@@MadMax22 he didn’t know the intricacies or nuances of his technique at the time. Regardless of the spirit’s rank, it can’t be forcibly absorbed by Geto if it still has a living master. That’s why he was only able to take Toji’s cursed spirit after Toji’s death. It’s sort of akin to Higuruma not knowing how his Domain would affect different people. He assumed that Confiscation would remove Sukuna’s cursed technique, but because Sukuna was holding a cursed weapon, the Domain took that instead.

It was established (I'm 99% sure) that to take a cursed spirit, it'd have to be non-bonded, i.e. no master/Cursed individual. That's why the inventory spirit rejected him at first (master/servant bond) and Rika needed to be unbound to Yuta. If it was as simple as getting near Rika OR the inventory curse, Geto would have won in both scenarios.

But Toji won due to his preparation - if he could "slam" Gojo without tiring him for days, he would've killed Gojo long before Amanai got anywhere near Tengen. Not to mention Gojo needed to protect Amanai, which Toji used as a distraction to sneak him. No it wouldn't be a 100% Gojo victory like it is post awakening, but without all the disadvantages Gojo had in that fight against Toji, realistically Gojo wins most of the time in a fair fight, due to his technique + the Six Eyes.

Yuki WAS lonely, by the way: she was the lone Special Grade who didn't fit in with anybody else, with jujutsu sorcery as a whole. Both Toji and her are dislocated in a sense. The thing is yuki never went on missions, the higher ups don’t have intel on her ct and gojo and geto had no idea what she’s capable of. So as far as those two and the rest of the sorcerer world, yuki is special grade by title but no one actually knew how strong she was. In hindsight tho she was probably the strongest back then unless you wanna make a case for toji. Either way she was definitely stronger than geto back then and probably gojo too if we assume she was as strong then as she is in anime timeline

Technically they weren’t grade 1s cuz it was never shown or been told, whether narratively, told by other characters, by gojo and geto themselves or even in the fanbook. We have no idea what grade they were in hidden inventory apart from the 1 year timeskip where we know they’re special grades. But before the timeskip the only thing we know is that they’re 2nd years. But they were 98% probably special grades before the time skip, their ct is too op especially gojo so based on higher ups rule they both classify as special grades, especially since the whole sorcerer community know who gojo is how and how strong he was even before the power up. Geto himself didn’t gain a crazy power up in the 1 year difference if at all apart from gaining more curses and he’s considered special grade by then, so no reason why he wasn’t one a year prior

Abt Jogo and Toji, bcz Jogo is slower than Toji and has a less comolicated technique, I don't doubt that with his insane precog that he could avoid all of Jogo's atacks and catch him eventually. 1 or 2 hits and Jogo is exorcised. This is bcz it's stated Jogo would die to teh atacks Hanami received in the good will event witch I doubt that Toji with special grade weapons wouldn’t replicate in 1 or 2 atacks. He would find a aay due to his superior BIQ. And domain doesn't work. + it's stated that he could have wiped the Zenij clan at any time witch means he can deal witth faster oponents pretty confortably.
