Whole Home Renovation | 2 Year Remodel Solo DIY

The last two years I've poured my blood sweat and tears into remodeling this whole home almost entirely myself. This is the first project I've taken on this size and am a self-taught carpenter with only a couple years experience. I learn quickly, am a perfectionist, and loved flexing my creative ideas in this space. I hope you've loved following along! I feel your pain, I bought a 3000 sq ft house on 3/4 acre for $15k, it had holes in the roof, water poured in, the smell and mold! My buddies helped me rebuild it, had to replace all the floors with 3/4 " plywood, I live here now and love it, all paid off!

@@J-W.- Found it on craigslist. It's in a town where the main industry left for Mexico so avg income is low. We got a new mayor who balanced the books for the first time in 30 yrs, brought in natural gas, fixed the water and sewer, got new tractors and trucks. Hispanics have been moving in here in droves and fixing up the properties, it's great!

Hi . @sharonpaul912 , I found it on craigslist, located in an African American community 1 hr south of Chicago. There are many small towns in the USA where the industry that formed them have left, leaving the town impoverished. Land prices have since skyrocketed from when I purchased the place.

So proud of you. I’ve learned so much from you. Your inspiration is immeasurable. “Courage over confidence”, you should copyright protect that motto! Seriously. I can see how courage over confidence can help get a person unstuck. A lack of confidence, (stemming from a lack of knowledge/experience) can be paralyzing. Seizing courage and Doing in spite of apprehension, opens one up to learn, succeed, and gain confidence. Then repeat. Your kids and husband are so blessed to have you. This concept is more than DIY, it’s life skills.

Great vision and tenacity! Loved the recycling of trim and kitchen cabinets!! My favorites are the wood wrap accent in the bedroom, your awesome range hood, quality bathroom renovation, and your stunning office ceiling design and fabrication!!!
