Good for you! I go to my 90-year-old mother's house and shutter. She tries, and I help as much as she'll let me, but I think it's overwhelming for her. Your children will appreciate it so much. 👍😊👍

I am 59 and I think the same way. After clearing out when my parents died I decided I would not leave my son in the same position. I read a book about Swedish Death Cleaning and it makes so much sense.

Your children will love you for doing this now! When my mother passed at 83 (dad had passed 2 years earlier at 83), we went through our childhood home, mom was good at hiding her stuff because if you walked into her home it was immaculate and always had a combination clean and baking fragrance, but open up any cabinets, closets, drawers or go into the basement and her secret was discovered. Mom love shopping, 4 huge bedroom closets were jammed packed with clothes with tags still on them, 4 dressers and 2 chest of drawers also had clothes she bought but never wore, then there was the towels and bed linens, let’s move onto the dis set and cookware and bakingware hoard. The basement had more kitchen and bath items but the biggest hoard was her Christmas and Easter decorations, 7 artificial trees in varying colors along with ornaments in varying colors, mom loved themed colors each year, life size Santa’s reindeer, bunnies, Easter baskets, I mean life size, boxes of lights not the boxes the lights came in but moving box size, wreaths and garlands for each of her favorite holidays, cornucopia’s in varying materials, 5 sets of patio furniture, 2 complete bedroom sets, multiple lamps and end tables, a cook wood stove. My parents lived on 1pm acres, the frontage of the house was a half acre of grass, not only did we fill that front yard with all the household items but we also filled each Sid of the house that had about 1,000 feet from house to woods on each side, the estate sale took 2 days because the second day was the 900 sqft oversized 2 car garage and dad’s 20x20 workshop, we cleared a 3,000 sqft house and a 1500 sqft basement. It was brutal for us 4 kids, our spouses and about 4 grandchildren (my parents was blessed with 12 grandchildren who are sca there’d across the state and country). No will, except the house was deeded to all 4 of us, no letter to say who got what, but we never fought over anything we children wanted or what our children wanted before the estate sale. All the photos, family documents and cookbooks, many handwritten by mom, went to my 2 sisters-in-law because they were the family historians and about 2 years after mom’s passing, my brother (3 brothers) and I received beautiful phot albums, individual cloud accounts with all the photos and descriptions, professionally bound cookbooks of mom’s personal recipes along with all those recipes also on the cloud; did I say my 2 sisters-in-law rock?

@jkp62 Wow! I'm so glad you get along with your siblings and their spouses. We're beneficiaries of my sister-in-law's "estate." She laughs and says we're going to have a mess to go through, and she's right. Unfortunately, there's nothing to keep or sell. It's all junk. Your sisters-in-law were wonderful putting all that together. I hope to do that for my daughters-in-law and my grands.

My hubby works for a gas station for 20 years. When he started his uniform was a white and light blue striped shirt. (totally crazy) Plus he pumped diesel. Which smells like skunk. (no lie) On top of all the stains, I used shout and the purple bottle of Fab. (now their gone) Then had to go to All, the purple or blue bottle. I would spray the clothing before switching the others clothing, to the dryer. Which gave it time. Then put it in the washer. But cold water for washing. WOW Smells great and no stains. Then I did it to my towels and cleaning towels. WOW So many less stains. Its at Walmart 10.99 for 40 loads. Hope this helps. Love ya!

Have you considered an air purifier in your room? It may help with some of the excess dust and dog dander. If dust is accumulating that quickly on your fan just imagine what you’re breathing in while you sleep! It could be helpful to have an air purifier and they make really quiet ones now. Also hydrogen peroxide works wonders for white linens! Just add it to your wash cycle. It’s also great for deodorizing stinky clothes.

Thanks for your tips. Yes we had a great thanksgiving . All the young ones who bring all the joy and laughter to us older folks. Every one made their special dish or dessert. One of the grandkids read his thanksgiving paper with illustrations! I helped him with it ! But it was his own ideas and pictures. He was so proud to read it and everyone clapped. You should have seen the smile on his face😊. Grandma here was so proud of him. I would say thanksgiving is my all time favorite holiday!

