That goes hand in hand with the Doctor at the end of "The Wedding of River Song" saying he got too big and it was better that everyone think he was dead. Granted it was tied a half-assed means of whiffing avoiding the prophecy surrounding Trenzalore, but still, we never really see him attempt to fade into the darkness. It might have been interesting to see him attempt to take on a new identify or try to assist in less direct ways.

Asylum of the Daleks is one episode that I think is stupid. Example, some of the Daleks are supposed to have survived Exillon, when in fact Galloway hid on board their spaceship &blew them all up. Moffat Dalek stories were not the best.

Ok not bad, but he Master in the movie has already been dealt with by various media, books and audios. They all use pretty much the same point, the snake like creature is a Deathworn morphant native to the Daleks homeworld of Skaro the Master swallowed a deathworm before going into danger, where it became dormant and lived inside their body. If the individual was killed, the deathworm absorbed their essence, body and spirit, and lived on in their remains, even in ashes if the body was burned. As soon as it could, the deathworm would seek a new host, taking over the host and then dying, allowing the spirit to live again in a new body. The Master transferred his spirit and soul to the worm and became dominant part of the worm. How the cult of Skaro survived is explained in Doomsday/Army of Ghosts. The Void ship they were in the space between universe's. The doctor himself said that being in the void you could wait out the end of the universe and it wouldn't effect you. So Rose's bad wolf act wouldn't have effected them, also i think rose only did it to the daleks in that time and the ones she only knew about which was the emperors fleet.

I heard that the native Skaro worm would actually prey on the consciousness of beings, yet the Master was able to overwhelm it and use it as a means of survival. I believe I got that from the DWM comic strip where the 8th met up with the female surgeon from the Movie because she'd cloned the Worm, and it became a very dangerous predator.

Granted the TARDIS' power source and limitations fluctuates a very great deal across canon. Inferno has the console have limited energy resources (though this could be explained by it being now "remote" and outside of the TARDIS itself) Death to the Daleks has it losing all power, Earthshock has Tegan stating that the TARDIS has "limitless power", Vengeance on Varos has it unable to move because of a lack of Zyton-7, etc.

To say nothing of the fact that we know, canonically, that adventures happen off screen, and that non-adventures also happen off-screen, so it's entirely possible that most refuelling stops are sufficiently uneventful that episodes aren't made about them.

Random list of complaints. Regeneration - Romana scolds 4, saying there was a class on Gallifrey where you learned how to guide your regeneration that he skipped. -11 tells Clara 10 was a bit of a narcissist so Meta/10.2 looking identical was intentional. -River had ZERO training and only knew she could share her regen energy with another Time Lord. So take her "all my remaining regenerations" with a HUGE grain of salt. (also: Melody > Young Mels/Mels > River is how I count for her. with Young Mels the one who finds her way from NYC to Leadworth and "grows up" alongside her parents. She also knows she can alter her age in LKH, and in HoRS, admits to having a nanogene nip/tuck to keep looking younger than 200.)

In terms of controlling what you looked like post regeneration, River seemed to feel this was possible too, since when she went from Mels to River she commented that she was focusing on a dress size, the implication being that she had at least some control over what she looked like.

Regarding the TARDIS having a fuel-tank - there's been a lot of re-uses of this, and based on the comments it wasn't even a novel idea to the revival. • The Tardis also needed refuelling in The Doctor's Wife - the Doctor said the ambient rift energy on House would do the trick • The iconic season 2 finale featured the Doctor's super-charging the TARDIS with a collapsing star in order to speak with Rose • Pretty certain the Doctor has performed a sun-scoop during an episode to fuel the TARDIS, although I think this was a throwaway line while the companions were admiring the external view • Pretty certain there was another episode where the Doctor made a throwaway line about the TARDIS charging while they're away, Clara era I think. The TARDIS seems compatible with a lot of fuels, but the Doctor has seemingly learned not to wait until it runs empty to charge and also has found other ways to charge it in-flight.

