Shelly's status as a super-assassin made me stop for a moment and realize how filled with death the series is. Despite the fact that Phoenix is not a detective, there are never cases where you deal with legal complications or robberies. It's always murder. Sure, no one boots up Ace Attorney to solve the 'exciting' mystery of who committed tax fraud, but seeing Shelly made me wish there was more, y'know, *lawyering* in the game where you play as a lawyer.

The scariest part about de Killer is that he could very much still be out there somewhere. I do admire how committed he is to the honor of his family's name. Despite being a literal professional assassin, you can't exactly hate him alone: he's doing his job. He's a force to be reckoned with. I would be interested to see him reappear in the modern era of the series.

I doubt even characters who have skill in using weapons such as swords (Zacharius), Katanas (Kazuma), etc would be able to survive De Killer (unless they got extremely lucky or for Kazuma, only use range *(and I only say range because of case 1 of adventures)* as I don't think close quarters combat will help anyone against De Killer, maybe except Dogen?)

Okay, the concept of a JRPG boss who has infinite HP, is very powerful, and the goal is to get a high score from how long you can last? That is way, way too cool. I almost feel like that's what fighting a post-game superboss in Dragon Quest should've been like, especially as some of them have been literal gods. Being able to beat an insanely tough opponent in X number of turns isn't quite the same though, so I'm pleasantly surprised a board game / RPG hybrid spinoff had this idea.
@paperluigi61327 ай бұрын
Considering that in Japan Dragon Quest is a franchise that has always appealed to all ages, unbeatable, high score based superbosses would not sit well with younger players.

@@paperluigi6132 It isn't like the DQ series hasn't already gone in unconventional directions before, see: literally any of the spin-offs. It being super popular in Japan, or whatever, would only mean that they have a wide audience they could cater to in different ways.

While I agree Shelly de Killer is canonically the most potent fighter, I believe there are a couple "honorable mentions" that should be brought up: *POTENTIAL SPOILERS* - *Shi Long-Lang* (Investigations 1 and 2); Interpol agent from Zheng Fa; he has shown to be far stronger than people give him credit for - in "Turnabout Ablaze", he managed to catch Franziska von Karma's whip *as it was about to hit him*, and despite being shot in the leg, he effortlessly captured and locked down dangerous assassin (and his partner), then continued investigation as if he didn't have a bullet stuck in his leg - *Sirhan Dogen* (mentioned; Investigations 2); blind assassin working for at least 18 years at the time of Investigations 2; despite being completely blind, having only his faithful dog Anubis as a guide, he was considered one of the best assassins there is, rivaled only by Shelly de Killer. Even though he was captured and incarnated before the events of Investigations 2, Dogen has proven he could easily escape the prison at any time ("The Grand Turnabout"), and that he had a lot of influence ("The Imprisoned Turnabout"), but decided to stay in his cell with "young acolyte" and his 'friend' - *Dai-Long Lang* (Investigations 2); even though only mentioned by his son Shi-Long (Dai-Long died before the events of Investigation 1), it can be assumed that since he was President Di-Jun Huang's bodyguard, he was just as potent as his son. No direct feats of strength/resilience were mentioned, only feats of persistence and inteligence (he managed to solve SS-5 Incident on his own, yet decided due to many factors take the secret to his grave), but given that Shi-Long Lang has never self-awarely lied, it can be assumed he was very strong individual - *Simon Blackquill* (Ace Attorney 5 and 6); prosecutor and self-proclaimed "samurai", he may not look like a fighter, but he has shown some impressive skills, like breaking his shackles or cutting things with his fingers (i don't remember the name of the technique, but apparently it's a real thing). Plus, given how many different people he has met in prison, he has probably met at least one fighting instructor and took some lessons from them. - *Kazuma Asogi* (Great Ace Attorney 1 and 2); defense attorney turned prosecutor, Kazuma had shown several times his katana, Karuma, wasn't just for show as he was very skilled in sword combat; he was even picked by Seshiro Jigoku as an assassin to kill Scotland Yard officer Tobias Gregson to "tie all loose ends" involving "Professor's" demise. - *Barok van Zieks* (mentioned; Great Ace Attorney 1 and 2); one of London's best prosecutors, as well as the most infamous one, due to "Curse of the Reaper" that surrounded him. Even though he didn't kill anyone directly (if we can count "prosecuting someone to death penalty" as indirect kill), he wasn't incapable in direct combat as he was able to defeat several thugs at once without sustaining any injuries, twice. Even though he had help in both of those attacks, it was still 2 vs several, so it was still impressive. - *Seshiro Jigoku* (Great Ace Attorney 1 and 2); Supreme Court Judge and Japanese Minister of Civil Affairs; I dare to say he's physically strongest of them all, as he managed to destroy witness stand with his bare hands (twice!) and is capable of choking out grown man, if not killing one, in a several seconds top. He also knows martial arts, which combined with his size and strength make him a force to be reckoned with.
@bluexeno27447 ай бұрын
Another honorable mention should in my opinion, even though it was probably only an oversight by the developers, be (Spoilers for Ace Attorney 2 ahead): Pearl Fey: She RAN as an eight-year old from Kurain Village to the court, which takes 2 hours by train. Even if the train would only run at 50km/h (~30 miles/h), that would mean that Pearl ran 100km (60 miles) within a few hours, as an eight year old. Considering that she probably did't have an acurate map fom Kurain Village to the court, this is even more impressive. And while I'm not sure if she could fight in any way, she could probably outrun all of ther opponents with that speed and stamina. If we count spirit channeling, she could probably channel a master fighter to fight within her body and win like that.
@Rhythm_Haruka466 ай бұрын
Another thing for Asogi (and MAJOR, VERY BIG SPOILERS for both tgaa:a and tgaa:r): He managed to survive being pushed by a girl and tripping over a cat (which doesn't sound impressive until you realise 1: He's the victim and 2: HE SURVIVED WITH BRAIN DAMAGE. It's clear that this incident was very dangerous due to that) And for Zieks, he can break wine glasses with *ONE* hand, and doesn't even struggle to do so.

