When making tortillas, you definitely got to buy a press. It’s a nightmare without it. With it, goes super quick!

I had a Mexican neighbor teach me how to make corn tortillas with masa. She used a press and lined it with a folded over sheet of plastic. I use a piece cut out of a freezer grade zipper bag. The plastic bag lets you pick up the pressed tortilla easily and then peel the plastic off of it before cooking it.

Putting dry bay leaves in dry good helps keep the weebles out of your dry goods. Just a few in your jars. You can do your research but I've been doing it for years with success. Also put your dry goods in the freezer for a few days to make sure that if any weebles exist, then take out to room temp and refreeze again in case any eggs hatch. These are in all dry products no matter what you do. But this is what I do. Provident prepper is a good informative/research channel on storing bulk foods🙂 Love your channel. Corn Tortillas are easy! Just add boiling water to masa harina and let it soak in then divide it into balls. You can easily roll out the tortillas between two peices of wax paper with a rolling pin- as thin as you like. If my mom can do it with her carpal tunnel anyone can! Then fry in a preheated skillet on both sides of each tortilla about a minute. I just follow the directions on the masa harina package from Bob's Red Mill. So yummy too! I also make my cornbread with masa harina, to use it up quicker, and it's delicious.

Love these pantry stocking videos so much!! I'm totally using your method to stock my pantry from now on. I refill many of the same items while others sit there unused. Such a simple idea to use up all of it before refilling, yet I never thought of that myself. Thank you! Also, quick question about the Redmond salt. I know it is a widely popular and healthy choice but when we tried it a while back we noticed what seemed like a lot of sand in it. Have you noticed that, and if so, do you just tolerate it or only use it in certain things? I have 2 10lb tubs in my cart (using your discount code so thank you again!) but I'm hesitant. Would love to hear your thoughts before I hit 'purchase'. Thanks so much!
@RowesRising
@RowesRising 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching!! Hmmm I’ve never noticed sand in our Redmond’s salt and we have used it for years. It’s definitely not in my 10lb. It does have a few darker red crystals that take a little longer to dissolve. Are you biting sand? Or just seeing it in a salt water solution? There is possibly a bit of clay in it or mineral deposits?
@kimwilliams6674
@kimwilliams6674 2 жыл бұрын
@@RowesRising Yes, we are actually biting into something that feels just like sand, and there is definitely some sort of visible sentiment at the bottom of dissolved salt solution. It’s so strange because I have not heard one person mention it when they are talking about how much they love it. I may contact Redmond and inquire, but I would still really love to purchase a couple of buckets. Anyway, thanks so much for the response! I found you not too long ago and just love following along with you. Just last week I purchased a Nutrimill Harvest and it arrives tomorrow. Coming from a low carb lifestyle it’s strange to dive into the world of wheat berries and breadmaking but I’m so excited to start! Your recent video with your grain mill started me down this rabbit hole and I’ve already learned so much. Now I just need Azure to get all their grains back in stock! lol We purchase everything from them that we can. Anyway, thanks again, friend! ❤️
