4 months later, and still quiet on this front. But the Swedes did investigate, and the results are not public. Nobody has really made an effort to use the incident for propaganda or escalation. It's almost as if nobody (major players) has anything to gain from this. It's kind of mystifying.

The Nordstream pipelines are well within technical diving range and training is available to private citizens (at least in the US but I can't imagine that it would be that different in Europe). The oil industry has access to more advanced equipment than what is available to private citizens that is capable of operating at those depths. To me, these facts increase the number of possible suspects.

The depth of those lines isn't too bad. The key factor is how much explosives were used. It would be very difficult to procure that outside of the military or a construction company

DW, the German news channel, hired a few divers who were able to locate the Nord-stream pipeline and filmed the explosion locations. If they could do this the list of potential suspects is pretty large.

There is such a thing as pipeline inspection robots. They travel inside the pipeline to inspect for damage. It would be pretty simple to strap a bomb to one and detonate it at exactly the spot you wanted. It has the advantage of not needing a boat, or divers, which could be spotted by any passing ship. The only thing you would need is access to one end of the pipeline.

That can be done, but a internal explosion is very obvious from a external one. It also can only be done with countries with direct access like Germany or Russia. I think we'd know by now if such information is available... but in the same vein, there are plenty of research and industrial vessels capable of this. Pipes don't sit there for decades without maintenance. divers and submersibles go down to do that. Literally anyone, non-state actors included with a bit of money can. Explosives can also be made from very basic chemical processes. Just ask any insurgents. Any competent saboteur can thus commit this act and leave very little evidence.

There are pipeline inspection tools (PIG). The gas needs to be flowing in the pipeline to provide motive force for the PIG to travel. The pressure restriction of the PIG would be identified on the computer analysis software used by the operating company (Nord Stream) to monitor for any leaks along the pipeline. If no gas was flowing at the time of the explosion it would mean the pig would have been lunched some time before the explosion. As Nord Stream II pipeline had only been pressurised and full flow of gas had not been started (to the best of reports available in media), this would mean it impossible for a PIG strapped with explosives to be the method. Forensic inspection of the damage of the pipeline might be able to provide evidence of whether the explosion caused by a strap on device to the concrete lined outer parts of the pipeline or not. Thos information has not been released as far as I know.

I occasionally like to talk about this kind of stuff with friends who don't keep up with it the same as I do. Some people are much more shocked and afraid by extravagant events like this than by other super impactful but boring events. Could the intention have been for that fear that's somewhat common to have been more common, that people would be shocked and scared by the drama of the event and push their politicians to compromise. It doesn't need to be the standalone factor, if anything it can create a thorn in the enemies side, make the pro Ukrainian military victory politicians deal with some protests and the occasional fellow politician working against them so they can't render support as efficiently.

The announcement by one of the LNG marketing Guys on the day the first Russian vehicle crossed the Ukraine border, indicated the reasons for the US to dump $50 billion worth of weapons and $22 billion of IMF loans, were return on investment. They projected a $200 billion revenue increase for 2022, and the following years, from selling gas..... The US at one time condemned the actions of the Standard Oil Company for the use of such tactics, now they appear to embrace it.....

A lot of countries have done things that anyone of rational mind would consider to be to their detriment (and not just risky). It's not like most Russians would profit even if their army managed to defeat the Ukrainians and dictate some terms for peace. When you need the nationalist voters, anything deemed glorious for the country might become attractive, even if it hurts the country overall.

I think Poland specifically deserves a spot in the list. They have strong motives, currently have bad relations with Germany and Russia at the same time and they have a "bit recless" government. They are close to the location and have everything needed to perform such an attack. At the same time, they dont show up on the list at first intention as everyone blames Russia or the US at first.

Nearly all subsea pipelines have a maintenance plan in case a small or large leak occurs (eg damage from ship anchor) and all pipeline companies have access to special tools (dependent on pipeline diameter etc) and spare lengths of pipe to repair any damage. It is important to repair the damaged section and flush the pipeline of seawater in a limited time period to avoid long term damage to the pipeline. Any who dun it theory, would need to factor in if a repair is underway and if not, which parties are stopping the repair.

One mistake, it was said the pipelines were rendered inoperable. No they were not, since 1 pipe in undamaged, there is in fact a 50% capacity remaining as compared to the previous supply in 2 pipes... That's still a lot of gas.... and Putin has long since proposed to resume gas shipments.

