I have a feeling Squirrelflight’s leader ceremony won’t happen until the end of the new book. She will start the journey there, then they’ll discover a wounded Frostpaw, and the whole thing will be postponed so they can take Frostpaw back to camp. This way with Frostpaw in camp, all 3 main protagonists of this arc will be in Thunderclan, and then Nightheart and Frostpaw will go on their quest. Major resolutions come from that, and grand finale is Squirrelstar. I might be forgetting some things though, but I think this will happen.

That would actually be interesting, though would they be able to find Frostpaw? She was near Windclan camp and coming the opposite direction. What COULD happen if going the postponed part cause of Frostpaw is starclan tells her to save her? But if she was close to wc camp why a patrol was out I still think it be a bit wierd. Windclan hasn't been really around much? Yet at the same time I feel they been acting off? I wonder how'd they'll act with finding a injured riverclan cat like right there by their camp. Tho it being postponed could be interesting maybe starclan is too on edge about the trouble in Riverclan? Or she has to do something before she can get them, but windclan finding frost and the tensions in the clans make it hard for her to get them until the end of the book.

Especially since Breezepelt's patrol had sensed Frost at some point even if they brushed it off at the time they might want to look through again just to see. It's definitely gonna be an interesting plot, part me wonders who cats would immediately blame(I can see some taking the chance to say a Shadowclan cat did it or something to make the tension worse.)

With the line in Squirrelflight's Hope about Briarlight's disability that was "supposed to be removed" in the next reprint, but never was, I doubt they would touch Briarlight with a 20 foot pole ever again. Even possibly Cinderpelt might be off limits.

Hell even Frecklewish went to hell for not drowning herself in a raging river flood. Plenty of cats have gone to the Dark Forest for hilariously awful reasons.

Assuming we ever get Squilf's ceremony in a future book, I think Loyalty would actually come from Leafpool. Leafpool and Squirrelstar's loyalty to each other is one of their most defining traits, and no matter what they two of them have each other's backs. It was loyalty to Leafpool that drove Squilf to do most of everything in the third and fourth arcs, when it wasn't love of her kits.

I really hope they do is make her leader and redeem Bramble. Most of us who loved Bramble hate what he became and switched over to Squilf. I still hold loyalty to him for his old character but I’m ready for him to die before they can defame his character anymore. Genuinely if a fox attacked Bramble and Squilf on the way to the moonpool and Bramble gives his last life to save Squilf I think everyone would be happy. While I assume the writing team will probably dump Thunderstar in because they love putting DOTC cats everywhere he is actually a surprisingly fitting cat to give Squilf a life. While they aren’t related like most of the cats on the list they do have a lot of similarities between them. He was a cat raised by his uncle the way Squilf raised the three, if anyone would understand that sort of love it would absolutely be Thunderstar. Thunderstar also had a lot of relationship issues that his family got a little too invested in, especially Clearsky. Thunderstar is also a cat who is very much guided by his heart, not necessarily to the degree Squilf is, but enough that him giving her a life is relevant. I really hope he gives Squilf a life for either strength or courage. Honestly the reason I probably associate them is because Thunderstar is literally just Lionblaze 2. Honestly I’m just glad Squilf’s arc didnt end with her dad dating her love interest like Thunderstar’s did lol.

I have yet to read the latest book (dgaf about spoilers) but I swear to god if leafpools life is about her being a mom and not a sister i will strangle god. The best love in that series is the love they have as siblings. Eta: if firestar shows up with graystripe instead of sandstorm i will cackle cause yes.

My personal slightly realistic list is: Firestar Sandstorm Hollyleaf Leafpool Her dead kits Graystripe Sparkpelt’s mate ( I forgot his name. Probably not going to happen but it would be cool.) Ferncloud ( it’s possible but not the most likely. I just really like Ferncloud and like to think she and Squilf were friends.) Rosepetal As for other options I’d put: Feathertail Shrewpaw ( if the authors remember) Dustpelt Moonlight Briarlight Purdy Bluestar

Given the pattern of leaders ceremonies it will probably be, in no particular order 1. a kit who died while they were a kit 2. a leader who was important to her, probably firestar 3. her mate, bramblestar 4. a random queen 5. a cat she is too young to know 6. hollyleaf, a life for empathy 7. Leafpool 8. sandstorm 9. a leader who was leader before into the wid. maybe heatherstar?

My hope for her lives: 1. Firestar - Strength 2. Sandstorm -Adventure 3. Leafpool- Unconditional love 4. Hollyleaf -Justice 5. Graystripe - Sacrifice 6. Moonlight - Doing whats right even if everyone you know is against you 7. Briarlight - Humor 8. Dustpelt and Ferncloud - patience and compassion for all cats 9. Ravenpaw - Following your heart Dustpelt and Ferncloud have to be together in this scenario because both had significant impact on Squilfs life, and Ferncloud’s compassion is meant to be the same gift given as Dustpelt’s patience. Squilf’s willingness to look beyond borders when she believes she is right played a huge part in why I chose Moonlight Ravenpaw, but also why I chose Sandstorm to give her the gift of Adventure, because Sandstorm during her life went on many expeditions to help cats beyond the border. Some others id be interested in seeing are Jake, Purdy, Stoneteller, Feathertail, Larksong, Shrewpaw, or Mistystar. Mistystar seems like kind of a wildcard but they did know each other decently well and I could absolutely see Mistystar giving Squilf a life given the current situation in Riverclan, especially if it came with the request that Squirrelflight intervene on behalf of freeing Riverclan.

Dustpelt can also only be in this ceremony if Ferncloud comes with him in my opinion, we don’t see her interact with Dustpelt enough for him to be there if he is alone, but she does interact with Ferncloud a lot given Ferncloud was essentially a third mother to Jay Lion and Holly. They could just sub both out for Purdy and still give the same gift since he wasn’t born in thunderclan.

Honestly I see them doing the following : Shrewpaw Firestar Sandstorm Leafpool Hollyleaf Dandelionkit Dustpelt Graystripe Moonlight Purdy Some can be changed- maybe Graystripe, Moonlight, Dustpelt or even shrewpaw to some DOTC character or some side character or something, but it's a general list

I think it would be a fantastic callback to have Honeyfern give Squirrel a life. Like she died to save a child from a snake, imagine her giving Squirrel a life for sacrifice or making the hard choices, one tragic female who wanted to be a mother to another tragic female who has been and has lost babies
