POLL: Should I DELETE this video? Yes ✅ or no ⛔ I missed something in Amazon's policies: they have added an exception and will print low content books without an ISBN (but won't do expanded distribution printing for them). To clarify, I would personally still avoid spending time creating books to publish without an ISBN, because Amazon also only lets you use the preview feature & look-inside feature for books with an ISBN. This has been shown to have a big impact on conversions, and conversions are a big factor in ranking & getting sales, putting you at a disadvantage against the other low content books that do have these features/do have an ISBN. I'd much rather focus on medium content books as I said, which come with the ISBN. That way I am not at a disadvantage. However, I DID make a mistake and so I am genuinely wondering: should I delete the video? Yes ✅ or no ⛔

There is a solution even better, create a brand or at least, show Amazon that you made the enquiry, this brand need to have a logo and a name and use it on your front or back cover and you will have the right to use Content plus for your low content book without ISBN and content plus have more impact than preview. 😎

@@christophecoat1914 Haha are you suggesting joining the Amazon Brand Registry? If so that is a very creative idea, I didn't know that registering your brand unlocks those features, but I think to join it, you do need a pending trademark (or a fully filed trademark)

If a side hustle is super easy to get into, and requires little in the way of creative input, money, or physical effort, it will very soon become oversaturated. If you have money, or creativity, or are simply willing to work hard, you should be able to find a side hustle that works for you.

@@WholesaleTed exactly my point. it takes about 2k minimum to launch 1 product. ( I SPENT 5k back in 2018 and my first launch failed ) it’ll take 3 to 5 try’s to have a successful product. Which means risking $10k+ and that process takes about 2+ years so…..
@WholesaleTed
@WholesaleTed 3 ай бұрын
Can you please more what you mean when you say it takes $2,000 to launch one product - what sort of product? An ebook? A FBA product? A dropshipped product? A POD product? If you mean POD, I honestly sincerely disagree. I have a video showcasing a case study where I started a POD store for free, and grew it from $0 to $4k+/week in less than 6 months. And again, it was free, and took less than 6 months: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2q9gJynrdqAqck What enabled me to have fast, free success was my products filled a gap in the market. A lot of people try to brute-force their way to success/sales but in my experience, creating products customers want/need is the key to fast, easy success.

I've learned over the years that you *must* add value to make money. If it's something that anyone can do easily, then everyone will do it and it won't be profitable. At best, it's going to be a lottery, with a handful of people doing well while thousands waste their time. You must add value, do something that not anyone can do, some special skill or knowledge that you have, or something.

Great video sharing side hustles you should stay away from. I've tried etsy and t-shirt designs. At the end of the day investing in the stock market has been the best for me. You're not going to get super wealthy overnight. But over time it adds up and well within a few years you can easily be making a few thousand or more depending on how much money you continue to invest. I went from $0 per month in dividends to almost $100 a month in 15 months time, plus I still have all the money I invested. If I need it for an emergency I can liquidate it and withdraw pretty quickly.

Great info here. What separates the innovators from the 'copycats' is the time and effort put into the content they release. Times are changing, and people need to learn to think outside the box and adapt to the new changes. In reality, people need to stop copying or 'ripping off' stock videos for monetization and create their own or use AI. A lot of hate towards AI, but no one truly knows how much work it takes to create high-quality content involving AI (I'm not talking about the lazy people who use AI, don't review it, and just post as is.. which is NOT the way to go). I'm getting more into AI filmmaking, which does take me hours to write out a script, think of ideas on what scenes I want, AND THEN it takes more time to generate the content I need, AND THEN a bunch of other work involved like upscaling, video editing, and revision. Thank you, Sarah. I always learn a thing or two by watching your videos and expanding on the ideas you touch on.

Spot on about the AI aspect. Funny enough we used it at my job to make some designs for custom socks with the idea of putting those out and seeing what people like the best. If people are buying say more designs with the landscape pixel art then we know now to find an artist who can collaborate with us. I do think early on as in right now we might get a ton of lazy AI work until we all realize how difficult it will actually be to create something with it. It does some work well now without effort like Photoshop's generative AI tool when you want to say extend a picture since you increased the aspect ratio or just want to remove something from the image. It's more a time saver.

If you don't have much time, then pick one and stick with it, is my best advice! It takes time to succeed. If you want to give it another shot with POD, the key is finding gaps in the market. I have a video about that here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2q9gJynrdqAqck As I share in that video, it took months for the store to gain momentum. Great question! I guess my question to you is, what is your definition of autopilot? Are you OK with doing customer service, or do you want that taken care of for you? You give up a lot of profits & control if you aren't willing to do any customer service, but in-exchange money you make is absolutely on autopilot. But if you're willing to do some customer service, it can be done very quickly. I find a $2k/week store takes around 0-30 minutes per day to manage (more like 0-15 minutes per day, but during holidays you get more emails).

