The bathrooms and bedrooms look great, as well as the exterior of the home. My only real disappointments were the fireplace tiles and the out of place refrigerator.
@ninanani91336 жыл бұрын
Same thought! The fireplace tiles didn't match the rest of the living room at all, and the refrigerator seemed as if they had just left it there before installing it to another place.
@outlier22116 жыл бұрын
Agree, move the fridge and change the fireplace tile. Although with all that work they did outside, I feel like they could have pressure washed the concrete pathways and stairs. They look so dingy next to the bright new paint and shutters. Also, some sod in the back would have been good.
@diannerempel82626 жыл бұрын
Those are the exact two things that I didn't like about the renovation. Otherwise it was very well done. I would have kept the fridge in the place it originally was and rather built a pantry on opposite side. For the fireplace, I think a charcoal or black tile would have looked nice.

The Construction Workers did an Amazing Job. The few things I would have done was an open Concept with an Island & placed the Refrigerator closer to the other appliances. In the Laundry Room a place to Fold Laundry with Storage would have made it Amazing. The Tile in front of the Fireplace is a Terrible Color. You should have matched it with the Mantle.
@annw13955 жыл бұрын
Beautiful job! I would recommend medicine cabinets in the bathroom; there is almost no storage in there! Also, could do between-the-studs storage in the bathrooms. Lack of storage space will turn some buyers away. I love the colors, floors, and staging.
@Happybidr6 жыл бұрын
Fireplace tile is wrong choice, wrong type of tile. One large piece of dark granite or marble is correct. Refrigerator should be smaller and face the cabinets. Build it in would help improve it. (Cabinet wall on the side and cabinet overhead.). White flooring, what a nightmare to keep clean! Overall, well done bringing it back to life.
@Lord-Brett-Sinclair6 жыл бұрын
agree on the fireplace tile straight off. Must have used left over tiles.
@spencerwilton58315 жыл бұрын
Happybidr You're wrong actually. Single piece hearths are only suitable for gas fires, if the intention is to have a solid fuel fire - and this looks like a fireplace designed for one- a three piece or tiled hearth is preferable, it can better handle the temperature difference between the hottest and cooler areas and is therefore less likely to suffer heat induced fractures. I don't like his choice of tile, but tiles of some description are a sensible choice.

To everyone, my wife and I renovated our entire single floor 2 bedroom home to the studs (exterior was redone before we bought it). With approximately 800sq/ft to work with we went as open as possible. Raised the ceiling in the master, kitchen w/island, all appliances (w/d stackable), same flooring throughout, huge bath with walk in shower (no tub), all LED lighting except over island. Added a rear door and 2 windows. 100% electrical and plumbing. Expected 50K Cdn. Cost over 60K. YIKES!! Research, research, research! We did about 70% ourselves and still need to finish trim. Shockingly expensive but It is beautiful though. Just saying.

I'd like to know what that wall looks like in the sun room where they filled in the window. I love almost everything they did with this home, except for a few things I would change, if I were the homeowner. I'd add shutters to that tiny window in the front near the door, if you can move the house number. I would add upper cabinets in the laundry room to match the kitchen cabinets and I would either put in similar lower cabinets and countertop with a new sink set into the counter or I would skip the lower cabinets and put in a chest freezer to use as multipurpose folding table. The new fridge should have gone where the old fridge and drier were originally and the pantry should have gone where the fridge is now and it would have given the room a much better flow/look. I would make the fridge look like it belongs where it is now, instead of an after thought, by adding deep cabinets above the fridge that go all the way to the front of the fridge, so it's actually a usable cabinet space. I'd add a pocket wall with a pull out next to the fridge and either have the pull-out have hooks for mops, brooms, and dusters or make it spice rack pull-out. It would have been nice to have the mop and broom pull out in that wall they built next to the stairs and washer and drier, but there might not be enough space there because of the stairway and there has to be space for circulation around the washer and drier.

there should be a triangle of appliances in the kitchen. Pantry would have worked where the fridge is and the fridge could stay where it was. or it would make it more a part of the kitchen to add small cabinets around the fridge so it's not just there as an afterthought
@tracybrown49415 жыл бұрын
The Erica Experience - I thought the same thing. Obviously, the person who put together the kitchen design is not a cook. Also a completely white kitchen is a nightmare to keep clean.
@carolyn60014 жыл бұрын
its a galley kitchen. unless they pull out a wall and enlarge it there is no place to make the triangle. the spot where they placed it wasn't the worst but they should have placed it at an angle on the wall. built in a 45* angle wall and put in a smaller refrigerator.

You went beyond what a lot of flippers would have done. It really is very nice new home now. My disappointment right up front was the front stairs. The concrete is old looking and oddly placed. I also was hoping you were going to replace the odd wood trim at the bottom of windows in the bedrooms.
