@michelle32855

@@greggalbright9849 I agree. I may be wrong, but I think this one here was done when she was quite a lot younger, and I do know that at one time she was having some mental health issues (very serious depression) and did some self-medicating. In "Blind" with Joe, she seemed more mature and while she always gets really into her performances, more controlled.

As she's gotten older, she's only matured and her voice has aged like a fine wine. Check out some of her newed stuff for sure. "Caught out in the rain" is a great one. Also check out "Your Heart is as Cold as Ice" and "Fire on the Floor." Another really beautilful song from her is "Home." As previously mentioned, her stuff with Joe Bonamassa is ridiculously great. "I'll Take Care of You" and "I'd Rather Go Blind" are real standouts from their Amsterdam show.

Beth is unparalleled. She wrote that song when she was 16. Best voice, best performances, greatest emotional connection, and she is a fine musician, and obviously songwriter. There is no one better. Try Bad Woman Blues, I'd Rather Go Blind (Beth and Joe in Amsterdam), Black Dog.

In my humble opinion, Beth Hart is the current reigning Queen Of The Blues. Nobody does it better than Beth. You are so very lucky to have discovered this amazing woman. She’s not only phenomenal solo with her usual band, but she has also performed with and for some of the most talented guitarists in rock and blues history. Jeff Beck, Joe Bonomasa, Eric Gales, and Warren Haynes to name just a few. You have stumbled upon a very deep 🐇🕳. One that you should definitely dive headlong into. ✌🏼😎♥️

I say this all the time, I just love when someone new hears this performance. She is amazing, one of the best blues/rock singer in the world. This entire concert is amazing. The reason she thanked the audience for coming is this was a comeback concert for her, she was fresh out rehab and also was diagnosed bipolar 1. The first venue they were going to have this concert was sold out quickly and they moved it to this bigger venue. She was so very thankful people came. You need to jump into the Beth Hart rabbit hole. There is so much more out there she does. Still performing amazing concerts. If interested I will suggest more songs. You can listen to any song from this concert it is all on KZbin. She did some amazing work with Joe Bonamassa, and just recently did a tribute to Led Zeppelin album that is worth hearing. There are a few videos to some of the songs out there.

I’m 63, so I was quite young when Janice Joplin was in her prime, and I loved her voice and the power she put behind it…she really connected to people, because you felt she had lived every song she sang. She also wasn’t one of the corporate-manufactured musical celebrities that are all over the place these days. I understand the comparison that many people make between Janice and Beth…both posess a remarkable voice, a commanding stage presence, surround themselves with equally great musicians…etc. etc. Speaking for myself, I consider them mostly equal, but do give the edge to Beth. She has truly lived the blues, gone to the darkest corners, faced the vilest demons, and (unlike Janice) was able to emerge from the experience not only alive, but stronger for it. I won’t go into her backstory here since there is a lot of information out there regarding it that is easy to find. I’ll just say that Beth is loved by so many people because she is one of us. She is sweet and humble, very much aware of how fortunate she is to have gotten to where she is today. She was surrounded with good people, particularly her husband, and I think we are all very fortunate for that as well. There are a lot of great Blues singers out there, but I think Beth is the best of them all because she brings the authenticity of her background to every note she sings, and you don’t need to listen very closely to hear that. Beth is 100% real, and I hope she sticks around for a very long time!

The first time I saw Beth Hart was at Chapman College in 1999 for $5! I've seen her 4 more times (paid a lot more than $5) and she puts her heart and soul into every performance. What a power house this woman is! I recommend you watch one of her early TV performances of "Leave The Light On". I believe it's listed on KZbin as "Beth Hart-10 years after Star Search". She gets a well deserved standing O from the audience.

She's had that voice and energy since she was like 15. Back in the early 90's, long before American Idol, she was a contestant on Star Search hosted by Ed McMahon. The format was two singers would perform and the audience picked a "champion" who would then perform the next week. She was the longest running "champion" in show history. There are a few performances on KZbin but here's one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZ7QhYOlmZ5mn9k (skip to 3:16)

Winners were chosen by a 4 judge panel In 1993, 21-year old Beth ran over her competition for 13 straight matches and won the $100K top prize for Best Female Vocalist. The victory didn't lead to anything, participating in the show at the time was considered a career killer, and the money lasted her about 8 months. The following year, while singing on the streets of Santa Monica, she was spotted by music manager David Wolff who was able to sign her to Atlantic records within 3 weeks--he's still her manager to this day. (10 of the 13 performances are available on YT).

I believe this was in 2004 she was 32 here, she is now 52 and still performing strong. In this performance she was 3 months out of rehab having a drug and alcohol problem that almost killed her,she is quite open about. She won Star Search in 1993, walked away with $100,000 dollars, she admits, "I blew it all." She had a record contract with Capital Records and had a hit" LA Song" in 1999 but they had to let her go because she couldn't get her drug and alcohol problem under control. She finally licked it, with the help of her husband and is still performing today. One tough,very talented lady.