Your analysis overlooks the fact that it bears clear signs of military action. Thus, two targets were attacked at the same time, indicating that it was necessary to be sure of success. Moreover, the amount of explosives used was much higher than would have been necessary for mere damage. Therefore, the aim was not only to damage but to destroy the pipeline. According to a German expert, the pipeline is considerably pressed into the ground on several meters, a damage caused, for example, by sea mines. This rules out the theory of a prepped maintenance vehicle and an explosion from the inside of the pipeline. Sea mines are usually laid from torpedo tubes. This is also an indication that a professional military commando operation was carried out.

True but for most the price of getting caught seems too high. Let's say the US is behind this and they get caught, this would ruin a lot of their alliances and diplomatic and trade relations, on top of this Biden and the democrats are polling rather poorly for the upcoming mid-terms so doing something that can ruin their reputation would be a big boost to their opponents: Trump and the Republicans. My money is on Russian factions that oppose Putin or some yet unknown player.

The Polish PiS government was/is the most outspoken critic of the Nordstream pipelines. Despite Germany and Poland both being members of the EU and NATO and being closely connected economically, the relations are tense over a number of issues: Nordstream 1 & 2 and Germany's Russia policy in the last 20 years in general, new Polish demand for WW2 reparations which Germany claims were settled decades ago, the EU's Ukraine and Russia policies since 2014, all the Victor Orban and Hungary stuff, Poland's judiciary reform and rule of law in the EU and many more issues in the EU's foreign and domestic policies in general. They wouldn't be a prime subject and if they become a suspect they just need plausible deniability to fend off any consequences. Even if undoubtedly discovered (very unlikely) since Poland is a member of EU and NATO Germany's possibilities to sanction them would be very limited if they have any at all. Also since most EU and NATO members share Poland's critical stance towards Nordstream there would never be any kind of majority in the EU against them in this issue. The destruction of Nordstream also increased the importance of the Yamal pipeline through Poland and the new Baltic Pipe and increased the profits for the Polish state controlled gas company running them. It's a win-win-win for Poland: Germany becomes more steadfast and less shaky regarding Ukraine, give Germany a wipe, Nordstream dealt with, Poland's own strategic positions regarding gaspipelines secured, immediate financial gains. Considering all these gains, the Northstream sabotage would be quite easy to pull off for Poland on their doorstep with little risk of discovery.

Not sure about that but it will for sure break the floor under the Kremlin owned forces that were trying to use the gas shortage to break up cohesion and stoke fear in the population. After all, while Russia had cut the pipeline for a while it was still right there, and while the EU was organizing to completely phase out Russian gas, the fact the line was there meant that there was a way to just bow down and get the easy way out. That option does not exist anymore, and thus now the only solution left is to actually yeet out Russia fully.

Around 11 years ago in the U.S. there were only 2 LNG inport terminals under construction that were repermited and redesigned to become export terminals. You have some very good points but you missed a couple of items that should be considered. All massive gas/oil lines have inspection/cleaning robots that move down the length of the pipe. Adding a bomb to an inspection robot would be the easiest way for Russia to destroy the pipe. Video inspection of the damage should show if the blast was internal of external. Russia feared that Germany was going to build a natural gas pipeline from Norway across Sweden and attach it to the existing Nord Stream pipe. This would save the massive gas handling infrastructure in Germany and miles of gas pipe. Blowing up the Nord Stream line makes it the pipe and the German gas infrastructure useless.

I had not speculated on the culprit until watching your video. Subsequently In my mind the most to benefit are Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia for the following reasons. 1. they are already cut off from Russian gas. 2. they fully and vigorously support Ukraine. 3. have spent a long time in the Soviet system which has preached that the people of the West are soft. 4. have historical motives to not trust German politicians to stay the course. 5. have immediate access to the locations in question. In summary excluding any sanction if it is proven to be them, the disruption of the gas pipelines is a purely positive at most and a non negative at worst for them

It boggles.my mind that people are jumping at the thought the US did this when, looking at geopolitics, those countries glow so hard it's like several new suns. The US out of all the suspects here has the least to gain and most to lose. The pipelines have been mostly off, for MONTHS. Why would they do it now? To stop German Russian connections? America isn't even in the top 10 countries with a score to settle with Russia. This screams to me Corporate, Hardliners, Separatist, and local politics.

Great analysis. My wife and I have been debating the Russian theory. While I don't put anything past the Russians at this point, I made the point that it didn't make much sense since Russia already controlled whether the gas flowed or not, and that by physically crippling the pipes they lose their most powerful bargaining chip just before the winter when it would potentially become most valuable. William's discussion of how this could make sense based on internal Russian politics helps me see why it might "make sense", at least to a given faction.

