and this is why I love my BZ-10. It is very easy to keep her spotlessly clean and enjoy good coffee even after you have brewed 5000 coffees in 2 years. I also use Caffiza for cleaning the circuit. Great and reliable machines..... the fact they are also works of art in your kitchen comes free of charge. An artisan yet manufactured with industrial precision machine by a family owned business in Milan Italy. I am emotionally invested to her! Greetings from Athens Greece. Thank God you exist and you show us the European made machines and how to properly maintain them!

Hi DA, Thanks for the kind comment and sharing a whole latte Bezzera love! I was fortunate to visit Bezzera's production facility in Milan a few years ago and meet the family! Bezzera has been making machines as long as anyone and makes more of their own parts. While in Milan I visited the castle and came across the inspiration for the Bezzera logo. Here's some video from my visit including a conversation with Luka Bezzera and an inside look at their prodcution facility: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYqUZYF6bMR4rtU Marc

I’ve enjoyed watching your great videos over the years. I’ve owned three different Bezzera machines starting with a Livia 90 then a BZ-13 and now a DUO DE. All have been excellent and your hands on approach to learning is always reassuring. I hope that in the future, you will also include Torque Specifications for the fasteners on major components? And if not, at least where we can find these. Like on all mechanical devices, I try to adjust Torque Specifications whenever possible. Keeps things running smoothly and gives us a little bit more reassurance when putting them back together. Many thanks!

Hey e, Thanks for the comment and request! I asked Brian from the video about torque specs. He's been working on machines for many years and has yet to see any torque specs in a manufacturer's service manual. In general he recommends hand tightening fittings when possible and then firm and secure with tools but don't over crank. Or as he sometimes says in videos you don't need to go "HAM" (I'll let you look up the slang meaning of that if you don't already know) on fittings. For fittings/connections carrying water and/or pressure monitor for leaks after reassembly through heating cycle etc and tighten a bit more if needed. Marc

@@Wholelattelovepage Thanks very much for your reply Marc. Always look forward to your videos. I'm pretty sure lots of manufacturers have Torque Specs. Some are just more technical than others. Not having the specs doesn't prevent me from working on my machines. I'm always trying to learn more about them. Have a good day! 👍🏼

Repeat comment incase you didn’t see the original. Hi mark I would like to report that my stem gauge on my Syncronica was not set to 0 at idle (0.26 Bar) I called your parts department only to be lectured on why I don’t need to replace it. I requested to purchase a new one and the individual reluctantly invoiced me. I placed the order, installed the new gauge (second time I took the faulty one out) only to realize after installing that it was the wrong gauge! I then called back and waited 1.5 hours on hold. Spoke to another parts department member that seemed like the same guy who messed up the invoice initially. He agreed to send me a replacement part free that same day. I didn’t get an invoice or tracking. I called back today only to find out it is on back order until April 14 and will ship out via snail mail sure post. I purchased this machine second hand from a gentleman who got it from WLL. He said he had the steam set to max. My hunch is that he had it set to the not ideal 2.26 bar and it is causing harm to my machine by the day. I need this gauge ASAP. I refrained from using names and I generally really like WLL but this was an awful experience.
@Wholelattelovepage

Hi K, Sorry you are having troubles with the gauge. Thanks for your patience. Like others, our industry has been challenged by supply chain delays and staffing shortages. I know how you feel. I recently spent 5+ hours on hold over a bunch of calls with a cell provider trying to activate a phone for my wife. Rest assured you are doing no damage to the machine. Perfectly okay to run at maximum steam (service boiler) temperature which will get you to ~ 2 bar of pressure in the boiler - 2.26 if the gauge is off by +0.26. If desired you can lower the pressure by lowering the temperature in the boiler. If not familiar with how to do that here's a video which takes you through PID programming on the Synchronika: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJWwaJeNf9-JqNk Marc

Question: Does anyone makes head screen screw as a flat one vs the OEM one that came with Bezzera Matrix? Why I ask, well it is impossible to use the puck screen which in my case I'd like to use.

