I find it hilarious that in the earlier GTA games, water was the most feared substance known to mankind. Also, maybe at 7 star wanted level, they start deploying SEAL teams or calling in the Air Force to strafe the area you're in.

@@Vince__ I lived in Hawaii for a year. Honolulu, specifically. I wouldn't touch that water with a 50 foot pole. I went to the north shore if I wanted to go to the beach. Less people and less trash littering the streets.

Don't forget that you can easily boost yourself with the canon. Just aim behind your tank and start blasting, you will surpass the top speed of any car in each game. (Except maybe San Andreas?) I remember that when I was done with the games story one of my favorite things to do was to activate the flying cars cheat and start blasting with the tank into the air, very majestic, would recommend.

I loved doing that as well, using the tank cannon makes you go CRAZY fast, and like you mentioned the cars flying cheat! With most other cars, you don't really "fly" as much as you do glide, since you don't really get any speed once you're in the air. But with the Rhino tank you can cannon to boost your speed and keep flying even better than the plane can!

What's funny about the GTA 3 tank is that it's the only one where any impact blows up other cars. From Vice City onwards it has to be at least moving a bit to make things blow up, but this one just does it even when staying still lol

One thing you should've mentioned, is that the San Andreas tank can also shoot down targets above and below you, unlike III and Vice City.

I remember that in Saints Row the Third, tanks of all manners of stripes don't necessarily blow up most street vehicles--they just flatten them. Like, actually. On paper, not as impressive as an explosion, but it's a lot friendlier to your tanks, especially once the souped-up hi-tech ones start coming into play, which are even MORE absurd.

SR3 had the seventh wanted level; that gang task unit that's sent in is absolutely *absurd.* It'd be like if Space Force with functional UFO-style ships went to Detroit or San Francisco and just *went to war* with the gangs there. *Space. Force. With lasers.* If the swat and FBI are 5, army is 6, EDF-level anti-gang task force is pretty much level 7. *Then, I now propose, what would Level 8 be?*

My favorite thing to do in the Rhino tank in GTAIII is to aim the gun behind me and fire while driving for a boost of speed! Nothing can stop a rocket propelled tank! (except the water of course)

The rare and cryptic but obtainable invincible vehicles of GTA: San Andreas will hold dear to my younger self; mine even flew! The Maverick Helicopter in the mission Misappropriation, if you can get it to unlock(through killing the target right when he opens the door, iirc? I don't actually remember, it was a complete accident), is invincible to almost everything(I believe drowning it in water will do it in, but absolutely nothing else). Those extra rare treats are all locked behind either glitches or are mission-specific vehicles, so that's the main downside.

Back in the PS2 days of Vice City I would get a tank and noticing it had recoil I aimed BEHIND me. This resulted in two things. One Insane top speeds and 2 finding out doing this caused the tank damage. After enough shots it'd blow up.

Well, fire on the undercarriage is definitely the last thing you want to happen while in a tank. Shame that they skimped on adding a fire-extinguisher system. :B

Seems like a fittingly powerful reward to get your hands into one of those *assuming that finding an unmanned tank to take isn't possible (and thus have to steal it from a 6-star ambush).* ...but I know its GTA, so there's probably at least a few you can take for a ride free of charge 😂

I think the tanks just have a thick layer of protection so big that it is even out of range of rocket launcher's blast radius and by extension car explosions. The hurtbox is concealed so deep or is so small that any normal weaponry can't properly damage it but fire gets through tank collision and actually damages it.

You can get a limo in gta 3 via a glitch that is immune to every kind of damage, you can even ram it into everything and it won't even dent at all

And now you know why I like the Battletanx games (although everyone else is in a tank too in those). What about 4 and 5? I haven't played them, but it would be a missed opportunity not to escalate this further still. If the tanks and soldiers fail to stop you, have them send in Apache choppers armed with missiles... that you can steal if you are clever. And if *that* fails... carpet bombing by jets? I do enjoy watching the '999999 speed' GTA4 series. If that kind of cheat exists in GTA3, then maybe it's possible to flip a tank over that way?

The Rhino Tank is such a breast. The whole world could blow up, but so long as nothing hits it or lights it in fire, it will survive.

Why couldn't these have been in Kalos so people could destroy that shithole instead of stupidly saving it? Anyway, I _thought_ you could've reached 6-star wanted level with the tank in GTA2 area 2? Or maybe I'm just thinking of how areas 2 and 3 had gangs with flamethrowers... You'd probably instead have to pull a DDR and instead of going up, add sublevels in between the stars, so that old 6 becomes a 10? I get the feeling armor-piercing rounds aren't the explanation you're looking for when it comes to police helicopters being able to damage the tank. That stinger reminded me of how I've occasionally had my own videos recommended to me.