Something overlooked in this video's analysis is that damaging the pipeline will take active effort to fix. Assuming the fix will take time or must be done quickly, if Europe tries to get the pipeline fixed, that tells Putin that Europe really needs the gas, and has just been hoping that Russia caves in before the problem becomes severe. On the other hand, if Europe doesn't make any effort to get the pipeline fixed, it means they're confident that they can get through the winter without Russian gas. Basically, this means that we find out if Russian gas coercion is effective in November instead of February. If it is, Europe stops supporting Ukraine soon. If not, Putin knows that the support is likely to go on indefinitely, and can make plans accounting for his weaker position.

Pretty good analysis: I did the exact same myself a few days after the event. You've listed most of the posible suspects, but you jumped a critical step: capablity. You don't need a very big ship/boat to do it: could have been done using a fishing boat, or even inflatable boats. And the best way would be to use divers. The water depth lends itself to a small number of divers planting shaped charges right on top of the pipelines, using standard gear: no decompression chambers needed. You could drop them off near the sites, and they could swim the rest of the distance. The complete dive, to say 70m, with 30 minutes time at depth needs 160minutes, complete with decompression stops on ascent. Longest stop is at 3m: 64minutes. Could use that to swim to pickup point a few km away. Can buy the explosives nearby: commercial grade is fine. Could then drive them to a nearby port. Speaking of going by ship through the Black Sea is crazy. Seriously, with a huge war on, the entire region is flooded with the movement of explosives. Easy to hide in all that. In terms of the possible downside to UKR being discovered (if it did it), you're jumping to conclusions about the consequences. Cannot link any US response to individual EU country responses. I suspect it might even engender MORE US support. After all, UKR was invaded, by a US enemy of decades standing. Nobody got killed, the oss has zero negatve economic consequences to the USA. Poland? As above. UK? Pretty much the same. France? Well, who cares, French support so far has been pitiful. German? Well, there would be lots of talk, and perhaps lots of hot air from politicians. But actual actions? Well, what can they DO? German support is also pretty poor. And it doesn't go against German policy: they'd already decided NOT to use the pipelines. NATO? Well, it doesn't really constitute an attack on NATO. And UKR could argue it's a legitimate Russian-owned target. As for motive, I think you are discounting UKR motives. As long as the pipeline existed, some Germans would be willing to cave into Putin's requirements to buy gas. This removes that temptation. And, you're missing a major point. Why were only 3 ouf the 4 lines damaged? After all, they had two chances at Nord Stream 2. Kindof hard to believe they screwed up TWICE. I suspect that's on purpose, to still ALLOW a chance to buy some gas, but with two steps: approve Nord Stream 2, and THEN make agreements with Putin. Easier to block and slow it down for opponents to it. And it gives a sop to those who might be indignant to UKR about it. Timing: why now? (1) Best to do it when Putin had already shut Nord Stream 1 down (2) And not when its cold, and Germans are sufferng from gas/electrical shortages Rather do it now and let everything calm down, move off front pages (3) Prevent any talks amongst Germans who are willing to stab UKR in the back: as in prevent that talk BEFORE it starts to drive policy (4) Remove the potential for Putin to use as a threat whilst UKR is going well. There's subtantial momentum in the economic and military aid to UKR. It takes MONTHS before a large fraction of it gets approved, and anything actually arrives. UKR needs military support for at least the next 6 months. If weak-kneed Germans started to talk about back-stabbing UKR now, then after a month or so, they'd start to talk to Putin. Then Putin would see he had support to push for a cease-fire. That doesn't suit UKR now. Anyways, I suspect that UKR did it, and I also suspect they might have told some of the West that they had done it, so as not to cause undue embarrasment if they WERE detected afterwards. To support this, why do you think there is so little public release of official investigations? The Fix is in....:-}

The problem is, analyzing the damage from open source data it was possible to determine that large ~500kg explosive charges were used in the attacks. Any larger vessel carrying a mechanism to deploy such a charge would have created a radar signature big enough to be detectable, but there was no such surface vessel near these locations. So it is pretty clear that a submarine was used in the deployment process. Also, these charges are similar to sea mines typically deployed via military submarine.

