Having a Jedi Grandmaster as the Supreme Chancellor would have been very efficient and ideal, but an ancient Jedi or a High Republic Jedi Grandmaster, not a clone war era Jedi.

Having a Jedi serve as both Grandmaster and Chancellor was the beginning of the downfall of the Jedi which led the way for Siddious to one day in the distant future to become the Emperor.

@@texugo_branco I think they’re referring to how the CIS schism, the clone wars, and palpatine’s eventual rule was caused by the Jedi becoming to intertwined with the republic’s political scene. The grandmaster doubling as chancellor was the first step down their political path. Just my interpretation, though.

there is no such thing as 'balance of the force' in star wars universe, the phrase has no meaning ascribed to it. and if that was possible for gray jedi to be more powerful with the force, then it wouldn't have been possible for light side/dark side extremes to control the galaxy (sidius, luke etc)

What if Grey's are literally there just to keep the galaxy from being destroyed & or to prevent one side from completely wiping out the other. Even when Luke fought Vader there were enough younglings left for him to start a whole school with so that would be why they didn't step in.

@@godbear2930 the goal of the dark side is selfish control and power, the goal of the light side is to enact the will of the force selflessly. you cannot gain more power by being neutral because you can't access what's beyond the line a gray won't cross, otherwise it wouldn't be gray anymore it would be dark. there is a reason there are no legendary grays to be rivals to characters like sidious, yoda, ani/vader, luke etc.

Also I've seen many Star Wars what ifs but tell me Star Wars fans on which what if does Anakin become the most powerful Jedi ever but still fall in love with Padme what if he was trained by Yoda Mace Windu Dooku Qui-Gon Jinn what if Anakin never turned to the dark side what if Anakin was trained since birth for what if Anakin stayed on mortis and did what the father said take his place and become as powerful as he did fulfilling his role as the chosen one

i think its funny that both the jadi and sith, chuses thery leaders baced on thery power lvl (strongest) and NOT based on things like knowlegth or wisdom!!! (and maby just maby this is way nether the sith or jadi knows what true power realy is and way this war betwin light and dark will never end, cus in the ned nether light or dark can exist without the other! and light is not = good. evrything is ether good or bad bepending on how and way it done/used, like "healing"-- if u heal a sith/tyrent/bad guy is it then a good act?

So Supreme Chancellor Palpatine wasn't the first Chancellor the jedi tried to assassinate , so that they could usurp power over the galaxy . The Jedi Order should have been completely purged from the galaxy and outlawed the first time . They were traitors to the Republic.
