You always yield to the right, but pedestrians always have right of way. Then C may go since A must yield to B, and B must yield to C. Once C goes, A can go as well or wait for B.

If this happened in Las Vegas, the Pedestrian is a homeless guy with the needle still sticking out of his arm, who gets run over by the orange car that keeps on going straight. The blue and red car drivers’ turn a blind eye to the incident as they don’t want to be involved.

While the pedestrian technically has the right of way, roads might be a lot safer if pedestrians assume the 40 ton piece of uncaring metal has the right of way and pedestrians also actually follow the rules of the road.

In the crosswalk, the pedestrian always has right-of-way. If the pedestrian was outside of the crosswalk, then it depends since each state has different laws regarding pedestrian right-of-way.

The pedestrian is already halfway across, so they keep going and Car C has to yield. This gives Car B rights of way, and then Car A and C are both going straight so they both go next

Car B does not get to 'borrow' right of way from the pedestrian, so it should yield to both the pedestrian and car C. They are 2 separate issues. If car C goes around the pedestrian and there is a collision with car B, then B is 100% at-fault for the accident.

@@946towguy2 on a round about, you need to give way to the car on your right, but if that car is being blocked by the car on their right, then you are free to go. The same applies here, car B is free to go.

At an intersection the person to your right always has the right of way. PCBA. If car C motions for B to pass then it is ok. If I was in C with a pedestrian crossing I would motion to B to go out of courtesy.

Pedestrian has right of way over cars C and A and car B must be prepared to yield to the pedestrian if the pedestrian chooses to turn left and cross at the far side of the intersection. As for the cars, their right of way is INDEPENDENT of the pedestrian, so their precedence is C, then B then A. Car B is not entitled to 'borrow' a right from the pedestrian. So, if car B proceeds without right of way, car C fails to yield to pedestrian, strikes pedestrian, and there is a collision between car B and car C, then car C is 100% at-fault in the auto-pedestrian collision and car B is 100% at-fault in the vehicle collision. If Car A decides to 'borrow' the right of way from car C, then that driver would be at-fault if car B proceeded immediately after car C passed and there was a collision between B and A.

Right at the start, can anyone confirm an uncontrolled intersection like this exists in the US? Because I have never seen an uncontrolled intersection like this in my life. Yellow lines on all roads AND crosswalks? Either there should be stop signs on no less than two lanes of travel or there should be a traffic light. If I saw this mess, I'd have to treat it like an all way yield and at least slow down to assess when it's safest for me to go. On that note, C needs to stop no matter what for the pedestrian, and A should probably do the same. A also needs to stop for B because it's on their right and therefore B has the right of way compared to A. With the pedestrian in the crosswalk I can tell you drivers I see would take the right of way and go regardless, and I wouldn't fault them. Since this moves B out of the picture, A and C can go at the same time since they're both going straight, assuming the pedestrian is out of the crosswalk for C, otherwise C will still have to wait while A maybe can go, but definitely slowly.

I don't know whether such a thing still exists anywhere, but Saskatoon in the eighties had hundreds of these intersections. They didn't put up Stop signs anywhere but main roads. I almost killed a member of the local 1%er's club who had the right of way once. All that was visible of him was the very top of his helmet, and he was moving fast.

Orange has to yield to pedestrian. Blue can go at the same time as the pedestrian, then red and orange can go at the same time.

The right of way of the pedestrian and car B are completely independent of each other. Car C must yield to the pedestrian and car B must yield to car C, so if everyone proceeded, then car C would be at-fault for hitting the pedestrian, car B would be at-fault for striking the left side of car C and car A would be at-fault for striking the left side of car B.

In Ohio pedestrians in a crosswalk always have right of way. Moving vehicles are required to stop period. Intersection, parking lot, etc.

In India it is duty of the driver to save the pedestrian and if you hit the pedestrian all hell will let lose. All the other pedestrians will pounce on you and beat your shit out, while the police will look in other direction.

The pedestrian has full right to finnish crossing. A must yield. He goes last. B has full right away . C has to wait . Then A can go. Or can opt to let C turn. Number one pedestrian must remain safely crossing . That my take on it.

In that case, then C got the right of way. You have to yield to traffic on your right side. Therefore, A will yield to B, B will yield to C, and C will yield to no one

The question was unclear: The pedestrian is already on the crosswalk. Right of way is irrelevant at this point. Only clearing the crossing maters. C had right of way, but had to wait due to the pedestrian. So it was temporarily out of the discussion. B had right of way, due to no car to it's right being able to drive.

@@946towguy2 Right of way maters for who is allowed to enter the traffic conflict area first. A pedestrian on the Road is already in the conflict area. Not running them over has higher relevancy then if they _should_ be there.

@@christopherg2347 I stated that the pedestrian has right of way over the cars. I also pointed out that the right of way between the cars is independent of the pedestrian. That means: 1)The orange car (c) should yield to the pedestrian, but if the car proceeds, it has right of way over the other cars. 2) Blue car (B) should first yield to the pedestrian (who may decide to suddenly make a left turn into the car's path) and then must yield to car C. 3)car A should yield to the pedestrian (who may turn around and go back into its path) and must also yield to cars B and C.

You need to improve these videos. Your picture doesn't show stop signs, yield signs, and the appropriate line that accompanies those signs. If there is such a thing as an uncontrolled intersection in the USA it is extremely rare. So your videos should show how the intersection is controlled. I have been driving for nearly 60 years now and I have never encountered one. Of course, the pedestrian has the right of way when in the crosswalk. However, if this is a two-way stop and the road he is crossing doesn't have a stop sign. The pedestrian must look both ways and wait for the road to be clear of traffic before crossing.

It is not rare. In my city (Seattle), most of the suburban residential neighborhoods have completely uncontrolled intersections, and this type of exercise is critical in our driving tests. You can use Google street view to walk around and see. Try something around 6000 30th Ave NE Seattle, or in any of the other low density residential grids around the city. Seattle isn't exactly a "middle of nowhere" type of place.

First thing. No signs. This is highly problematic. Assuming, always a bad thing, that the pedestrian is crossing legally, then we can deduce that the circulation lights that we don’t see are green for the pedestrian and B while red for A and C. Therefore, B doesn’t even have to stop and can cross. While A and C need to wait until they get green light and then can cross at the same time since they are not turning.
