasa's ghost told him to do it. Also, Zira doesn't think that Scar killed his OWN BROTHER and attemped to kill Simba to ensure his reign.

Same. I think thats also the reason Kion didn't attack Kovu. Sure Kovu went a little away from his pride, but was still close enough to get caught in the roar. When Zira and the others were away, he walked to Kovu, but again didn't attack. Kion knew Kovu was different. Kovu himself choose to go after Zira, but if he wanted, I think Kion was willing to give Kovu a chance to prove himself. He learned his lesson of judging others without prove with Jasiri. Maybe not with the pridelands, seeing how simba was acting, but with the help of Jasiri maybe in the outlands as part of the hyenas.

I always thought that Zira and her pride were a group of lions that arrived at the Pride Lands and formed an alliance with Scar, with whom Zira got a liking to as they shared similar views. When Simba took over, Zira attempted to take over and avenge Scar and that led to their banishment. That was my fan theory.

Why didn’t Scar’s Ghost recruit Zira and the other outlander lionesses for his army in The Lion Guard? I really do think that the simple yet most likely answer is that Scar never gave a rat’s hat about ANY of them, or anyone for that matter. I mean let’s consider several things when the Pridelands were turned into a desolate wasteland by over hunting even the Hyenas were starting to get fed up with Scar’s BS then there’s the scene between him and Sarabi where Scar outright says that he’s fine with letting everyone starve to death not to mention when he blamed his plans on the hyenas in front of Simba saying they were the real enemy I mean who’s to say that he wouldn’t have done the exact same thing to Zira if it suited him?! Yes Zira does tell Kion that she and Scar were “close” but I honestly that’s her over romanticizing their relationship and Scar as a ruler I mean she says to Simba that the outlands that the “outlands have little food and less water” but wasn’t it like that while Scar was king? And plus Scar never even mentions Zira, Kovu or the rest of the Outlander lions to Janija or the rest of his army and lastly Scar had his whole plan to have Kion use the Roar to burn down the Pridelands all while Zira had her plot to have Kovu murder Simba and take over and if Scar’s plan succeeded there’d be literally Nothing left for anyone to rule over ! And also of course there’s Scar betraying Janja and his clan to have them be in the Pridelands when it all burned up. So with all that in mind Scar really just came off like “Yeah if I can’t rule the Pridelands than NO ONE can!” Not even a random “chosen heir” that he supposedly took in and/or a lioness that he was supposedly “close” with (which again I think Zira was completely delusional when it came to Scar.)

I think I’ve figured out Kion’s placement in TLK2 I know he likely wasn’t thought of at the time but the Lion guard is able to retcon him and his story in pretty well for the most part there are hiccups here and there. In the lion guard Kovu mentions seeing Kiara again which means the meeting in TLK2 already happened, but that begs the question why Kion doesn’t know who Zira and her pride are I imagine after that interaction Kiara, Simba, or Nala would’ve told him since Kiara could’ve died. But then I took a look at real lion biology and how that can correlate into this world obviously it’s fictional but they clearly take some inspiration from real lions. Throughout a majority of the Lion guard Kion has spots on his lower body and legs, real life lion cubs have spots that they gradually lose with age, this would explain why Kiara doesn’t have spots in any of her appearances because she’s already grown it of them Kovu and Vitani as well. I think when Kovu and Kiara first met Kion was either too young to remember at that point or he wasn’t even born yet, he was likely hidden away in pride rock or Nala was pregnant with him at the time. Of course that’s just my theory the real reason is just cause Kion wasn’t a thing when the lion king 2 came out.

Actually in The Lion King 2 we see that Simba had a daughter which means the lion guard cannot be Canon or it's at the very least on alternate timeline where Simba has a son and so maybe the stuff that we do learn is true in a way but because it's an alternate timeline some things are different.

