This makes sense. Also Zira was the mother of his cubs (Nuka and Vitani) and Scar groomed her, as he attempted to do with Nala as he wanted an heir. I think when Scar chose Kovu as an heir - during the events of the Lion King, Zira was given the task of protecting Kovu alongside her own cubs. Also Kovu was the last born before Simba exiled Zera and the Outlanders and as Kovu and Kira were the same age, I think he was born and exiled just before or around the time Kiara was born.

I believe that Zira and her lionesses showed up during the five years that Simba was exiled. We didn't see much of what happened to the Pridelands during Scar's rule, so this is just one of those things.

I always thought that Zira and her pride were a completely different group of lions who traveled to the Pride Lands during Scar's reign, with whom Zira got a liking to. When Simba took back the throne, Zira and her pride tried to take over and that led to their banishment.

I always felt like she and her pride were actually a different pride that was looking for sanctuary or a place to call home, Scar charmed her and took her pride in and she had to mate with another lion because Scar was too old or something.

Did you know that in a deleted scene from the lion king Simba's pride. Zira finds out Simba had a baby girl and in the deleted scene? kovu was about the same age he was when he first met Kiara. Which means kovu is actually older than kiara.

Besides the main cave (where the king, the queen and co. uses to sleep) also there has the cave that the Lion Guard used to do their meetings. Zira with Nuka and the newborns Vitani and Kovu could had been there while there during the final battle in the end of the first movie.

Interestingly, when Rafiki was telling the story of Zira and her pride to the Lion Guard, Zira and Kovu suddenlly appeared just behind Simba after his proclamation. That may implies that Zira and Kovu (alongside Vitani and Nuka) where in one of pride rock's caves, for them arrive so quickly behind Simba.

The reason I believe Zira was never seen in the the original Lion King film, was because she was apart of another pride before leaving with several lioness before coming across the Pridelands, where Scar accepted her and both began to bond. This bond eventually resulted in the birth of Nuka, which Scar deemed unworthy of an heir, which Scar ordered Zira to find another lion to mate with for a better heir, but to wait until Nuka was of age. After Nuka became of age, a male lion came into the pridelands and mated with Zira resulting in the birth of Vitani, but Scar viewed Vitani as a leader of the Lion Guard and began to tell Zira the stories of how he was the leader of the Lion Guard before losing the roar. After Vitani had come of age, Zira went into another pride, stole the cub that would become Kovu, and Scar had been pleased by her actions, and granted Kovu his heir. When the Pridelands began to fall, Scar told Zira and her followers to follow the animals hurts to feed Nuka, Vitani, and Kovu to keep them from dying, but after Simba became the rightful heir, Zira believed Simba had killed Scar, and making it her life long mission to kill Simba and accomplish Scar’s wish of Kovu being the heir to the throne.

When I was a child watching the 2nd movie I assumed Zira was a lone lioness without a pride. The movie stated Scar isnt Kovus son so I assumed she went to Scar hoping to join a pride and get protection for her cubs. Which is why she questioned Simbas reign so much because she knew was Scar as king not Mufasa. But as an adult I love your theory too.

Personally, I think Zira and her henchlions did not actually originate from the Pride Lands, and only arrived during Scar's reign. This would only explain their loyalty to Scar, but also the Outsider nickname and their looks. Despite what Kiara said, the Outsiders do have differences, such as an angular snout like Scar, long toes vs round ones, darker eye shades, and in some cases, an M-shaped nose, meaning they would be somewhat easy to spot. Not being from the Pride Lands would also be something I think is overlooked, and that's Timon, Pumbaa, and the Pridelanders sharing Simba's distaste and lack of care for the Outsiders. Sure Simba was their king, and the one who made the decision to banish the Outsiders, but he only succeeded because the other lions had no qualms with enforcing it. As, the final battle showed, the Pridelanders had no qualms about obeying Simba's orders, almost as if he stated the Outlanders weren't lion and not to be treated as such. Also, it is possible the Outsiders did fight for Scar. In 1&1/2, the hyenas attempted to follow Simba when he chased after Scar, so who was fighting the lionesses then?

According to a fan made story by a KZbinr named askari zira was born to azola and kuzimu their pride was known to be aggressive and they had leaders instead of a king and queen azola was a good mother but kuzimu wanted a strong daughter and tromitized her daily azula didn't approved of it and secretly consoled her daughter but kuzimu found out and killed her zira eventually got her friends to join her to leave the pride after a while zira got more lionesses to join them thanks to her manipulation and eventually got to the pridelands under scars rule and eventually had nuka with him and got ordered by scar to have a cub with another lion aka vitani and went on to kill kovu's parents allowing her to steal him and presented him to scar eventually zira left to go find more food and found out scar was dead she blamed simba taking her vengeance on his firstborn son kopa and banished her to the outlands and well the rest of the story is the movie

The only thing that makes this unlikely is the lion guard. In the parts where Zira is there, she tells Kion that she was friends with scar when he lead the guard. I want to think Zira was allowed to live in the pridelands for some time due to her love Scar, finding him due to the hyenas. He didn’t love her back but she was in love with him and after attacking Kopa due to Scar’s request, thus exiling her from The Pridelands. She was perfectly fine but became more and more insane due to being impressed by Scars actions. Kopa died after all this.

Honestly can we all just stop pretending that Simba’s Pride is a great sequel? I mean it’s not a terrible film but as a follow up to the original movie it just really doesn’t sink well with all of its plot holes and inconsistencies and poor writing. I mean seriously people criticize the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy for “not having a well thought out story under different writers and directors” yet hardly anybody seems to do the same for not just Simba’s Pride and a lot of the Disney animated sequels but pretty much every other franchise in and out of Disney. And also as much as I love The original Lion King film I really do think that as a franchise…it’s a freaking mess.

I like it but I can’t see it.. For starters, if she’s the same age as Simba and grew up within the pride, then it goes back to the same argument with Nala….who’s her father. She also seems older than Simba for me by a few years but not at the same age as Mufasa and Scar and so probably in between. Most likely, when Simba and Nala were kids at the age we see them majority of the time, Zira was probably at the age adult Kiara was in LK2 when she went off to hunt on her own. So Zira was most likely hunting or just doing background stuff during the LK1. But that’s if she was even apart of the pride from the get go…. There’s a good chance that she joined during the end (ish) of Scars reign. She could have been a good friend of his and maybe joined Scar after her “husband” died? Nuka could have been between the age of young and adult Kiara when he arrived or potentially a bit older (for me, I think Nuka is closer in age to Simba than Zira is to Simba). She would have already been pregnant and maybe as Scar knew her and he former mate, he decided to take her in and allowed her to give birth (goes back to your point, if the male lion of the pride isn’t the father, he’ll simply kill the cubs. So clearly Scar knew her and respected her mate enough to allow the cubs around). This also explains why Scar chose Kovu over Nuka. Nuka was young but maybe not young enough to mould into a future king, Kovu however was. Scar and Zira as well may have not been at the “love” stage until after Kovus birth and so would make more sense to name the cub you’ll hopefully help and watch grow yourself than pretty much a teen who you have no real connection with. Sticking to the point about picking an heir, I wonder if Scar just chose Kovu at complete random and from that Zira (maybe idolising Scar) took that as a sign he loves her?? Just seems to me that Scar was getting on a bit and knew he needed an heir but didn’t have a mate to have cubs with for whatever reason, so picked Kovu probably knowing he’d die before Kovu would become old enough to be king and may not have felt threatened by Nuka and so never worried about him dethroning scar? (I never watched the Lion Guard so my points may have been disproved by the show lol).
