I used to do Stampin’ Up and if you get a roller, and roll your ink onto the stamp, it should give you better stamped image. Because your surface area is so big, you need to get the ink evenly distributed on the stamp. Also if you don’t layer your boxes, only do one at a time on a hard surface, it will help make your image cleaner. I think single sided is good! It looks amazing! Don’t worry about the steam! It could just be the tote material. The tiny duckies make me think of your oil painting. Hope you have an awesome weekend!
@MythkasMonsters11 ай бұрын
Single sided on the tote ♥ Additionally the smoking you saw was more than likely steam. There is probably a tiny bit of moisture in the bag. I get that all the time when pressing shirts, unless it smells like burnt plastic or smoke, it shouldn't be anything to worry about.
@memoatelier10 ай бұрын
I was going to say the same thing, it's steam from the moisture in the fabric.

I think single sided for the tote bags. I LOVE the bunny on the inside pocket! It’s so cute!
@stephaniefennell783711 ай бұрын
Something that may help with the stamping is to stamp them one at a time without a stack. That way there isn't give from the boxes under the one you're doing. I find anything being stamped directly on the table works way better. I also think single sided totes are best. I don't think I would ever care about it having a second side. Also, got my order in Tuesday and my friend loved her stuff as well!
@CelilasArt10 ай бұрын
just came to the comments to say this about the stamping 💕the lower the stack, the better the results were because she didn't have to fight against all the give of the stacked boxes.

For the stamp, I would definitely try to lay the individual box on the table rather than stamp while stacked. May still not be perfect but it's what I find works better! The steam on the tote bags could be moisture in the fabric since it was just in the closet under the stairs. Single sided design and inner pocket design is perfectly fine! I've been selling sublimation totes for years (now dabbling in dtf) and it's never been a problem for me or my customers
@mariaescobar135911 ай бұрын
I stamp my boxes with that same kind of stamp! And I’ve noticed that the best way to do it is to ink the stamp pretty well and then stamp super fast. Rather than doing it slow and apply pressure, you do it fast and strong. The downside is that you don’t always stamp it in the middle…

You might want to stamp the box right on the hard table top, instead of on a pile of boxes, to get a better stamp. Also picking up the ink pad and tapping it on the stamp instead of putting the stamp onto the pad, you will get better coverage on the stamp.

Something that may help. .. so I stamp all of the boxes I use for orders and a rubber hammer is great for getting even pressure. Made the handle a bit wider on the stamp itself so you can hammer the stamp both in the ink pad and then on the box. Also use isopropyl alcohol to keep the ink pad moist and juicy! lol

Baylee there’s another artist on KZbin. Her name is Amy from Winterwoods studio. She just had a serious issue with kopek sketch markers with the lids, not closing properly on one of the ends. She bought a whole heap and they were about a year old and they had been put away in a Ziploc bag in it temperature controlled room, and some of them had either completely dried out or one and had dried out, I think you should definitely check that this hasn’t been an issue for you to because she has well over 150+ dollars in unusable markers.

@alisonhutson739811 ай бұрын
Hello, just came back to add a thought to my previous comment, but it looks like the comment disappeared. Just a few thoughts from a crafter with way too many craft supplies and ink pads. You may want to try the Archival Jumbo Ink pad in Vermilion by Ranger Ink. That may appear on the dark pink spectrum when stamped on a Kraft colored box. Also you may want to look at the Tim Holtz Oxide Ink pad Re-inkers (also made by Ranger) to ink a custom made Iarge ink pad. His Oxide Ink pads are an opaque ink that would work on your boxes. There are a range of pink shades that may work for what you want or you could mix re-inkers to create a custom color. You can also order direct from Ranger if they will ship to Canada. Also if you want a softer ink pad, look for one that is a felt ink pad versus a foam pad.
@alisonhutson739811 ай бұрын
I forgot to add that the only downside I can think of to the Oxide ink is that it is not a waterproof ink whereas the archival ink is. But that should be a minor concern since its not very lilkely that the inside of the boxes would get wet.

Making heat transfer things makes me nervous because I'm always worried they're not gonna last. I ordered a shirt about 5 or so years ago and the picture peeled completely off. I've only made heat transfer vinyl cut on my Cricut but I worry everytime if they're gonna last past washing.
@BayleeJae11 ай бұрын
There are several types of transfers. Vinyl is not very durable. DTF is very durable.
@karyfrancisco138311 ай бұрын
You have to know what you're working with and care for the item accordingly. All screen prints - which is essentially what dtf transfers are, inks on transfer sheets - and vinyl have the ability to wear over time. Vinyl and generic/standard transfers do better on cotton and thicker, spongier material - there's more for the graphic to 'grab'. You need different vinyl and ink transfers for polyester blends. DTF and screen transfers do well on a broader range of material because the graphic is still porous in a way because of the inks, so there's more flexibility than a solid piece of vinyl. And above all, shirts with graphics that are adhered to the surface of the fabric need proper care. Harsher and hotter wash cycles can degrade any material, heated dry can degrade the material. Any corner is an opportunity for peeling. My care instructions for my shirts always include 'wash inside out in cold water, hang dry only'. I've had vinyl last years - my oldest test shirt is 5 years old. I've also purchased screen printed shirts (think band tees at shows etc) that have flaked away after one year.