Kiara's IN The Lion Guard, and it is considered part of the canon. Lion Guard takes place in between Lion King 2 when Kiara is a cub and a young adult. They explain why Kion isn't in the Pridelands during the fight between the two prides, and explain that he's younger than Kiara, and was born after she meets Kovu.

The way I view it, the outlands are a real force to be reckoned with when united. I see Shenzi’s clan as all the various hyena clans all united under the singular goal of expanding into the pride lands; after Simba returned, the hyena alliance broke up into the smaller groups we see in the lion guard. I think that Simba played a particularly adept game and actually used Zira as a tool. Exiling her directly into the fractured outlands, they’d just further destabilise it and act as a counterbalance to the hyena dominated outlands. Keeping the infighting would prevent them from ever becoming a threat to the pridelands. Backing Jasiri as Queen of the outlands, finally ending the outlands as a threat once and for all.

On paper Zira is a great villain but the problem is that her whole story doesn’t really sink well with the original Lion King film, where there’s absolutely NO backstory given for her and her children for where they came from why exactly are they so loyal to Scar (which doesn’t really make much sense considering Scar’s character in the OG film and how his ghost was portrayed in The Lion Guard) Whereas Morgana in Little Mermaid II Return to the Sea makes a little more sense as her whole thing isn’t so much about avenging her sister Ursula and heck a part of me legit believes that Morgana never had any real beef with King Triton and his family but it was all more about succeeding where her sister failed as Morgana never got over the pain and trauma of Ursula always doing/being better than her and being favored by their mother.

One gripe I have with the Lion King II/Lion Guard scenario is how Simba differentiates in how he treats his kids. Kiara, the elder, is babysat even into young adulthood. Kovu, the younger, is allowed to run the Lion Guard and even go outside the Pridelands, with Simba WELL AWARE of how dangerous that can be. Compounding this is the fact that LIONESSES DO THE HUNTING. Simba has NO reasonable justification for assuming Kiara can't learn to protect herself, and in fact he should have been teaching her LONG before adulthood because she's the next Queen! You can't leave the heir to the throne ignorant and unready to defend herself! I already thought Simba dropped the ball on Kiara long before watching Lion Guard, and the show just increases that. It really hammers in the fact that the biggest enemy to the Pridelands in LKII was Simba's pride- pride as in HUBRIS.

Isaac I always thought Janja and jasiri came from the same clan because in the lion king they were 200 hyenas, that's enough to make 2 clans and because hyenas including jasiri always had shared animosity against the lions I assumed that they had some blood relations and I thought that the lion king wiki said the hyenas in the show we see in general were descendants of shenzis army of hyenas so I naturally thought Janja and jasiris clans originated from the same clan of hyenas. Here's what I was thinking about how the 2 clans were formed so basically the hyenas who survived the battle of priderock escaped to the outlands and they split up into 2 clans why, be cause some hyenas decided to redeem themselves whereas the others decided to maintain their evil ways. The hyenas who redeemed themselves gave birth to Jasiris clan and the hyenas who didn't gave birth to Janjas hence why Janja and jasiris clans were rivals.

Notably the two hyena clans are different species. Jasiri's clan are striped hyenas whereas Janja's clan are spotted hyenas. They aren't native to The Outlands and Simba disrupted the ecosystem by sending them there. The two clans may not have even been aware of each other prior to Scar's defeat.

I always thought one of the reasons Scar didn’t recruit Zira and her faction was because Scar didn't want to draw attention to them from the Pridelanders. Instead, he recruited an army of a handful of weaker factions and manipulated them into thinking they had a shot of taking over the Pridelands (he was a master manipulator in the original movie). In reality, I think Scar knew their odds of succeeding weren't the best and simply wanted to use the Outlanders to weaken Simba's pride, the Lion Gaurd, and the rest of the Pridelanders and to buy Zira's pride time to raise Kovu and prepare their final assault. Its like Issac said: lions are the strongest species in this universe. Why would Scar want to draw Pridelander attention to a faction that would ultimately have the best shot of taking down Simba in the long run?
