Even more amazingly, it may be a low-risk high-reward deal for the Nets. If Zion sucks or remains hurt, you keep tanking for high lottery picks anyway for the next few years which they were going to do anyway. If Zion pans out, then you get a superstar who finally figures it out on only an expiring contract. HAHA I might do it if I'm the Nets.

CJ McCollum shows up. Leader, on court & off court. NOLA may clean house for picks to start from scratch, but CJ certainly will still have fans in NOLA because of how he approached the game. As for Zion, he's a potential #1 and those guys are rare. His contract also isn't fully guaranteed, and he's only 24 so I think there are a few teams that would want him. Brooklyn, Miami, Charlotte, Houston.

He makes the most sense to me on a team that is chasing a title and desperate, like the Warriors or Heat, or a 6 - 10 seed type team that wants him to put them over the top. Bulls would fit here maybe, I think IND or SAC too. I don't know if any of the teams I mentioned have enough to even make an offer, but I think that team situation makes way more sense than the teams that are tanking for Flagg, Ace, and/or Harper this year imo.

A team could definitely talk themselves into Zion. There are just not that many great players, and he is great or potentially great when he is healthy. He is just never healthy. And all his injuries are mostly related to his weight, so teams will think they can get him to put the fork down. Charles Barkley was able to do it, but this is a different world today.

I could coach Ben Simmons. Tell him he has to take 20-25 shots a game and that any teammate or coach that gets angry about his misses gets benched or let go. He doesn’t do or consume any media for a season as well. The only way he turns his game around is shoot, shoot and then shoot some more. His ball handling, passing and Defense are elite.
