How important is the piping? Going to be putting my tork intercooler back on for some subjective testing. I have a stage 1 tune on the car. Intake and downpipe. I have some options with the piping and was wondering what you think would be most efficient. 1) stock hot and cold side 2) 2 inch hotside, stock cold side. So 2 inch on both sides. 3)stock hot side, 2.25 cold side. 4) 2 inch hot side, 2.25 cold side.
@TorkMotorsports Жыл бұрын
If you are running stock turbo, stock piping works. Bigger turbo 2.25 piping and if you are actually big turbo like Garrett GT30 type, 2.5 inch would be optimal.

@@TorkMotorsports awesome. Thanks for the reply. Stock turbo. And your response pretty much lines up with my research. I did end up going custom 2 inch hot pipe, and stock 2 inch cold pipe. Just to keep everything uniform and to account for the extra length and bends on the hotside. But I agree that the stock piping is adequate. Power band just shifts upward a bit with the 2 inch hot pipe which I don't mind. A secondary question. I get a little bit of a pulsation from the turbo in some instances. I don't know if I'm hitting a limiter, or if maybe I need a better flowing intake. What do you think??

Are you guys ever going to do a tune and other things for the 6th gen 2.0L engines? Yeah, I know it ain't much but I'd love to see what you guys can do with those considering it's N/A. But, I've heard you guys are working on something for those engines anyways.

AEM intake for the 2.0L claims 8.15HP gain ($340). Another company claims a bit less but with more airflow and a more OEM Look. While Jun B.L catback exhaust kit claims like 3HP increase. That's all I know and jun B.L. is expensive. Starting at $999-1$400 Other websites to consider is shark racing, Tuscani customs, and KDMHolic. Someone told me it's possible to turbocharge these cause the pistons are semi-forged but I'd take that with a grain of salt. Oh and the 6½ gen mid refreshes are the exact same. I'll never understand why they thought that angular look would be good.

Hey I have a 20' Kia Forte GT 6MT, down the line I want to build up the motor and get about 350-400whp reliably with a built motor, the issue is where I should get those parts from and what parts to get. I want to have one of the fastest fortes in central Florida.

@TorkMotorsports4 жыл бұрын
The turbo is smaller on the ES and 2nd Gen VT's, but they have better pistons and a new WG control that allows them to make more power.

How much bigger is the cooler from stock? Is the cooler only bigger in thickness ? Cause width and height look the same to me. Unless I'm missing something.
@TorkMotorsports4 жыл бұрын
Its .5 inch taller and .88 inch thicker than the OEM core. This is a 300 HP rated core that is designed to work with the stock turbo and bigger bolt on turbos. I wouldn't use this core on a 350 or higher HP build. There are already intercoolers kits on the market for big turbos, this intercooler was designed around the idea of the car being stock, or mild turbo upgrade and tune.

Would there be any gains with this on a 2019 + elantra gt n line, or veloster, due to the ecu limiters?
@TorkMotorsports4 жыл бұрын
The factory HP and TQ gains are considerable because of the restriction inside of the factory intercooler. Even with the ECU limiters in place, this upgrade still nets 20 WHP gains in the upper RPM band.