For Amazon ISBN for low content books I'm not sure it's from their own will but more an homogenization of an international rule. See I'm French and when I've learned if you use the free ISBN from Amazon you cannot sell elsewhere but some government give it for free, I had a look in France and they stated that ISBN is only for real book like novels, technical books, learning books but low content such as sudoku, planners, notebooks, color books… cannot, which make sense, why a library would like to orders a low content book for their readers?!!!
@WholesaleTed
@WholesaleTed 3 ай бұрын
Yes! Sorry, I made a clarification in the comments. Low Content books have a clause on Amazon that do allow them to be individually printed, but not widely printed. However, it's still IMHO an outdated side hustle because without an ISBN, you are not eligible for two important features: >>> You can't do a preview and a look-inside of your book. These are features Amazon only offers to books with an ISBN. They have been shown to greatly improve conversions, which is an important ranking factor in ranking highly for keywords. I would still therefore never personally choose to publish low content books, because you'd be at a disadvantage compared to other low content books that got to have an ISBN, unless you're willing to pay for it individually yourself 🙏

I disagree tbh, I think both of these remain excellent fulfillment strategies that with the right planning can be great choices for launching & selling a product. But the goldrush of being able to sell basically anything (particularly with FBA) is over. It used to be that simple products had an under supply on Amazon relative to demand, so there was a big goldrush 5-10 years to fill that gap - and now it has been filled.

I didn't pay for my ISBN from KDP. Did I miss something with regard to blank books?
@WholesaleTed
@WholesaleTed 3 ай бұрын
If you don't have an ISBN then it can't be sold as a print book - but it can be sold as a digital book. ISBNs used to be included, but no longer aren't. Your book may not have an ISBN, or it may have been released when ISBNs were still given out, and have one included.

@@WholesaleTed Wow I didn't know they were no included for free.. I published a paperback and hardback in February and they will still free then. $S125 is a lot for an ISBN.

As I said, anything that isn't aimed at kids has a much higher RPM if that is your goal. You have millions of interests/cultures/hobbies/passions that adults are interested in. Excluding kids content from your niche list doesn't really exclude many niches at all!

Hey Money Goddess, the reason so many businesses fail is: lack of planning, wishful thinking, and/or lack of discipline. You want to study your market carefully, figure out how long till break even, what your start up costs are. I mean, I only make a small amount on my book business but i don't spend anything on it because the reason so many businesses fail is: lack of planning, wishful thinking, and/or lack of discipline. You want to study your market carefully, figure out how long till break even, what your start up costs are. I mean, I only make a small amount on my book business but i don't spend anything on it because rinse wash repeat. Once you start making money you can think about ads and hiring but don't hire anyone till you're actually making money.

I agree that lack of planning (and lack of discipline!) are huge. Something I generally hammer on about is filling a gap in the market. That is how I have business success but so many people try to skip that part & just push out products/content/services that are ill planned and fill no gap - then comment that "it didn't work for me" haha 🙏 content/services/products don't magically sell themselves - you still have to give people a reason to want to watch/buy and that is where the planning in finding gaps to fill is very important imho 🙏🙏🙏

@@WholesaleTed No one plans to fail but many fail to plan; indeed, figure out what people will pay for and give them that. You have the greatest accent I could listen to you all day. I have no idea if book narration is a gig you would want, and amazon now has AI voices but IF you wished to narrate stories or use your voice as a training model for AI, you could market it as "Sarah Sales, New Zealand". I do languages and wish i were esl so i would have a good excuse to listen to your voice. Ahem, back to business!

I've seen no updates from TikTok on their monetization policies that have demonetized quiz videos and see quiz Tiktok accounts thriving. People make a lot of unsubstantiated claims around monetization on YT/TikTok all the time unfortunately. Misinformation is rampant

I'm glad the AI kids videos money-making strategy is dying. I know there are a lot of real people writing safe stories, but I'm always wary of animated videos and kids videos because of the creepy grooming audio that's out there. On a separate note, I sure hope the majority of people making videos for children are actually considering how their stories affect kids and don't just take for granted whatever the AI generates. Kids learn values from stories and they shape who they become as adults. All that said, this video was super helpful or me! It's great to know about side hustles that are becoming less profitable and won't be worth my time!
