One of the things I love about this song is so subtle I barely noticed. Every time they seem to say that her delusional state has come back, that’s when she ‘flirts’ with the doctor. Whenever they say her delusions have gotten better, she treats him like one would their doctor. Anyways, great art! I really love these characters, and your skill amazes me.

Yeah the “use may be fatal” is something very haunting honestly way to many *necessary* medications. I wish less medicine had that as a possibility. To those asking why it was weird when she said "I dont feel anything" and he said "Patient Stable" Bi-Polar Depression symptoms are: - Dramatic Highs and Lows in split seconds of Emotion. - Random Emotions for no other reason beside your brain deciding to do it. - Manic Episodes and over exagerated behavior when in Public places, similar to a anxiety attack. - Manic Behavior, high or low. --- Those are a few of them, I know because I have Bi Polar Depression. When they put us on medicine, Seraquil, Depakote, Zanics.... They are trying to in a sense make us feel nothing, have a emotions constantly be at an even stance. People who are Bi-Polar Depressed, can not drive unless with someone else... Most times when younger rely heavily on help to stablize themselves, some abuse there drugs to make themselves calm and its usually us who end up in Mental Institutions... So for us to say "I feel nothing" in a sense... Our pychologist could consider that stable, stable emotions and calm behavior. We can control our emotions correctly and think more clearly... Its horrible and scary being Bi-Polar Depressed, you lose so many peopled because you physically, emotionally and mentally can not control yourself when your manic; we NEED to have some trigger word that sets us to relax but sometimes it doesn't work. Like with my family its "Lets go take a walk." from my mom and "Purple Pandas" with the rest. But when your stable in the eyes of your psychologist... Your not yourself which is worse. EDIT: I just noticed how many likes I have, wow thanks for all the likes and comments. I'm glad most all of you understand and relate its horrible... Its truly horrible. A year later from this comment (5 since diagnosed) and I'm still not "stable". I take seroquel (Thanks bumblebee) 500ml and it just.... I don't know if any medicine can truly work.

As a personal note to anyone afraid of treatment for mental illnesses: my mother struggled with the exact same illness mentioned in the song, bipolar depression with delusions. She was suicidal and it was one of the scariest times of my life. Medication saved her life, and years later it gave me mine back too. There are wonderful medical health professionals who will listen to you and help you find what works. The first medicine I tried greatly alleviated my anxiety and depressive symptoms so I could focus on loving myself and becoming confident. It's the most free to be myself I've ever been, and my only side effect is that I get sleepy after 11:30 PM (fixed my sleep schedule anyway so I'm pleased with it tbh). Even without medication, there are plenty of treatment options. My therapist has been such a help that I've invited her to my high school graduation next week--something I never thought I'd live to attend. There really, honest to god is a better life out there. I'm always up to talk more about my experiences too if anyone needs it.

Sarah K. Congratulations on your graduation! Thank you for this, I'm glad that you could properly explain that sometimes medicine and therapy really do help. I have bipolar disorder and severe generalised anxiety and the medicine really does help, but I know everyone's different.

Hi! I know it's been a long time and my problems may differ from yours, but I need to discuss this with someone. I was recommended to see a doctor to pick up sedatives or antidepressants, but my mother is skeptical about this and believes that therapy from a psychologist and physical activity is enough. Can medications really help? Should I try to discuss this with my parents if I don't really trust them?
@brysonlambes7175 Жыл бұрын
I do think that's ultimately the point of the show. This song shows the holding pattern the family has been in for a long, and ultimately they change it up, try a new treatment, and diane decides to try therapy rather than medication.

"They say Love is blind...but believe me Love is *INSANE* " that's a deep line and show how much he cared for her, you guys hear all about the sex but he's regretting the life before when they were young and had everything under control, when she was full of life and wasn't a nerve wreck. The future they planned wasn't this. When you hear the "sides effects" of the medicines it means everything she suffer: sexual dysfunction , nightmares, Diarrhea, nervous laughter, Anxiousness, anger, exhaustion, insomnia, irritability, nausea, vomiting.. etc. He is going through it too Think your loved one had mood swings. that some days he/she laugh without reasons and next day is irritable. Think some days he/she say to you to stay away and then had sexual needs and think about someone else. Think he/she is so sick some days you have to stay with him/her and take care of his/her needs while some other times it get angry without reasons and treat you like garbage. For example Her line about Her husband being in the car is to reinforce what she wrongly think that he is *uninterested* in her because he didn't accompany her inside and sit next to her (She talking about the same guy who each day make sacrifices and take her to the phsycopharmacologist) And Hestill stay with her. While putting the blame on himself for picking this girl. "I was so young...and so DUMB... and now I'm old" saying he choose with the heart and stick with her in her time of need but time had taken his toll. He is tired of the whole situation. the "Who's crazy?" song is his breaking point.

I was waiting for someone to bring up this line. A lot of Bipolar disorder drugs do this to people. Because it deals with such extreme mania and depressive episodes, the medicine tries to bring them to a "stable". It's one of the big problems with these kinds of drugs and why a lot of people with bipolar disorder won't take their meds, they feel like it's taking away apart of themselves. Obviously everyone's different but for a lot of people that's the case and it really sucks, I just love that they added that and pointed it out.