The early newspaper reports made a wild guess at 500kg, but if you look at the actual seismic data, and if you know about the blast/seismic from underwater explosions, you can see that it's VERY hard to get an accurate estimate. There are too many factors that affect that: - Effects of sea bed - Land masses involved in signal transmission (islands, shoals etc) - Water depth, and explosive depth (even if you know this exactly, the data used in the models varies from it, and the total data set is not very big) - Type of explosion (a shaped charge would give a different output from a spherical type used as a sea mine) You wouldn't need a single/large charge: could use several smaller ones linked together "Radar"? Nobody is talking of records from radar: it's REALLY busy region in any case. And it's not known how long the explosives were in place before being detonated. Hours? Days? Weeks? Months? There are FOUR energy releases involved here: (1) Explosion (2) Pressurised pipeline rupture (3) Gas release from pipeline (4) Sea water/released gas bubble interaction On (3) and (4), the gas comes blasting out of from two LONG sections, at +/- 100 Bar into water at +/- 10 Bar. That in itself is a LOT of energy, released in a SMALL region. THEN, you have gas bubbles at an initial 10 Bar submerged pressure, rising up and EXPANDING to surface ambient pressure of 1 Bar. That's a BIG volume expansion. So what happens to the water it displaced? Hmmm......:-} You got it, Charlotte, water is displaced outwards, and causes an unsteady vortex of strong currents in a general circulare/vertical motion.

A pipeline or oil-platform services company might have done it on contract, but that would be so incredibly risky for them. And it would be beyond the capacity of a single rogue employee or pair of rogue employees. Almost definitely it was a government operation from the short list of governments that have the skill and equipment.

I think the US and/or UK did it. Not spamming russian propaganda here nor supporting russia in any ways! But there are 4 reasons why I think the US may be responsible for that sabotage: 1.) Russia needed the pipelines in order to keep their fingers at the buttons. I know they were able to control the gas prices in europe and abuse their responsibility in order to raise unrest in the population of europe, but only by being able to turn the gas tap on and off as they wished. As this is not possible anymore, I guess russia was in a better tactical position when northstream 1 and 2 were still active. 2.) The US knew this, and alwas (rightfully) claimed that giving russia that kind of power over the sake of europes economy canno be tolerated. As shown in the video, President Biden said they won't accept this and would be able to terminate northstream one way or another. When europe realised their gas market is choked by putin, I guess many countries didn't raise their voices when the US proposed this kind of 'termination' of north stream. 3.) Many don't know this but those 3 explosions happened between the shores of poland and sweden, two of them even close to the shores of denmark and germany. This region is highly frequented and observated by NATO vessels and usually avoided by russian ships. Radar and other surveillance would have exposed any russian ship in that area immediately. As the detonations (as far as I know!) happened in a timespan of several hours, I can't think of anyone not noticing the first detonation and thus letting the third explosion even happen. 4.) The way western and especially german media is (not) reporting about this issue is very strange. I remember in german television when everyone talked about, some people pointed their fingers at russia but some days later, nobody wastalking about it anymore. It feels like this case was closed by saying it was sabotage without even naming further details. I could imagine if there were evidence that claimed russia to be responsible, there would still be talk shows of politicians talking about a 'ruthless agression'. But no media is talking about it. I'm not saying 'the media is paid by the elite bla bla bla', and I'm aware this theory somewhat sounds like a conspiracy theory, but the motivations for a sabotage and the way it was dealt with in the media clearly speaks for the US 'terminating' Northstream. But it is definitely not a simple boat with a diver wearing swimsuit. Boats with such equipment are probably registered, even if they are owned by some private company or research institute. So it won't be that hard to trace it back, if it is not covered by any of the states. Plus what is the motivation for such an attack by a private institut? I think a large motivation for Ukraine is overlooked here. One, and this IS covered, I don't think Ukraine would do it by sailing round the continent. But a reason they might want Germany's gas mainline cut, I feel, is because it forces Germany away from a temptation to seek to re-establish the prior status quo with Russia, and russian gas supply, and not give assistance to Ukraine, urging the conflict as soon as possible towards a negotiated settlement, one less favourable to a Ukraine who as the video states is currently doing wel in the fighting.

Time for an update to this story soon? Always found it lazy that almost everyone (in the West anyway) framed it as “omg who did this and why was it Putin?”. Sure, Putin’s the go-to villain and almost always also the _actual_ villain, but it just seemed so strange that the press treated it as such a foregone conclusion despite Russia seeming to have the most to lose and least to gain. I guess everyone was still at a loss trying to explain why Russia would invade Ukraine, so it became “if it’s unexplainable it must be Russia’s doing”. But as this video shows, there are a bunch of other interested parties in this, but no one wanted to look into that initially. Now, later, the prevailing theory seems to be that it likely wasn’t Russia’s doing, which… yeah?

