During tournament days in early 90s, there were tons of anglers that were driven to use that mouth piercing cull trick. Most used old metal shower curtain hooks with different color bobbers on them. None of them were ever in my bass boat & I personally just don't use them. Now with that being said,..... If you catch fish that eat surface baits, just use a little caution. There's been numerous reports of all kinds of things in a basses mouth during these times. I landed one recently that had eaten a large hornet. It was still alive and I had to go change pants. I laughed later but it was far from funny when I realized it at first. Pop Rs still work like a dream 👌

At first I actually thought it was from my hook set lol. It could be or from someone sticking a scale through its lip too. Either way, I thought it would be good to bring that issue to light. Penetrating cull tags aren’t all that bad but there are so many people who use them incorrectly. That’s why everyone should swap to non penetrating; just to be safe. I was just happy to see that someone caught and released this big fish. Thanks for watching!

@@COLE_and_JAY yep, usually really good in the summertime. If you don’t have a graph, put your kayak 50-60 yards from the pump thingie with it directly behind you and make long casts 12:00 to 4:00 and you should drag right over it. You’ll know cause you’ll feel some chunk rock on the hump. Big deep divers work great there too. The fish just seem to stack up there when nothing else works.

Will the parasites contaminate the fish ?

I’d like to know that also

These particular ones don’t affect fish. They come from warm blooded organisms

Hello Cole, I really liked that storage box that you have for hooks and worm weights. Do you mind telling me the name. I really like it and it would solve a lot of my problems. Thanks. Great vids.

My buddy got a parasite from drinking water out of a creek. Was hanging tree stands in 95 degree heat and he forgot our cooler of water about 12 years . He was sick for over a month. I’m so thankful I didn’t drink it! He’s a crazy man!

Yeah, drinking creek water is always sketchy no matter how clean it looks!

Jay, I love your channel but I have been wondering if you ever thought about fishing bass tournaments you fish more than any one I know, and it seems that you would have a very good chance of getting in the money. I made my living as a plumber and fished many tournaments in the late 80's and early 90's finishing many time 1 or 2 places out of the money at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri and you were fishing in this video with my favorite summertime bass bait. Please reply I'm just curious. Great video as usual.

I have fished a lot of tournaments, but not a ton recently. We did post a tourney vid a few months back and had a pretty good finish. Here’s a link to it! kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zl7XY52Vm7l7oc0