It's fun to host but it's also nice to just bring left overs home without the clean up. But of course helping the host with the clean up is the right thing to do too. That was a genius idea of Bobby's to hang Freyas mirror where it is. I never would've thought of that!❤😊

Your right when you said “don’t let it get too bad where it can be overwhelming “ I need to repaint my baseboards in my bathroom too. Great idea on the drill scrubber. I’ll try that. Maybe hang the mat on a hanger with clips to dry inside the shower or somewhere outside where there’s sun.

Hey Cambriea, I'm a new subscriber to your channel. I can't wait to watch more videos every week! I love seeing the before & after shots all the time! My favorite thing about your videos is seeing your dogs and family, because I know Bobby and the kids will help you unless you don't need it. My Thanksgiving was good. Greased Lightning is an awesome cleaner for almost everything. Spray as a pre-treater, then wash as usual. I have used on sneakers and it gets the white back again without bleaching the colors. I would suggest using gloves if scrubbing by hand, its strong, but doesn't smell that bad. Dollar General has it here in NC.

I put my small rugs in my washer on the gentle setting. And I use the OxI Clean Odor Blasters on all of my laundry.have you tired to do the laundry striping on the wash cloth.

Hi Cambriea, you always give me so much motivation, and I love it. I'm a little sad cuz the boys go back to school on Monday from their fall break, but then on the 21st of Dec, they will be out for Xmas break until the new year. I like your ideas about doing the little things and not feeling so overwhelmed with it all at once. I've been trying so hard to get more and more clutter out of my house to make life easier, especially with my back disability and being a widow. Yes, the boys help, but not quite like when my husband was here. Anyway, thanks for the video, and now I guess I will get busy. I will see you in the next one. Oh, and Bobby did an amazing job outside with the decorations!

Great video like always. I think Freya is seeking your attention or your hubby’s. I’m sure you give her attention, but she sees that in that moment is taking your attention. You are right decorating your bedroom helps to put someone in the mood. Maybe next year I’ll buy decorations for my bedroom. For a fan, try mixing equal parts of laundry softener with vinegar and water, but don’t add oils because that attracts more dust from outside in from your open window. this may be a little late but for white wash cloths for me i use two things and they are almost always pure white like new use the Era brand laundry soap for the was and a light sprits of Shout stain remover before the wash

I don't know how good it is for the washer, but my husband has white Hey Dude's shoes that get ick. I used tide, a splash of bleach, a sprinkle of powder Ariel detergent and a second rinse. They came out sparkling white!

I use chocolate or navy towels for make-up removal after 2 good cleanses. Suggestion before cleaning ceiling fan. Use a flat sheet over your bed to protect it from the dust & cleaning spray, then you don’t have to be as careful

I take a 5 gallon bucket and fill it with hot water and a half cup hydrogen peroxide. Then I wash them on warm cycle with a half cup super washing soda. It works wonders. There is also a product called white out. It's a powder you add to your wash cycle it kinda stinks but works fabulously.

I don't know if you tried. For the white towels, when they are just out of the washer, submerge them in a bowl or sink full of water and a few splashes of bleach, let them soak for a few hours or until the next day and then wash again. It's not miraculous but ends whiter.

The fan in your room gets the dustiest because it has the most fabric in it, its where you fold your clothes. take them off. You have the bed covers, pillows etc. My room and my sons room is the same!

Milton baby sterilizing tablets work wonders just soak the towels overnight then wash on a hot wash with normal detergent

The ads in the videos are placed by KZbin not the KZbinrs and I try not to do a crazy amount of sponsored content but when I do it’s with things I like. But the way we are able to make free content and not put it behind a membership is with ads and sponsors. I hope that makes sense

Your ceiling fan is extra dirty from the dogs and 2 adults. Dust us mostly dead skin cells (yuck) and there are two of you along with the dogs. My bedroom fan is also the worst one