It's only natural that Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth wouldn't recognize Shelly de Killer's face since he never saw him, but he did recognize his emblem on the calling card yet not the same emblem on the ice cream salesman "John Doe's" coat or uniform? Also Shelly de Killer must be pretty good at his job to still be at large in the ace attorney universe from both Phoenix Wright justice for all and ace attorney investigations 2. Also the only two people who have been known to give Shelly de Killer a hard time are Ethan Rooke and Sirhan Dogen.

One thing that makes De Killer so dangerous is the fact that he is smart. For someone as skilled as he is, being able to correctly read the situation around him and not take unnecessary risks is a reason why he's so good at what he does and why he was never caught, even though he was injured by an exceptionally skilled security guard in Ethan Rooke. There is no way he would risk a battle to the death against another highly skilled assassin like Dogen and his mastiff pet (a quite dangerous and strong breed at that), plus an interpol agent and a detective while having his left arm impaired.
@catalyst5397 ай бұрын
when was Anubis’s breed stated?
@MaverickHunterVile7 ай бұрын
@catalyst539 Take a good hard look on a black mastiff breed, and you'll see that Anubis (or whichever name he'll receive in the official translation) was closely based on one - more specifically the Tosa breed. Even the Ace Attorney wiki acknowledges this.

I guess it's either that a)Jabberwock doesn't have HP at all (that is to say, it's always 0), and only records amount of damage it takes. Than poison, which, I assume, makes %MaxHP damage, will read off that 0, and start dealing insane amounts of damage, owerflowing all over the place, eventually triggering something that oauses Jabberwock to be defeated. b)Otherwise, he just have that much HP, and if you hack your characters to be undefeatable, you will wear HIM down after a few days. Unfortunatelly I don't have a game to check it, but it's still something to think about.

Can be consider Winston Payne one of the weakest characters in gaming, then? Edit: I just thought of a possible idea for a future SCIG video. Factions. The idea of not an individual character but an entire civilization or army you can choose or fight against as a player. Of course, it is a special concept for a video dedicated to strategy games. Let's say, for example, the most optimal civilization in Age of Empires II or some of the op custom made factions from Warcraft and Blizzard franchises.

That seems rather weird since one of them would always lose out from that deal. (unless De Killer kills Maya after a not guilty verdict anyway). But if that were the case then he would have killed Maya in the end anyway since Morgan likely would not have tried to blackmail De Killer. Thus, De Killer would cancel his contract with Matt Engarde but would likely still fulfill Morgan's request.