There is also another aspect: Causing division within Germany and within NATO. Some people in Germany are not particularly pro USA, some are more or less pro Russia and Putin knows. I would add a hint that one team carried out this attack. Assume for a moment that they had two identical packages of explosives and timers (set to the same delay) to do the damage. The team installs the first bomb and, as its last step, starts the timer. They then move on to the second site, repeating the process, again setting the timer as their last step. Their travel time plus a single installation time comes down to that seventeen hours. They wouldn't want the delay to be longer than that, because the added time would allow measures to be taken to catch them. And of course that seventeen hours says nothing about how long before the bombs were set. It could be hours, days or even weeks. The latter could be a factor in determining who did this. The various motivations now say little about those existing weeks ago before the tide had clearly turned in favor of Ukraine.

Consider possibility, that the mines were planted long in advance - a month, 3 months, or 6 months. It is unlikely that the pipes were monitored underwater by, say, Gazprom. So, the mines might be waiting for a remote signal to come, when a situation demands.

A leak was also found in the 4th and final pipeline. So 4 out of 4 pipelines will be destroyed. The most inconspicuous is certainly a fishing boat. The depth of the pipelines can be reached by experienced divers. The area is easily accessible from Kaliningrad by civilian ship. Just days before the attack, there was a small demonstration in Germany demanding that Nord Stream 2 be opened to get gas. That's impossible now.

It’s not that easy to completely pump dry pipelines that are over a thousand of kilometres long and likely does “flow” downhill, but goes up and down. The seawater would ruin the polymer coating that prevents the gas from corroding the pipe. Not to mention the rocks and sludge that has also entered the lines and would likely cause damage while being removed, if it can all be removed. That pipeline could be considerably filled with debris.

As much as i dislike what's going on in Ukraine, I have to say that (personally) America is the one with the biggest profit. Let me explain: The US Government sanctioned Germany and Russia after they began constructing NS2, sanctions which are still in effect. Now the problem with that is, that the only ship capable of repairing NS2 is stuck in harbor. Furthermore, the US government is interested in selling their expensive fracking gas to European markets, which they now can since 1) Europe need that gas, desperately 2) Europe doesn't have much choice left. The problem is, the American fracking gas is a lot more damaging for the environment (because of the way it's being produced, transport to Europe), which is bad in another way which isn't directly relevant but still a major point. Another thing is, Putin needed those Pipelines as a 'Psychological Weapon'. What I mean by that is, he can say: "Look people of Germany, we COULD provide gas so you don't have to freeze in the winter. But YOUR Government is blocking approval of NS2" Which could potentially rise to civil unrest (it already does in some regard), cementing the leverage Putin has on central Europe. As much as I dislike Putin and his comrades, I can't imagine him ordering the sabotage. Destroying the pipeline however, would completely remove his trump card this winter and leave him without a way to blackmail us. In the end, I'm just another guy in front of his PC and you shouldn't take my POV as facts. They're nothing more than speculations. Anyways, greetings from Germany :)

I think you fail to mention more with a nato country (let’s primarily say the US) why it’s possible they did it. It makes more sense for them to do it than Russia as it severely hurts Russian infrastructure and future income. They also have their German ally in check. The importance of the timing of the event I remember was noteworthy. This was autumn time and Europeans especially Germans were very worried about the energy crisis about to hit that winter. Gas prices going up 8x to 10x, all energy costs were going up in this regard. Not to mention the huge cost to industry. There was speculation that Germany might fold and go for the easy option of obtaining some gas in the winter from nord stream around jan/feb. But that ended with the sabotage. You spent a great deal on Putin but I also think some more should’ve been spent on the US, especially regarding Bidens comments and even trump had something to say about the construction of it. So much thought had been opposed by the US prior to sabotage.

It's not like it would have been too hard to destroy honestly, would just need to know where it is. Drop a couple magnetic influence mines and see what happens. They could certainly do the damage, an old one blew a 25 foot hole in the side of a US cruiser in the Vietnam war, and with how much cold war tech is spread across the globe it wouldn't be too hard for someone with connections to get a few. My point being, it's not like this would have to have been some top-notch military sabotage effort, a group of politicians or even a TCO could have done it really. Not sure if this is 100% correct but i believe the depth of the damaged section of pipeline is only 70 mtrs. If this is the case then most commercial divers would have the ability to get down to that depth. This means it wouldnt be an overly complicated operation provided you had the correct explosives and an idea of where the pipelines were located.

