Hi there plz tell me..y those triplets wag7 been coupled as they are not carrying any coaches with them..and secondly doing so many rounds.. Like what's the purpose..one engine can go on its on as well..hope u know what I mean

sony guhagarkar these wag-7 are banker locomotives. Banker locomotives means the one which are used to push the train from behind so it can reach he top of ghats. Its compulsory for all train to get bankers coupled at karjat (station at lower ground) and uncoupled at Lonavla (station at higher ground). The mean see level of Karjat is 62 meters and of Lonavla Is 650+ meters. So now you think how much altitude the train has to climb.. So once the train is being pushed till Lonavla these bankers gets uncoupled and sent back to karjat for next duty. They can come down either with train of light weight. Depends on conditions. I hope to understood. If still have some problems you may freely ask again.

When the bankers are not pushing or braking the bogies, then why do all the three locomotives have their pantograph up??? Isn't the WAG 7 capable of pulling the two locos behind it...??? Sorry if i sound stupid, but i don't get it....is there anyone to answer my question???

navin babji am always ready to Reply as i dont keep my viewers unrepiled... By the way dont think that its stupid question!! .. And for you question of pulling two WAG-7... Its just a punny load.. And answer for you Pantograph question is that... While they move in three's all three are kept working so that air in air compressor should be maintained, so as it comes down its ready for next duty... Hope you got if..if not do ask me in personal... I will give my mail id if you are not able to understand here.. 😊

Pranits Railworld ya i do get it, but if we talk about air in air compressor duty, all the three locos are connected and the brake lines are connected too, right, so that means the air pressure is almost similar in all the three locos...so why the pantograph???🙁🙁🙁

Abban Ahmad Bankers are those Locomotives which are used in Ghats section to push the train up the Ghats. Bankers are coupled behind every train which is going to climb the ghat. And when the train reaches up the ghats bankers are uncoupled and sent back down the ghats alone or with some freight as extra locomotive
