So she'll probably be like misty star, because now she'll have to lose all nine lives. I've noticed a pattern, Thunderclan leaders seem to last about 3 arcs. Firestar became leader the last book of TPB then Bramlestar at the end of OOTS, and now the 5th book of TSC Squilf becomes leader (if she doesn't die.) So if this is a pattern, she'll probably die around the end of the 10th arc, by then she'll be ancient, older than Misty star was. I don't understand why people aren't talking about this.

What if the "Nightheart is more like Firestar than you'd think" thing is leading up to Squilf getting murdered and Bramble turning into a Bluestar-esque depressed mess? And then paranoid Bramble chooses Nightheart as his deputy, despite having no experience and no apprentice (Like Fireheart in TPB) because he is (in Bramble's mind) the only cat he can trust. And then they have a whole friggin repeat of TPB in Nightheart, learning to be a good person, learning to be a deputy, and taking over Bramble's duties, since Bramble would just be depressed and staring at the wall. And then Bramble dying at the end of the arc in some heroic, bombastic, sacrifice to save Nightheart and he becomes Nightstar? My ability to come up with awful ideas scares me.

Firestar had an apprentice in TPB! And there's 3 kits ready to be approved right now, so this is a legal option if they were to make this writing decision (brambleclaw hadn't finished training his when made deputy either) I didn't explore this option because the assumption in this video is that squilf lives, but I believe it more possible than you'd assume OTL

@@Elektricknight Their relationship seems to be getting better, but Dovewing is the only one putting in work to make it that way. I have a couple examples I’ll leave under the read more section. All throughout Omen of the Stars, Dovewing’s constantly trying to include Ivypool and wants so badly to tell her about her powers but is shut down by Lionblaze and Jayfeather. In Dovewing’s silence, she is furious at her clanmates for the way they treat the dark forest trainees and makes time to hunt with them and do things with them as well as sticking up for them. Through a vision of Shadows, her only friend in ThunderClan, Purdy, dies; and then we get the creepy scene with Bumblestripe. Ivypool repeatedly asks why Dovewing couldn’t just be with Bumblestripe throughout the books and seems to be ignoring how unhealthy their relationship is as well as the fact that Dovewing just doesn’t like him. Ivypool is resentful of Dovewing after she leaves ThunderClan even though she has no reason to stay there. Her only real support at that point was her mother Whitewing, who- although reluctantly- supported her decision to move if that’s what made her happy. In the broken code Dovewing comforts Ivypool when she’s worried about Bristlefrost. And now, in a Starless Clan, Dovewing goes to visit her. Dovewing loves Ivypool, and is clearly trying to patch up their relationship. I believe Ivypool loves Dovewing too, but she doesn’t really make an effort to support her

I think Ivypool deserves the spotlight as deputy. She's a fantastic and dedicated warrior of ThunderClan, but I'm not entirely sure if the writers will do that. I would love to see more of Ivypool honestly, she's always been an interesting character. I’m afraid that they’ll try and wiggle Nightheart into a leadership position in ThunderClan. I genuinely can’t see him as deputy nor leader, I don’t think he’s mature enough to handle it appropriately and I also don’t think he’d be an interesting choice.

Yeah I think Lionblaze showed us that maybe a male deputy isn't what's best for ThunderClan right now especially when he straight up disrespected Squirrelflight and even calls her out for "mistakes" she makes all because he can't kill Bramblestars body and even gets beat up by Tigerstar 2 for being too ignorant. He even wanted to punish Shadowsight hinting that he should have killed him. Lionblaze's problem is he's too violent rather fighting than thinking and remember how it was hinted back in POT that he may be the one to kill Ashfur after he tried convincing him not to reveal Squirrelflights secret?

I'm actually very sad about Lionblaze. I've been his biggest fan since he was a kit and I wanted to see him become the Lionheart he was meant to be. Now it seems like he's become such a sad washed up grandpa. He was once the most fierce warrior in Thunderclan and other cats were terrified of him. He used his powers for good and to protect his Clan above all costs. Now he just uses his aggression mindlessly. I want to see him have a redemption and go back to being the holy paladin of light that I remember him being.

The aspect ab him being prone to violence and incredibly dangerous in battle while trying to be good is such a fun thing that he had going for him . I honestly did like his more notable aggression in the broken code arc though , as since he is a character with history with Ashfur, one that caused quite a lot of trauma when he was younger, his behavior in terms of the stress of the situation and sort of... Powerless-ness as he can’t just solve it with the powers he once had (?) made his behavior make sense despite the fact he was incredibly unreasonable . I do think though that the aspect of him being able to prove himself in regards of his violence was best done when the powers were still a thing and it’s best that it’s something that is nolonger a primary issue w/ him , having shown himself to truly be good and a paladin type character as you’ve said with the end of the dark forest’s reign . I do NOT Want more lionblaze chapters and I think the change of being someone who is righteous while being incredibly brutal and eventually changing into someone who still has that brutality but with the goodness in him being less prominent due to his past experiences is fun thing that tbc did .

