Nether actor is someone that I would be willing to take the risk of a 150 million dollar budgeted movie. Nostalgia is nice but I don't think either actor is up to the challenge of being the lead role of a blockbuster. Let alone maybe you could make a case for Morrison 10 years ago but now he's just too old for the role.

Boba Fett is the unaltered clone of Jango Fett, who was played by Temuera Morrison, an actor with Polynesian heritage. Why not cast a Polynesian actor, so that it fits the established canon? Daniel Logan already played the young Boba Fett in Attack of the Clones. He would be my first choice. My second choice would be Kiwi actor Manu Bennett. Since Episodes 1-3 and The Clone Wars animated show are still canon, not casting an actor from the same nationality would be disrespectful, in my opinion.

Hey Screen Junkies, I've got kind of a bummer comment to make: I want to start off with saying I am a huge fan of the channel and all of the videos you do. Every day, I start my day off in Japan with the screen junkies movie news. It's a great way to start my day. But recently, it seems that you guys have been very lackadaisical and carefree with how you guys deal with spoilers for movies after they are released in the US audience can see the movie for themselves. As I mentioned earlier, I am an international viewer and often movies don't get released for weeks after the US release date. I realize that this cannot be helped and it's on me to watch with caution to try not to take in spoilers when watching internet content like this, but recently, many of your videos don’t mention the spoiler warning until after the matter, or even in videos that seem the spoilers for said movie would be irrelevante topic. It's difficult enough already to be on edge or avidly avoiding certain videos (leaving certain videos, not starting to begin with, etc.), but when spoiler warnings aren't treated with more care or caution, it can get quite dissapointing after the third or fourth time for an international audience member to have movies that we can't even see yet be spoiled. I say this with complete respect for the channel and will continue to watch out of enjoyment for your wonderful materail, but I wanted to share my thoughts incase there were any other international viewers who have been facing the same disappointment. Anyway, hope you guys were able to take something from my thoughts and found it at aleast somewhat applicable. Cheers.

@joemckim11836 жыл бұрын
Jon Bernthal would be a perfect choice to play Boba Fett. He isn't Maori but has a dark complexion just like the little kid in Attack of the Clones. Bernthal is a great actor who deserves the chance at a lead role in a big movie. This voice actor is a fine actor but not someone who's adept at acting in front of the camera let alone doing all of the stunts that the role requires.

Manu bennett is the best choice he looks like he could be a young morrison and hes a great actor
@golfball56 жыл бұрын
The one true Boba Fett casting: Karl Urban. He has already proven he can play a gruff badass who never takes his helmet off in the movie “Dredd”, his New Zealand accent is perfect since Boba is supposed to be a clone of Jango Fett (who was played by fellow kiwi Temuera Morrison), and he has proven time and again that he is a quality actor who can handle action in both leading and supporting roles.
@golfball56 жыл бұрын
You'd have to be more specific. I assume you meant Temuera Morrison, who has done voice acting as Boba Fett and even dubbed the character's lines in the DVD re-release of Empire Strikes Back. While he could theoretically do it, the Hollywood system is less concerned with continuity than it is with having a recognizable name cast in the lead role. Morrison's most recent major acting credit in the United States is as the voice of Moana's dad. If you meant Daniel Logan, who played young Boba in Attack of the Clones and did the voice acting for the character for the Clone Wars TV show, it's also an issue of name recognition. If you meant the original trilogy's Boba Fett, Jeremy Bulloch, he's in his 70s. Overall, Karl Urban is still the best choice for reasons previously listed and given his track record in action movies (eg. the recent Star Trek trilogy, The Bourne Supremacy, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Doom, Thor: Ragnarok, etc.).
@golfball56 жыл бұрын
Talon Diwisch I apologize, I realize now I probably came across as condescending in my last reply. I still doubt Disney and Lucasfilm would go with Morrison or Logan, even though either would make perfect sense as you say. But I don't doubt James Mangold will write and direct a good movie regardless of whom is chosen for the role.
@skoffs6 жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter what the actor looks like, because he's not taking the helmet off in the movie (Dread style best style).
@Legionzzzz16 жыл бұрын
Except for 2 key factors his voice and how he looks. We already know who Fett is, where he comes from and what he looks and sounds like, so that eliminates most of the people who could normally play him. No doubt Karl is a great actor and he did a great job on Dredd but he looks nothing like Fett and he doesn't sound like him. And chances are they're gonna have Boba take off his helmet at least once.

Well, that escalated quickly. Is it just me or was that more heated than usual? I honestly don't really like the "bullshitting" angle that is so often taken, with people who are just good at lying getting a benefit there, I know it does get fact checked etc but still sometimes the better public speaker and/or bullshitter just stands out. Even just some soft rehearsals might help 10 or 15 minutes just before the show maybe? You don't have to determine round winners etc in the rehearsal so the game can still be dynamic and live, just going over the initial arguments and problematic points that may come up, you might even get better arguments in the show as a result, with the players being more ready.