You know i was once in the mystic messenger fandom and I loved it but one thing i don't like is having my original characters being compared to other characters whether it's made from a popular otome game, anime or anything else. it makes me feel like i'm not creative. And it's upsetting cause i made these oc's 7 years ago. Wayyyy before the game was even a sparkle in the creators eyes... I don't mean to be so upset about it. I'm just tired that most comments are just about that. Not only with me but don't compare ANYONE'S oc's to another character. It will make the artist feel bad about their oc and make them not want to draw more, or make them feel as though they are uncreative..

When you're in deep depression you feel nothing, but it's a different type of nothing. It's incredibly deep sorrow. She legit doesn't have the energy to feel, like she's not sad or upset, but she isn't excited or shiny. She's walking through life and she sees stuff and shes there, but her feelings or like someone not being able to have an opinion about a certain topic. Her body and mind are pretty much confused. And as long as she's not in a deep state of depression it means the pills are working. I kinda hope that made sense.

Chris Porter I mean, I say it because I've been there, not necessarily numb and feeling sad but just... barely there at all, just existing and not feeling much of anything, feels tiring but that's about as much as you get to feel. Like, you feel absent in a way, not really there, so I just say it in my experience at least. I hope this doesn't come across as mean or anything, that's not my intention so I apologize if it feels that way
@ChrisPorterEggie7 жыл бұрын
No, no. Not at all. I understand you. I think people feel it differently. I described it how i felt it. I've been dealing with depression so I understand ^^ I think it's because she has the feeling of being just there it's hard to think. Sometimes hard to process the things around you and unlike depression you think too much sometimes. Like happy pills (anti-depressions) Are made to try to balance the serotonin. Ah idk it's extremely hard to explain ;v;;. But i do get where your coming from. I just think she too had a hard time explaining it and that's the best way she could possibly put it.

Its common that when you get on meds that are incorrect or wrong dosage, that you feel NOTHING. you dont feel anxious, dont feel sad. but you also dont feel excited or happy anymore. I spent my entire middle school years in a hazy numbness of any feelings before I went to a new doctor and saw I was on way too high of dosage that made me a zombie. The sad truth is that so many doctors think that its better to be a zombie or a shell of a person than being depressed or anxious So when she says "I feel nothing", shes not speaking of depression, shes talking about how the meds have changed the chemicals in her brain to make a her a hazy zombie, therefore shes 'stable'

The ending is sad but true... That can be how it is with psychologists and patients.. Patient is medicated, ends up not feeling like themselves or feeling nothing at all and the doctor declares them stabilized Meanwhile loved ones try their best to be supportive but can only watch as you become a hallow shell of your former self... Thank the gods my husband told me that when I took my meds I wasn't myself and we had my dosage lowered otherwise I would still be taking the same dose that made me feel well... Nothing

Because she is neutral. As long as she doesn't feel sad, it means the pills are working. But in some cases with pills it drains you and it's hard to feel anything. So your kinda just in a daze going through life. As long as your not in a state of depression it's good for them. So her having balanced feelings/none means shes on a clean slate. I hope that makes some sense ^^

My only critiques is how huge the inside of the car is at certain angles such as how far Poseidon is from the steering wheel at 0:45 as opposed to 4:28 where he can easily reach it, and then how he is sitting in the driver's seat, but then his positioning at 3:50. Overall this is probably one of my favourite animatics featuring great imagery and expression but I find just the positioning a little awkward. Awesome job!!!!

This. Fucking. Song. This animatic is just beautiful. I feel for Dan so much. I was (and still am, to a much lesser degree) in his shoes. Mental illnesses of a loved one, especially significant other, really drie you down dark places you only visit in nightmares.His suffering here is only a sliver of the emotions he expresses at the end in I Am The One (Reprise). If Gabe represents mental illness and appears to those who actively acknowledge their illness, then it only makes sense that Dan has acknowledged and is ready to deal with his problems when Gabe appears to him. "I am the one who watched while you die." I thought I saw the mental illness in my loved ones die out as they got "better", but in reality, the mental illness watched me as I died inside, just trying to cope on a daily basis. This has been my life for the past 5 or so years. I'm nearing my 21st birthday. It's utter bullshit that we have to suffer like this, either first or secondhand. I'm just rambling at this point, this musical is a work of utter genius and this animatic is one of the most beautiful things I've seen, thanks for giving me a good cry :')

She feels sad because she can only go to her psycho-pharmacologist for emotional comfort. Her husband only thinks about when she was "young and brilliant and bold", but now that things are hard he wants to opt out. All he needs to do is listen to her more and she needs to understand how she's causing him pain and they can both have a happy marriage still. Sure she will still need her psychopharm--but damn they need couples counseling like for real.

If you watch the musical youd understand it isn't anything like that. The husband just wants her to get better and to stop pretending their son is alive because its emotionally destroying both him and their alive daughter.