I'd kinda like Cinderheart because it would serve an explanation why Cinderheart was a reborn cat. Being a leader would give her at least some importance and connection to StarClan. It's so weird how all cats that got reincarnations are the Power of Three.... and her? Literally the three most important cats to ever exist in the clans... and a random warrior. I think it would also fit nicely into her arc of choosing her own destiny separated from Cinderpelt. And I know that that's not really important, as there is a new team, but Vicky stated that if she was still writing Warriors, she would make Cinderheart a leader. It would also be a super interesting dynamic with Lionblaze. Would he be supportive of his wife? Would he be jealous? Also, fully honest here, I just generally want more content of her. This whole incarnation thing was so randomly dropped and I kinda hope that if she was made deputy, sooner or later there might be a Super Edition/Novella from her POV (but since the new team low-key forgot about every older arc *cough Tigerstar cough*, I doubt that they would make that into a story).

Knowing how the Erin's love treating her poorly, I'm with you on being worried that they're going to kill her rather than allow her to step up and become the rightful leader of Thunderclan. Ivypool has never been put in a sort of leadership position. Most of the time we were in her perspective, she was manipulated by the dark forest for being jealous of her sister. She probably would’ve continued to hate her if the three had never told her about the prophecy. Even than, she never fully got over her childish jealousy of Dovewing. It’s worse now that Dovewing left with ShadowClan. Most of the time she spent spying on the dark forest, she never told anyone else what happened there. Dovewing ended up finding out when they were going to attack anyway. I think the Erin’s should put her in some sort of position to earn a place as deputy, because overall she didn’t do much for it. She hasn’t got very good judgement either, seeing as she was a dark forest trainee. Other cats were trained in the dark forest and remained loyal to their clans. Once she matures more, I would love to see her as deputy though!

​@@warriorcatsfan6374 thats completely understandable! but as someone with complicated mostly negative family relationships I think a lot of people don't realise that very often how people act with their family is barely reflective of how they act with anyone else. With these two specifically, I think Ivypool still has unresolved trauma, so its kinda logical while not very nice what she does, considering culutral context of clan switching. Not to mention, while Dovewings new family is actually a family that often interacts, we barely see Ivypool be close with her own kits, much less her mate (WHO WE STILL DON'T KNOW IF HE STAYED IN THE NURSERY BTW) and if anything, building a family when she comes from a background where she didn't even want kids might make her worse instead of more mature. She was a cat who liked stuff that a typical bg she cat in warriors is simply not allowed to do because erins suck. While erins will probably never explore this, I can totally see her having kits actually making her more miserable for a good while, flaring up old wounds. Anyways, I dont mean this makes her likable, but I feel like this is way more explainable than most think while not actually having impact on her relationships outside the family. In any case, I see potential in this I'd like to see explored. She isn't perfect, and as you said quite rash, but honestly having a leader who isn't morally perfect but still tries to be would be so fun narratively, also i would love to see drama this could possibly bring to gatherings with Tigerstar II in the future lol. We havent had leaders having personal stakes and history in clan relationships for a looong while.

I want Ivypool to become deputy and then be killed off in battle because of how headstrong and quick to anger she is. I also want another "crap our deputy died in battle" moment and make it mean something like with Russtfurs death being so startling for lionblaze. It would also be interesting to see Thunderclan turn into the "we battle for everything!" Clan just for a bit. They've always been for the greater good since Firestar and it would be interesting to see Squilfstar immediately jump on fighting for a while with Ivypool fueling part of it until Ivypool dies in combat and turns the tide. Then she selects poppyfrost to help tame the battle hungry headstrong warriors.

Honestly one thing I think this vid really showcases is how little development background cats get now that there's like 500 cats in ThunderClan lol. Up through maybe Po3 I was able to confidently say at least 2-3 things about each background character, and it wouldn't have felt unreasonable for any of them to become deputy even if they didn't have the most prominent role in the story. Now our most likely choices are 2/3 POV cats and one sibling of a POV cat. Few other cats even stand out enough to merit consideration.

i realized and i think its very interesting squirrelflight is kind of following in the footsteps of her father when it comes to her promotion to leader. both she and firestar filled in the gaps where their actual leader lacked (bramblestar being all skrunkly and bluestar being mentally unwell) when they were still just deputies

I think whoever becomes Deputy will (hopefully) GET some an injection of Character Development just to participate. And while I loooove Ivypool I would be excited for many of the other choices. Sparkpelt has a good case and nepotism aside it'd be fun to see her get a chance to have more development that she should have gotten earlier. At the very least we can be pretty sure that ThunderClan will have a female leader AND deputy, and that's great.

