Similar happened to me. I was taking my friends to work one day and this dude didn't know he could go, so I honked at him. He went, and I needed to go down the same road he was. My daughter was in the car too and she was only 5 or 6 months old. This dude starts going really slow and I'm like okay.. so I try to get around him. This is a two lane road, so I'm in the oncoming traffic lane. When I get up beside him he speeds up. So I get back behind him. He slowed down again. I tried to pass him again. Same thing happens. So I hit my horn. Then we're at an intersection and he pulls into the middle of it and blocks me from getting around and gets out of his car. Dudes charging at my car, and my two friends are literally yelling at this man to stop. He gets to my side of the car and I back up to get around him. He runs at the side of my car my infant daughter was on and PUNCHES the door multiple times and screams. Yes, I made a police report and my friends made statements. Dude had very recognizable stickers on his car. Dunno if they ever found him.

The Left Lane Law took effect in 2004 and reads: “A person shall not drive a motor vehicle in the passing lane of a highway if the speed limit is sixty-five miles per hour or more unless such person is passing other motor vehicles that are in a non-passing lane or turning left, or unless the volume of traffic does not permit the motor vehicle to safely merge into a non-passing lane.” Getting pulled over for using the left lane as a travel lane can get you a $100 fine and three points on your license.
@747-pilot6 жыл бұрын
Greg W the "left lane rules" apply only on interstates and freeways, not on 30 mph surface streets where someone may have to turn left, just so that you can go 20 mph over the limit in a school zone with tons of children playing around * rollseyes *
@lincmerc15816 жыл бұрын
@Greg W That only applies to the interstates. Not divided highways. Lol. Maybe you should take a left behind the school bus?
@lincmerc15816 жыл бұрын
@Greg W Courtesy involves not tailgating someone signaling a left turn on a divided highway. Tailgating is aggressive driving. That's not courteous. Allowing someone to pass on an interstate who is using the passing lane for its intended purpose, is courteous. Driving aggressively over the speed limit and staying in the left lane isn't. Pass. Mover over. 120mph is not an excuse to stay in left lane.

Good story all around. The cops and the girls meeting again was very positive. Good cops doing good things needs to be honored more often. It’s good to see the good guys win all around, while the bad guys get what was coming.

It’s because of crazies like this out there that I carry. Good on the girls!

And good that the law doesn't allow crazies to carry....right?

@@masonkanterbury3007 Crazies are going to get a hold of guns whether it's legal or not. I don't plan on bringing a knife to a gun fight.

I wish this news report told it how it really is so others can take the PSA from it; there are a lot of crazy people with all kinds of anger and other mental issues that turn violent. You can't expect wild beast to behave properly, thus you have to be cautious and apply common sense. These two women didn't deserve this experience at all, but they put themselves in harms way when they didn't actively avoid the crazy person by engaging it with a middle finger. Especially in America where anyone is likely to be carrying a gun, do not engage with crazy strangers.

mydna18shark What? That's exactly what this news clip said. They said that even the smallest thing like flipping someone the bird can take them from anger to rage in a second. They said when dealing with road rage avoid eye contact remain in the vehicle and call the police. What else did you want them to say? I think they did a great job. I would have thrown in not to beep at them but that's my opinion.