We don't know that much about the Master really, so we don't actually know how he has done some of the things he's done, like stealing the body of Nyssa's father. Added to that he appeared to escape from the Doctor's TARDIS in The Christmas Invasion, as an energy thing. The TARDIS doesn't actually need to get rift energy all the time, the Doctor was just using it for a quick refuel. Remember the TARDIS is an old model and he may have done it, until he could fix whatever the problem was.

Regarding the TARDIS having to refuel via rift energy: Prior to the new run, it was powered primarily by the Eye of Harmony (which was mentioned in a previous point.) The Eye in the TARDIS isn't the *actual* Eye of Harmony, but a block transfer computation representation of the real Eye on Gallifrey, and is the receiver of an energy transfer system, the other end of which was Gallifrey. Which no longer existed in the universe at the point the TARDIS needed refuelling....

In terms of River and her lives 11:17 - I think you need to up the number she had used up before helping the Doctor. Baby Melody - regeneration we didn't see - girl in the astronaut suit - Mels - River , meaning 5 (at least) used up. I'm including one between baby Melody and the girl because the girl was certain of what was going to happen, which probably means she has regenerated at least once before this. I doubt that her kidnappers telling her as part of her training that this was how her body works would be enough to keep a little girl that calm about the whole thing, so I think she must have experienced it for herself. Just don't ask what the Silence and Melody's instructors were doing with her prior to this that would have used up one of the little girl's lives :-(

Literally. I swear they just wilfully misinterpret stuff when it's convenient to them i.e. 8:40 where he calls the void ship a TARDIS. It's not a TARDIS, it existed *outside* of the universe, therefor it would've been immune to The Bad Wolf Entity's attack in S1, but if he admitted that their whole point would've been useless. I vaguely remember them omitting parts of the plot of "Dalek" as well in an earlier video, where they argue that the Dalek's inner conflict with itself is out of character for a Dalek, naturally they leave out the part where it's supposed to have assimilated Rose's DNA, and that this Dalek's experiences in the episode being new to it and out of it's comfort zone is LITERALLY THE WHOLE HOOK OF THE STORY. God damn man, really a tutorial on how to make positively bad, wilfully wrong videos.

I think the reason that the rift energy is possibly never mentioned again is the fact that it doesn’t ever need to come up again, possibly adding minutes onto the episode without really making the story go forward. Like how people going to the toilet is never really mentioned because it doesn’t add to the plot or anything like that. The reason it was mentioned then was because it was actually quite a big part of the story and it was needed to be spoken about because it had a big impact on the plot itself. Or perhaps they just couldn’t be bothered to speak of it again.

Because Chibnall has absolutely no clue what he's doing and doesn't care about anything that came before. I mean he gave the pre-Hartnell version of the Doctor a police box TARDIS despite the fact that Hartnell's TARDIS didn't even look like that when he initially stole it. But yeah, he just decided to ignore River's entire character to force in the Timeless Child plot which, as you say, ruins everything. Then again I wouldn't put it past Chibnall to just fix the issue by saying Rory was secretly a Time Lord or something - it would make about as much sense as everything else he's written. Or maybe because the Doctor is the Timeless Child just being conceived near him gives you the power of regeneration. Like you though, I'm just going to stick with being conceived in the TARDIS as why she can regenerate.

Plus we have seen Clara have to talk the TARDIS into letting her on board to save the Doctor . It's possible that the TARDIS allows others who have a connection to the Doctor to fly the ship .....when she allows it

The novelization of Doctor Who the Movie, explains that the Master escaped his execution by transferring his mind into a snake-like entity called a "morphant." The book 'The Eight Doctors' which is set just after Doctor Who the Movie, elaborates a little on this explanation.

I think too many writers wanted to be the one who explains why they can have new actors continue the Doctor past his set 13 lives. Just have him not know until the end that the Time Lords ditched the regen limit to keep as many soldiers as possible around for the Time War.

