Theres plenty of fighting games where you play a character and control other characters for certain attacks. They already added a puppet character for the first time. Even tho mkx was my favorite mk1 has given characters some unique mechanics that you usuallynonly see from other fighting games

It will likely be one of two outcomes, and it depends heavily on the licensing. 1. If the Ghostface mask is exclusively licensed via Funworld, it will likely be either an original character or an existing MK character wearing the mask. 2. If Paramount Pictures is behind the licensing, than it could be any of the Ghostface’s from all 6 of the films, or just an unnamed character who is just voiced by Roger L. Jackson.

SpyGlass studios doesn’t own the rights to the Ghost Face character, so NRS could do what Dead by Daylight did and make their own unique version. However, I do have a prediction that it could be Skarlet, Nitara, or even a alternate universe Cassie Cage if Ghostface is revealed to be female. Ghostface has been more than one person and been both male and female, so it will be interesting if it's more than one character like in Scream lore.

I don't know what Ghostface's gears will be, it'll most likely be the mask itself or the knife, but imagine if NetherRealm chose the idea that the gears are the people who wore the mask. Yeah, it would defeat the purpose of the gears as every Kombatants who get the gears change also change on how they look, but it would make the most sense.