Thanks for the video, how frequently would you recommend 1. back flushing with cleaner 2. Taking theBZ group apart and cleaning the shower screen
@Wholelattelovepage
@Wholelattelovepage 2 жыл бұрын
Hey C, Thanks for the question. We recommend back flushing with a cleaner about every 100 brew cycles. Back flush without cleaner at least every few days. Clean the shower screen using a group at least weekly depending on use level. Take it apart for cleaning every 3 months. Inspect then and adjust schedule as needed.

Great Video! I couldn’t help noticing that the upper part of the drip tray of the Bezzera Matrix is the same as the other machine shown in the video. Is this available as a spare part? I own a Bezzera Duo DE and never liked the design of the drip tray, the new one looks way better!

Hi guys. I’ve been running our BZ13 for close to two years now. I’m noticing for the first time that we are slowly losing brew pressure during a shot. I’m assuming this means it’s time to replace the group head gasket. Would you agree? Thanks
@Wholelattelovepage
@Wholelattelovepage 11 ай бұрын
Hi t, it's possible especially if you are seeing leaking around the group head. But I think it's more likely your pressure dropping slightly during the shot is normal. As a shot progresses, the puck erodes and presents less resistance to water resulting in pressure drop.
@thielees
@thielees 11 ай бұрын
@@Wholelattelovepage I think you’re right, because I notice that we have zero pressure drop at all with the blank filter in place.

Thank you so much for the educational video. I had the BZ13 for 5 years and never took apart the group head, so will do now! A general maintenance question on BZ13: the silicon hoses inside the machine are twisting sometimes and so block the flow (e.g. the one from OPV back to tank and the bigger one from pump to group head). This is causing a lot of trouble for me where they snap out of place and water starts leaking onto the electronics or restricts flow. My Question is: do these hoses need replacement every so many years because they lose elasticity or is it because they moved and are not positioned optimally increasing the chances for being twisted? I added cable ties so that they don’t snap out of place and spill water on the electronics, burning them! Thanks!

Hi KZ, Thanks for the question. With age silicone hoses may need replacement. Good idea to tie them down if needed. Not sure which hose you are talking about to the group head. All plumbing from valve tree to boiler to group is metal. No silicone tubes going to th group.

Somewhat unrelated, does that pipe in the drip tray come out? I can imagine if that's where the 3 way valve exhausts it'll get gross fast.

Hi there. Yes, the little pipe in the drip tray does in fact come out. It is only held in there by the tension of the wire drip tray grid.

Michael, you’ll want a food safe water resistant lubricant. My preference is Molykote 111 but Petrol-Gel is also really good and less expensive.

Hello Mark! Would you kindly answer on this question. Today i decided fist time clean group head on my gaggia classic. Like new one gaggia classic. Bought it around couple month back. So i screw down shower screen. Take it to the sink. And discovered there was two shower screens stuck together on one screw. Maybe someone on the factory grabbed them together? Is there supposed to be two shower screen on one screw? Anyway, i bolted back only one screen after cleaning. Keep second as a spare part. Water flow became much more even, as two screen blocked each others holes.

What is the heat transfer compound and where to buy it from , please ?
@Wholelattelovepage
@Wholelattelovepage 2 жыл бұрын
Hi KZ, Thanks for the question. Most any heat transfer compound/paste will work. Typically available through electronics parts suppliers - also Amazon has a ton.
@AlexanderNecheff
@AlexanderNecheff 2 жыл бұрын
@@Wholelattelovepage So that is what I can use left over thermal paste from my computer build for. I'd also mention to watch out for and avoid "thermal adhesives" which are essentially glue with some thermal transfer capabilities; you don't want to end up gluing that heater into the bore. And double check the metal compatibility on the compound's documentation. Brass is usually pretty good at resisting galvanic corrosion but that heater looks like it might be at least plated in a different metal. Although your average tube of compound likely has a wide applicability, you usually only run into trouble with exotic/enthusiast stuff.