The 10th Doctor explained why he didn't actually Regenerate in Journey's End. Here's the quote: "Used the regeneration energy to heal myself, but as soon as that was done, I didn't need to change. I didn't want to, why would I? Look at me! So, to stop the energy going all the way, I siphoned off the rest into a handy bio-matching receptacle. Namely, my hand." Though that does raise the question, does it count as an actual Regeneration? If not, that leaves one unaccounted for, which could explain Ruth's Fugitive Doctor.

To quote 11th Dr. “I used up two lives, I had a bit of a problem with vanity” this explained why 11 was the last of the original line. Meaning that yes the Dr. himself thinks it used up one of his lives but problem 1: The dr. Doesn’t know this happened as he starts arguing with the TARDIS interface in “Let’s Kill Hitler” about 1 series later in “Angels Take Manhattan” the Dr. uses regeneration energy to heal Rivers broken arm, where did the energy come from? Why didn’t the dr. know the hand trick counted? I don’t know it’s never explained in an episode. However it would make sense with continuity if the 13th life that never happened (not Jodie she’s the start of a new cycle) somehow became the Valeyard, but I doubt it.

Seems a bit flippant though, and doesn't appear to match the scene from Journey's End. It is possible that he assumed this counted as a full Regeneration, despite it appearances, because he did not know of any other Regenerations. And to add to your list, there's the Regeneration Energy the 12th Doctor gave the Daleks in The Witch's Familiar. As for the Valeyard, instead of an actual Regeneration of the Doctor isn't he supposed to be an amalgamation of the Doctor's darker sides between his 12th and final incarnation? That would be the Dark sides of Doctors between the 10th or 11th Doctors and the future final Doctor.

Regarding the master turning into a weird terminator goo snake: the way I see it The Master is basically a Lich and I wouldn’t be surprised if they found some space magic from the sisterhood of karn that allowed themself to break their body down to basic forms as a way to temporarily hold off the process of death. PS: but yeah the Master is a scifi Lich so just always expect them to do something weird to not die using some sort of “I’ll explain later” methods.

The clip you showed of Peri & the Doctor entering the Masters Tardis is the Ranis from Mark of the Rani. How the Master became a snake like creature is explained in Terrance Dicks novel the 8 Doctors. The Master (Ainley one) goes to a planer and give him the creature which allows him to cheat death. .In Army of ghosts its a void ship NOT a Tardis. As for the Tardis stopping for fuel, Vegence on Varos, the Doctor said the Tardis needs zyton 7 to power it. The whole Master as a liquid like snake is explain in other media as him using a alien snake like creature and bond himself with it to outlive his death by the daleks...And as for the TARDIS needing to refuel, I think it's because that gallefrey was gone. At least thats what I always assumed, because they always said the power in the TARDIS came from there.

theyre are no other mentions of the tardis having to stop for fuel. i can think of two of the top of my head ( although one is in a novel) - and neither are rift energy related. there was some crystal or something on one of the planets the doctor went to- i think it was the one with the death games and mutation thing (classic series iirc)

In the doctor who movie, the snake thing is called a morphant. It is an animal on scaro. The master stole its body just like he did Tremas in the classic series. And in parting of the ways the Daleks are not in a TARDIS, it is a timelord prison. And the void ship was neither. And the hand was kept by jack not the doctor. The doctor just had it because jack gave it to him. It's not a timelord thing it was luck and the doctor says how it worked. Then the hand regenerates into another david Tennant. And finally when river gives her remaining regeneration to the doctor. The poison she used on him killed those lives until it couldnt any more living both river and the doctor with only one life left.....at the time. I dont like being that guy, but your research and knowledge of the show has dwindled and it shows. Lacking in knowledge or not caring. But I wish you got back on the ball before you get trial of the time lorded and someone gets replaced without being told

I'm old and have seen most of classic Who so the Daleks, The Cybermen, The Silurians, etc are part of what I expect of Dr Who as well as the invention of new monsters like The Weeping Angels. When I was a kid in the sixties, we built snow Daleks in the snow and they appeared on lots of Dr Who stuff, and were toys, and if you couldn't impersonate them, you weren't a real fan.

The early years had their troubles but they had something major that Mr. Moffat and Mr. Chibnall were not able to bring to new Who......charm.
