As much as I would love to see another Mexican at United, Alvarez lacks creativity going forward. He's great at tackling, but his forward play is worse than Fred's. We need someone who can transition the ball from defense to offense. Alvarez recovers the ball and usually does a back pass or a lateral pass. He's not one to pivot after a tackle and pick out an attack starting pass.

@@elturururu6132 No. There's a reason Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips are on the radar. They're both deep lying CDMs that have the capacity of recovering and transitioning play forward. Most people would even agree that Phillip's forward play isn't good enough to have at United and he's miles ahead of Alvarez in that category. Now I do think there's a point to be made about having him go to United as a CB, but not as a CDM. Even then, there are way better options for CB in Jurrien Timber and Nico Schlotterbeck. He would go as a sub much like Jones and Bailley are now. What United are looking for is a CDM with a playing style of Busquets, Casemiro, or Kante. Not a slightly better McTominay.

If Rashford alone had last seasons form they would be above Chelsea easily. He had 36 G/A and this season he can’t kick a ball properly. I think Pat's two options are the most attainable & affordable, based off of the standard of the club they're at (particularly Calvert-Lewin) vs standard of United & contract length. Osimhen is a good shout from Zac though, but getting Osimhen AND Rice is going to be nearly impossible. IF we give Jimmy Garner a chance in the middle of the pitch, next to Fred/Van de Beek, that could free up more funds to spend on other positions. If I'm being honest, I think a blend between Pat's and Mike's choices are positive. Sign Antony to play on the right of a front three, next to Sancho & Rashford (with Elanga & potentially Martial - IF ETH wants him - off the bench), and sign Bennacer to play in a midfield three behind Bruno and in front of Fred/Garner/McTominay/Van de Beek.

The club just gave OGS a new contract which made you believe great things were about to come. Before the start of the season id even argue we had the best potential attack in the league with a front 3 of Sancho- Ronaldo- Mason/Rash. Bringing in Varane even made us think our defence was saved. Reading from reports bennancer renewal is basically done . He loves playing for AC Milan... and Patrick you say there is no stage like Old Trafford. There is no stage like the San Siro. In terms of the midfield, Man U should go for Ndidi and Tielemans. This nonsense about Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips needs to stop. Ndidi is miiilllleeessss ahead of DR and KP. Tielamans contract is ending 2023 so they can get him on the "cheap". Another option for CDM would be Ibrahim Sangare🙃🙂(iykyk). Boubacar Kamara is also a free agent this summer. Defence I would say go for either Sven Botman(Losc Lille) or Goncalo Inacio(Sporting CP) or even Matthias Ginter(Borussia Monchengladbach) who's a free agent this summer. Another free agent that would help the team is Mazraoui. And he's also from Ajax soo🤷🏾‍♂️. In terms of strikers, I would say either Karim Adeyemi, Johnathan David, Christopher Nkunku.