At 210 feet, a human diver would have to make a very difficult dive and I don't see any reason for a human to do that. But how did they know it had a pressure loss if it wasn't on? If you fill up a straw with liquid and pop a hole in the side, you won't notice until you start sucking on one side of the straw. The most likely scenario is that "someone" is worried that NATO will waiver politically and certain parties in some countries will lose the will to continue supporting Ukraine in hopes of getting Russian gas turned back on. With that option now being jeopardized it seems that no amount of political shifts in any NATO countries will matter. An interesting aspect not covered in this video or by mainstream media is that there are cleaning / maintenance robots inside the pipeline which are controlled from the Russian end. Thus there is actually no need to involve any sort of naval espionage at all in planting a bomb. This area is closely monitored by satellite and no evidence of unusual naval activity has as yet been announced. Additionally worth mentioning is that the Germans had the idea of using some of the pipeline to create an offshore LNG to gas conversion plant. The plot thickens...

A explosion of a maintaince robot in the pipeline would have a different explosion/debris characteristic compared to a explosive attached to the pipelines. That would be quite easy to spot as soon as the investigation teams get eyes on the explosion sites. Russia would have been really stupid if they had used this method. On your second point, if germany actually acts quick now (which would suprise me), they could use the three destroyed pipelines now for new LNG terminals as they only need the first few kilometers of them to connect the terminals. These are not damaged by the explosion, but might take damage from the saltwater insite the pipelines in the next months.

That area is very well monitored, Eussia could not have done it without being tracked immediately, and would have been made publically all over the world in all major newspapers. We have not seen any evidence Russia did it, so that rules out that Russia did it, unless the explosions were brought in from within the pipes themselves. He cited an informant who was neither named, nor was his access to such information explained. In time perhaps it will be confirmed. However no evidence has been produced to date.

They blamed pro-Ukrainian forces which Is clearly a cover for US special forces/marines as the attack on Nordstrom would be an intricate operation requiring lots of equipment and highly trained special forces troops. First you said it was America, now, with breaking news you say it is Ukraine. Just what critical analysis do you have for either statement? I am old enough to know that these things twist and turn. Will your views change every time you see a different news report? Now, here is a simple fact. The water there is shallow, any decent professional diver working off a small craft, diving with helium, could do that job. Think for a moment. Professional divers from oil rigs dive much deeper and whilst down strip and replace equipment. How much easier it is just to place some explosives. All the diver needs is the right kit and a warm cabin for when he returns. No decompression required with helium. Yet you still say it was a sophisticated job despite the fact that the latest news says it was supposedly carried out from a yacht. In short you posts are changing with the wind and in addition, they are confused. As for your assertion that I should not confuse Putin with Russians. As a dutchie thinking that the Netherlands had anything to do with it sounds impossible. Our gas come mainly from groningen and is causing earthquakes so the Netherlands is shutting down the gas operations but can't close everything completely because of the contract with Germany. They really want and need the gas since they can't get it from Russia anymore so are putting more pressure on our agreement and forcing the Netherlands to find ways to get the gas.

@@fredcarr3550 yes it used to be pretty bad and a lot of houses in groningen were getting earthquake damage.. and the people that were affected had to fight to be heard and get help to fix their houses. they have now decreased the amount of gas they’re getting from groningen very drastically because everyone was angry and scared and their houses damaged.

It's pretty plain and simple. It's Poland. There is really no other country that has fiercely opposed this pipeline and opposed any form of economic coercion by Russia on the EU. It just gave a giant middle finger to the countries that divided it 82 years ago in the process. They even went to the extent of having their navy interfere while they were laying the pipe. Poland has by far the strongest motive to see that these pipelines are never operational while Putin or similar Russian leader is in power. I think they more than capable to carry it out.

Kind of damage you might expect from a misplaced depth charge. Went between the two pipes on NS1 damaging both, but off to one side of NS2, damaging only 1 of the pipes. If you look on maps other than google earth (like open streetmap) there are 2 red crosshatched areas in the vicinity, usually they denote military training areas. I see some comments on here stating 3 or 4 undersea explosions, but from reports from the seismologists (widely shown on news channels), only 2 - meaning there should only be 3 leaks if everything else matches up.