I mean no disrespect to the panel here, and I know I'm in a minority of people who think this, but I can't really stand these 3-person fights. I never cared for Movie Fights, but I gave it a shot after the revamped format last year. I found the one-on-one format had a much better sense of direction and demanded more of the fighter with only one other person to debate with. I was actually interested and the discussions were clear and concise. Here, it's mostly just who ever talks the loudest and interjects at the right time. There's too much of people talking over each other, no sense of direction or clarity and it makes me not care about the subject matter. I stopped watching at the 13:25 mark. Again, I get that most people seem to disagree with me, but there's anyone at Screen Junkies actually reading this, count this as a vote to return to the one-on-one format. This is a hard pass for me.

Screen Junkies I don't have a problem with diversity, but if you bring it up all the time than nothing will change, because as soon as someone mentions a race or religion, we automaticlly make the diffrence that somebody is is not like me or you. If we just take it for granted, that people are diffrent and just talk about the quality of the story or character, diversity will become more accepted and normal.
@69johndz6 жыл бұрын
I have to agree. You shouldn't cast a movie based on "diversity". Just find the perfect actors to fulfill the roles. It blows my mind that no one made a peep about Sigourney Weaver in Aliens or Linda Hamilton in Terminator. Star Wars had a strong female character AND a strong black character...and no one batted an eye and Time magazine never did an article on the "New Diversity in Hollywood". They were just great actors playing great parts and everyone had a good time. EDIT: Almost forgot Marion Ravenwood from Indiana Jones.

Like it or not, the prequels are canon, and young Boba Fett was played by an actor who appeared to be of New Zealander or some other Pacific Islander descent, so they should cast an actor of that ethnicity. I don't mind when a character's race is different from the source material, but it shouldn't change from film to film within the same series. That said, I still think Edgar Ramirez is a totally solid choice. I can't see the other two working. Logan Lerman showed in The Three Musketeers that he can't do action (yes I realize Fury was awesome), and Chiwetel Ejiofor is arguably too famous and too old for the role.

I don't wanna boba fett movie tbh. I wouldn't mind him supporting character in a different spinoff

Disney and Lucasfilm are keeping within continuity, they're keeping canon. They stand by and bring back actors to reprise roles that they've played within the trilogies, spin offs and animated series. Depending on the timeline it should be, it must be Temuera Morrison or Daniel Logan. UNLESS Boba Fett become a mantle, a name that someone takes for themselves. The long and short is that Boba Fett is a clone of Jango Fett. Temuera Morrison needs to return or at the minimum, Daniel Logan can come back to play the character he has played for 13 years.

One issue I have, is that in the previous canon, storm troopers weren't clones by the original movies, so all the arguments about the clones were more or less irrelevant.

that wasn't boba that fell in the pit, it was his student carrying his brand. Boba got paid, chilling at Vader castle, with a new suit of armor

There has been 3 people to play Boba Fett in the movies, and none of them even mentioned the obvious 2 choices for the role.

Peter is (almost) the only reason I watched Deadpool 2. And I bloody loooove Deadpool. But until the final trailer I wasn't convinced it could live up to its predecessor. Any thoughts?

We talking about this as the solo movie bombs? How about stop ruining Star Wars first....
@demonteddybear35106 жыл бұрын
Glenn Dyler We don't know if it bombed yet. I'm not going to see it, but how many will?
@CrumbBug6 жыл бұрын
Glenn Dyler I'm in the minority that Disney is actually doing well with star wars. Even if you don't like the new movies, they're still better than the prequels (and I love the prequels). And rogue one was great. But EA is for sure ruining star wars games.

Watched solo,it's not as good as it could have been. It tells you how he got his stuff but not so much about him becoming who he is.

Baldheadedblackchick that is what I wanted to see. Origin story about his character. Ah well...

Isn't 4-6 supposed to be the evolution of his character from smuggler/kinda asshole to hero? I saw Solo, and the fact that it exists is indeed problematic as I like to think of Solo as that asshole at ep 4, and obviously they weren't making a young Solo an asshole. But what they did do was a fun enough ride and I suppose if he'd truly been too much of an asshole he wouldn't have been able to befriend Chewie unless he was a jerk too (and no one wants that for this particular wookie.)

Daniel Logan has been a huge part of the community even still. I think his loyalty to fans and the community earns him the right to reprise his roll
@upstart3r6 жыл бұрын
They should do something that allows a bunch of actors to play Boba Fett in the same movie since his face is covered. Maybe give Daniel Logan the opening scene putting his helmet on and then switch it up.
@Mr-Tibbster6 жыл бұрын
Depends on the story they do. If they go with the old plan of what was going to be in the 1313 game that got cancelled, they may not have someone who is like the prequel Boba at all, and retcon the Boba from the Original Trillogy from being the same Boba from the Prequel era. They were going to make it so some other guy comes along and kills Prequel Boba and then steals his armour and name to restore the orginal mystery of the character in the OT. So obviously if they go down that route, the actor may be someone very unexpected. But if not then, who knows?

Jay makes shitty choices and brings shitty arguments to defend them. Matt Knost was the best all around. Joelle wasn't bad.
