I was in N.Y.C. years ago and was caught in a huge downpour and was with my mom. I was soaked through and our hotel was in Jersey. The closest shop was The Gap, definitely NOT my style of clothing, but I needed something to replace my clinging silk dress. My mom bought me a pair of jeans and a black and natural striped v-polo shirt. I felt so damned preppy! Like I was a totally different person! I’ve been listening to Primus pretty regular for the last 20+ years and I’m still blown away by the caliber of their playing. This lineup, with Brain kicking ass on the drums, Claypool playing the bass like a lead guitar , and Lelond absolutely shredding on the guitar is still my favorite Primus lineup.

I feel like Jay Lane and Herb have a very similar style of drumming and Brain is very different from the two of them, style-wise, so I was very interested how some of the classics sounded with Brain on drums. And he kills it! I like how he makes them his own and doesn’t try to just mimic the parts on the albums. Good shit!