I honesty would really like to see twigbranch become deputy. Like twigbranch has gone through SO much since we last saw her pov. She has so much more baggage now and I would very much like to see her perspective again and her growing into her own skin, like you said a perfect capstone to her character arc which seemed to be about identity. I also think having just twigbranch would help make her stand out to the fandom and make us care about her more. Honestly twigbranch needs more love. Sidenote I absolutely spotfur possibly becoming leader. Like out of all the cats we have available spotfur is the most qualified, has shown to have the most leadership qualities since I would argue firestar, if not more. Like spotfur started a rebel group and not only was a tactician but a politician. She networked getting influential cats on her side, she would be a force to be reckoned with as leader and I can only dream we will one day see her in that position.

Okay so before seeing the video I want to give my opinion ! For the record , I didn't red the broken code and the starless clan yet. I think the next deputy should be Ivypool (strong , respected , loyal and reliable. + she was a great and supportive mentor toward Twigbranch). I like Poppyfrost too (She is a background character but I picture her as a smart and talented warrior) By the way , I stopped reading warrior cats few years ago during "Dawn of the Clan" but thanks to Moonkitty voice I started reading warriors cats again (And I like it)

I’m really sad about cherry falls character being forgotten and rewritten as this mean she cat, because no offense but thunder clan was meant to be seen as too friendly in my eye and now that every other character is mean,grouchy or bad it feels like losing the happy bubbly cherry fall is just sad.

@@warriorcatsfan6374 I feel like out of any cat she and mole whisker would understand why sky clan was so important, I get that it’s interesting to add trauma to characters especially after the broken code, but it’s hard to sympathize with them when they’ve been drained of their interesting qualities, birch fall and mouse whisker were in the dark forest group and theirs once or twice where birch fall is standing next to the leader or deputy or something in alder paws books and this kinda frames him as this guy who wants to make up for his betrayal, I dunno I just wish the team made the extra effort needed for a book series like this to shape the background like it’s needed to be.

Honestly I do believe that squilf will become leader, if only for a bit because we need that drama of Sunbeam fighting her clan. Ain't no way the writers will miss that. Personally I think the next deputy should be Finleap. Not becausei like the guy, but he's the youngest warrior that's had an apprentice and switched clans, the latter being a huge thing in this arc. I see a lot of Ivypool votes and I hope it's not the case because Ivypool doesn't do diplomacy. She's quick to anger and super defensive over things that don't affect her, and she's more useful when it comes to battle strategies and fighting. Something the clans are trying to stay away from if they can help it.

Unrealistic as it is, I’d love to see Brighty as acting leader, especially if the Erin’s go RiverClan 2.0 on ThunderClan bc she is the only cat who is fully trained as a warrior and essentially a medicine cat. At least until StarClan picks a new baby to shove prophetic dreams into. Medicine cats are essentially second pseudo leaders to their clan and, for all the reasons already mentioned, Brighty would make a good deputy. Essentially, I think I’m hoping for a Brightheart monarchy here

The leader basically responded "well lets fix that," and gave him an apprentice as he became deputy.

Cinderpelt had looked up to Bluestar and wished to be like her, but after her accident on the Thunderpath, Cinderpelt had to give up that dream and became a Medicine Cat (until her untimely death from a badger attack and reincarnated as Cinderheart) Cinderheart accomplished all the things Cinderpelt wanted but never got the chance to do. Cinderheart successfully became a Warrior despite getting a major leg injury (she fully recovered when her aunt didn’t), she fell in love with a cat of Firestar’s bloodline (when Cinderpelt’s crush on Firestar went unrequited), and she had many kittens of her own (a luxury Medicine Cats aren’t allowed to have) Cinderpelt let go of her “Cinderheart life” and let her niece live her own life after she crossed off those things on that unfulfilled “bucket list” Even though Cinderheart is no longer…for lack of a better word, “possessed” by her aunt’s spirit…becoming clan deputy/eventual leader would be a great way to both honor her aunt and for Cinderheart to have a major accomplishment for herself ((Do I think it will seriously happen? NO! Probably Erin Hunter/the publishers will pick Ivypool or someone else, but this is just my opinion))

I really want one of the background characters, but that probably won’t happen. My only hope is that they go back to the earlier way of deputies and have like 2-3 die, so one of the younger cats can become deputy, but I feel that is very unlikely

I think if Honeyfern lived she would’ve been a good deputy, especially a mentor! I think she could’ve trained Alderheart for a bit well. She would’ve been fun but still taught, maybe getting a bit upset when he messes up, in PO3 she was very cautious, sweet, and loyal. If the team gave her an apprentice if she lived, I think she could’ve been such a fun character, even if she wasn’t deputy!

I would've loved to have Brightstar. She always was (at least in my memory) very level headed and responsible, as well as being kind and good at problem-solving. You're right in that we haven't really had a kind leader, let alone a kind she-cat leader, in a while and Brightstar would be perfect. Too bad she'd never get to be considering how old she is and the team's track record with handling disability
