A great video to see what it's actually like fitting one of these. I have one to fit too and now I know what I have to look forward too! :D Ignore the haters, they just love the internet and thank goodness for nice helpful people.

you installed it better than some if the company installers love your attention to detail

The feeder pipe of diesel heater not reaching the bottom of the tanks is a nice feature, you will always have a reserve to drive and not remain with no gas in the midlle of nowhere. If it's stops and it's cold, go! :) Nice job, it looks like you and your father can do anything!

Yes, very important not to heat your way to an empty tank! 😂

Cheers from Up old mechanic in Harper Texas. Take the fuel line off the outlet of your pump, and try to start it. Let it run until you see diesel come out the outlet of the pump then put the line back on. Then you might have to try to start at 3 or 4 more times before the fuel gets all the way to the heater. I like your inverter by the way I have the same one at my off-grid place. Hope that helps. If you need some more help I guess leave a comment in the comment section and we'll go from there. Don't give up you're almost there excellent job by the way and don't forget about the carbon monoxide.

Great video. I would suggest you extend the exhaust out from under your van, so your living area is free from exhaust gasses. make sure you have a carbon moxide detector in the living area.

I like to make sure that the exhaust points outside the bodywork of the van. There are a lot of weep holes in the bottom edges of the body that let water out and air in. You don't want the exhaust gases to find their way into those.

Great job. Might want to run the exhaust out from under the vehicle. Carbon monoxide. And for sure have a carbon monoxide alarm in the vehicle. Don't want nothing bad to happen to you. Great job excellent perseverance.

I agree, that's what I do. And the CO alarm is a must.

Thanks for making this detailed video, Jodie. We also have the Autoterm 4kW heater (and the Bobil hot water system) and I've been looking for someone else who has one to see if the noise ours makes outside the van is normal. Judging by your clip starting at around 33:20 I'd say yours is the same, so that's put my mind at ease. By the way, we were neighbours at Camp Quirky this year (on your sliding door side)! If I'd known you had this diesel heater I could have asked to listen to it in person... 🙂

Hi Jolie. If it makes you feel better it took me 6 days, mainly due to feeding off the vans tank. Most of these can be bled via the controller.

Haha I forgive you, and don't worry I have a carbon monoxide alarm with a display screen, so it'll tell me if there's even a low amount 👍

If you ever let the fuel level in your tank get low enough that the pump for heater sucks air, you may have to do the priming procedure I described. Good luck, any don't let the negative people get to you. You go girl!!!!
