Next year Dr Simon Clark should do a Mastermind style quiz. That way contestants can have a 'specialist subject' and feel like they've bossed it (i.e. Hulmes could have D&D, Martin could have Minecraft etc - who knows people might go left field!) and then have general knowledge round too and see where it goes. Probably an easier set up for the tech team too!!

Tougher for DSC to do the questions though. Mastermind has a whole team of question masters to build the sets and ensure they're as balanced as possible. Putting it on one guy to build equally challenging sets of questions on disparate subjects (some of which he may personally know nothing about) is asking a lot of one man.

Very true! It was just a thought. Perhaps the community could help with questions - although quality control could be an issue I suppose... Either way, I'll be watching the quiz again next year because it'a become one of my favourite parts of the Jingle Jam! Thanks for all the effort Dr Simon!

A pound cake is made in equal parts of eggs, flour, sugar and butter. I know it as a quatre quarts, as in 4 equal parts of those ingredients.

What you in the US call a pound cake we call a sponge in the UK though. The question was written for a US audience but was asked to UK people, that's why it was such a confusing mess.

However, I'm gonna nitpick (sarcastically): Why did they use the £500,000 question music for the entire show? and why did they use the £500,000 winning music for the entire game? Simon was being very 'Tarrant' about everything. However, he's doing it all the time and not just later on in the game, which kills the suspense. No Fastest Finger First. Sadge. Obviously sarcastic. Loved it!
