Massive cost difference. Black orcs get fucked in a 1v1

Black orcs lose to normal chosen without their waagh buff. With it, they win but get mauled badly. Chosen of Nurgle are a direct upgrade, much tankier, higher MD, mark of nurgle too. Only disadvantage is that theyre slower. In practical terms, this means black orcs usually will be losing to chosen, especially marked chosen (with the exception of the Chosen of Khorne with dual axes, they do pretty well against those) but will badly maul them in a straight up fight, since your Waagh buff'll need to be saved for fights that affect the whole battle, not unit duels.

Yes that makes a big difference, if you cycle charge the Ogres you can win easily.

Thanks for the comment and suggestion. Ogres lose when charging and lose much worse when bracing. Ogres main use is the Ogre Charge without it they stand no chance.

That doesn't make sense. Elves out range ogres. They would have to charge.

Barely, should do at least 3v3 or 5v5 to get proper results, just an idea

Thanks for the suggestion and comment. I did this battle a few times, and the spears always seemed to just about win. However, Ogres can easily win if you cycle charge them but can't without. I do 5v5 for battles where the results are inconsistent after a few battles, then the 5v5 is used to settle it.

Ogres are pathetic on the battlefield, they probably could havewon though with some cycle changing

Thanks for the comment and suggestion. I did a cycle charge test and the Ogres won easily, I'll include a cycle charge round next time.

Please redo it where the ogres brace and the spearmen charge. And this doesnt look like AI vs AI, the troops of the player get a bonus in fights, whilst AI dont. So any AI will lose battles they should be winning to players

Doing this battle as player or AI makes no difference in this particular case, the Spearmen always win as they should being a Anti-large unit.
