I think it's because Versace was known more as a fashion designer in his native Italy than anything else. America just couldn't resist a good criminal case so whenever a celebrity is murdered the public would instead see him/her as the random murder victim.

It's not about praising the killer but more about understanding his motivations and the psychology of a killer. If you really want something that celebrates Versace you can watch the many documentaries about his achievements. It's a bit naïve to complain about them painting a picture of his killer when you're the one who clicked on a video about this murder.

Gianni loved life and was such a beautiful soul, you can tell that wealth and fame weren't super important to him...he loved designing because to him, it was art. He embraced the challenge of crafting an outfit for every single type of woman, every personality, every unique feature. His eyes would just light up when he would talk about his work, or when he would see how happy it made some of the individuals who wore donned his apparel. Then, there's Andrew Cunanan. Somebody who wanted so badly to BE somebody. Who would feel equally vindicated whether he accomplished something, or just successfully convincing somebody of said accomplishment. In an ironic way, his desire to be universally loved and admired (without the work involved) would make everyone he ever met eventually dislike his habitual lying and arrogant delusions of grandeur. Look at all five of his victims, what do they all have in common? They were all universally loved for who they were in their heart, not for superficial reasons, and Andrew HATED that. "If nobody will love me, I will take it out on the people they do love." Sadly, Andrew did succeed in a way...he will always be remembered. As a psychopathic, insecure, pathetic man, but remembered non the less.

I agree with you about Ron Goldman and Nicole. People are strange. They act like they can take a picture and it will last forever. Or, like the cameras are rolling. This place isn't permanent. Personally, I don't think it's worth taking anyone's life. Life is like Russian Roulette any way. No matter how much money anyone has, they will one day meet the equalizer: DEATH! So I really just laugh at people who don't like me, and it motives me to live because I hate people like that. For the rest of my life, I refuse to teach any mean people anything ever again because I only share my talents with nice and respectful human beings who don't act like pigs.

Imagine a man who once even figured out the secret to time travel. That's me. In the 80's, everyone was telling me that I couldn't design a certain computer program, but I did it, and it worked like a charm. How many times has that been done? For the rest of my life, I'm taking the advice of another great genius from the past: Nikola Tesla. He tried to get Einstein to shut his mouth, but Einstein was a show off. Tesla told him that he discovered what Einstein did years before he did it. Tesla also discovered the evil side of people, and that's when he stopped sharing secrets with people. I will not help the Romans who have already taken over our country. They believe they have enough technology to reassure them a safe return to power on this planet. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT! They already get jealous of each other and murder each other. Because of people like Vercace and friends, our world is a worse place. There is less safety, and a lot more torment than there would've been because him and his sick people friends. I don't have anything for that trash. I'm not a killer, but at the same time, I won't shed a tear over child molesters either. It's all in Andrew's diary. That is, if they didn't destroy it.

So here i am watching this documentary, I had a classmate here in the Philippines who has the same surname as the killer so i then googled where Andrew's hometown in the Philippines was. Lo and behold, i find that his relatives indeed reside in my hometown and when he stayed briefly in the Philippines he stayed at this town. 😲😲😲 I can't even sing Bruno mar's song now without picturing the scenes from this documentary. 😱

Paranoid. So, if there is a killer who's surname is the same with yours and came from the same place which is your place of origin, we should be scare of you too?

@@gbboomer9813 Why not? He became famous becaude of it. They cannot make a story about Gianni Versace without mentioning him.

i need help. im young, but i feel different, especially when i see psych shows. my sister was my best friend, but she ran away twice. since the first time, my parents have been saying “yes” to so many things, even going to visit a friend at a hotel at 11pm. theyve gained trust cause they think im such a “good” person as in i wouldnt do bad decisions (which is completely wrong). i have social issues, i dont feel like everyone. im narcissistic, i judge my family a lot because i want them to be the best version of themselves. i cheat in almost all of school work, even if ik the criteria. i have ap/honors classes, which convinces my parents that im sooo smart, which i kinda am, but im careless. i lurk a lot and study psychological shows. i dont wanna end up evil, and i wouldnt be surprised if i do. im confused, and i need help. and some of you may say im exaggerating, but really there’s more to this and there’s so many similarities in me and Andrew Cunanan

This quickly turned into a documentary on Andrew's life. Mr. Versace seemed like a lovely man I love Versace (the brand) and want to hear more about him (the founder). I'm just finding out about him, I always thought Donatella founded Versace. This goes to show you how little is spoken about him in his documentary. I still don't know more than I already did.

Like most of u I just finished The Assasination of Gianni Versace and WOW, Darren Criss was amazing and so was Ramirez as Versace, what a riveting series! Never watched a show like this, it was a mind blowing story, I understand it was dramatized for entertainment but even if that story is 50% true, and I'm sure it's higher than that, it's still overwhelming and a very tragic, horrendous story

One of this murderer's greatest desires was fame. He couldn't get there because his talent stopped at telling elaborate lies. So, instead of fame he chose infamy. In all truth, Cunanan deserves anonymity, despite ABC's desire to make money off him and keep him famous.

As tragic as Versace's murder was, it should not overshadow the fact that Cunanan murdered four other people as well. Let's also please remember these "forgotten" victims that have been relegated to a footnote in history.
