Pressure washing that cracked, uneven weeds growing through broken slab driveway wouldn't of helped it. They should have torn it out and replaced it.

Since there is no front door visible or windows in the front of the house, you should have painted the brick a different color of just pressure washed it to clean it up. All white doesn't give any interest for curb appeal. There needs to be more shrubs or plant in the front because there are bare areas! Curb appeal is so important & you could have sealed those cracks in the driveway if you weren't going to put a new one in!

Kitchen cabinets to the ceiling would have made it a more high end look. They did have a sizeable pantry though. Driveway power cleaned or resurfaced, and some cool address numbers would have really made a huge difference with curb appeal.

since the front of the house has no window, the only visual appeal was the brick. painting over the brick made the front of the house look unappealing and boring. otherwise the reno was good. there was a good chance that you would have gotten a return for investing on a window.

Landscaping in general was awful. You have bare patches with dirt and mud coming through and some other areas star is bright green little patches of grass. Some areas nothing but weeds. Then you have the cracked and filthy driveway. I can't believe somebody bought that house at that price with it looking like that on the exterior. I have seen a lot of renos on TVshows and on here that looked a lot better than this house.

In the living room, what would make it really cozy is more wood. To see the actual wood beams on the ceiling and some hanging plants at different levels would be awesome, I agree, the driveway should've been replaced, a little landscaping out front and the walkway to the door would be next level painted that lighter grey. It looks really great though, esp the fire place area.

Check out Pebble Tech for driveways, walkways, or patios. It’s applied over concrete so there’s no need to remove the old concrete. Mom had this on her walkway on one of her properties. Lasts forever. It’s smooth pebbles in an epoxy that’s leveled over the existing slab. Great job guys! Would have put the window though! Lol

What flooring was used in the living room? Although the front doesn't have a window, I don't like bedroom windows on the front of the house. People can see the silhouettes or can tell when you turn the lights on & off. This way, there's more privacy. The driveway needs work and so does the adjacent homes around them.

Actually the sink and a half is nicer than the double. Doubles are known for sloped bottoms, you cannot set a tall glass in them, and if you have a large pan or kettle to clean , it difficult to do, and messy. Right now I have a German made stainless sink that has one large deeper sink and one smaller not as deep, for the garbage disposal. Works well, much better than a double sink. By the way I agree those 7 inch deep dinks are awful and worthless

This maybe for some people, but I would much rather see the work happening, by the people running the channel.. For all we know they could be paying someone to film their house flips, and have zero invested in the house, repairs, or work. Seems so fake to me... Maybe some of the other videos have them doing real work, not just talking....

I bought this because I did not have a clue about the design, materials composition and building of a shed. kzbin.infoUgkxb2mhCug-GkCWrq69Ce2I0nM0D4QpxAquIt is absolutely fascinating, with clear, readable text and helpful illustrations also enough videos. There is a great sense of creativity and enthusiasm underlying the projects which the authors develop, from a bike shed to a glorious eco-shed. I like the way explanations are provided for decisions made from a range of options. I am not really in a position to rate the more technical detail, but think I am prepared to boldly go shed- building, equipped with this manual.

The outside of jouse looks really good but i really liked the yellow kitchen in before pics. Also the fireplace was fine before. The brick you cut out was where people put up a wood holder either round or rectangle...so you dont have to go out in the cold so much. The tile you put up looks like a bathroom floor. People used the middle part to hang large pics. Why does everything older always have to be considered outdated. Sometimes people like older designs. The rest of the house looks good in the after pics.

Possibly unpopular opinion but I think the brick ledge surrounding the fireplace should not have been removed. Possibly made a little smaller, but cutting it down all the way to make it flush to the wall served to highlight how off-centred the fireplace is. It just doesn't look right. Other than that, the house looks great! Especially the kitchen, awesome!

I don't think the flooring being different dyes is a big deal for you guys, since you said you can't tell a difference. But I think it's a SUPER BIG DEAL for the company who sold it to you and let it get to customers that way! They need to get some quality control underway cause that could really be bad for some customers! I'm currently remodeling my home and I have a very open floor plan, so I feel like if the flooring batches came back slightly different you would have a higher chance of noticing the difference...no bueneo!

But if you'd have added a window or a pop of color on some shutters or some of the upper wood in a teal or a blue or some kind of color it would have looked so much better. The outside of the house is really tricky. There needed to be something added for more contrast and visual interest. I'm not sure what though. It's not their fault, it's just the way the house was built. Maybe a wood siding feature or a window? Idk

I watched it again and with no window on the front, it was ok with the natural brick and darker siding, but being now very light and all painted, it could use a window on the side with the wood siding. By the way, I have my bed under the window

LaTonya Heaggans I think what she was saying was that she just rinses and puts them directly into the dishwasher instead of rinsing, putting them in a separate sink just to sit, then putting it in the dishwasher after. It’s an extra step beyond rinsing. Hope that made sense!

I would have put the window in. Then landscaped the front super low maintenance along with cleaning the drive-up or repairing the big cracks. I LIKED THE REGULAR BRICK THAT WAS THERE BEFORE AND WOULD HAVE POPPED BETTER WITH THE WHITE. Otherwise nice Home :) (sorry about the caps) I think with a new driveway and great landscaping, you would have made more of a profit. :)

That brick side piece on the fireplace was where you stacked wood. BTW,painting bricks outside will trap moisture and damage them - they will turn soft and crumble eventually.

Turned a nice mid century modern style into a basic flip...why I dont like flipped homes
@califdad4
@califdad4 5 жыл бұрын
its not a mid century modern, its a combo of several styles , kind of a country spanish if there is such a thing, , I watched houses like this get built in the late 60's and 70's the no windows is for privacy and a take off from Mid Century Modern I have several from the 50's in my neighborhood and the one that had few showing windows was designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, but that does not make it Modern style home

The house had started with a warm feeling, almost arts and crafts. You could have worked off of that with some pretty wood work, and with that you wouldn't need to repaint the brick (although a red stain would really help it) love the kitchen, but maybe more wood stain. The floor was really nice, though. White wash, though, makes the house feel so cold and uncomfortable, while warm colors create a welcoming feeling, along with proper wood work.

Daisy true but also pay increase isnt linear to prices. when house go up 5-6k in value in 1 year, paychcek didnt increase that much if any. so that create huge problem. i mean now adays its normal to see people working 60-80 hrs a week which also leads to bad family life, divorce, health issues. the whole country is going downhill....

House renovation and flipping is easy when you've got a dedicated, trustworthy and hardworking team of skilled tradesmen. Great transformation on this house as always, would like to have seen the fencing in the back garden renewed and a window put in at the front but I get you need to weigh up the renovation costs vs the ceiling price of the property.

fireplace came out good, the old one is a 70's kind of spanish effect. Only thing I would have done is make the shelf topper the same size across as the fireplace , its smaller . Kitchen looks great, like the big sink, you can actually get griddles and large pans in the sink to wash. Once I moved temporary to a Townhouse, waiting for someone to get out of my house, I was going to move into( nightmare) and had a double sink, awful hated it. Plus its a great place to wash my Dachshund LOL one of your best houses,
