My grandpa started writing family books of our ancestry, his childhood, how he and my grandma met, all the places they traveled together before she passed away - I’m so thankful he did this because I can keep these books for myself and to read to my future kids so they know their great-grandparents and where they come from. It’s so important ♥️ such a heartfelt video!

I think it's really lovely that you asked your grandparents those questions. I always wanted to ask my grandma these things but we don't have that type of relationship. I always wanted to write it down to be remembered forever. But then again our bloodline dies with me so it's not like my kids would be able to read those texts in the future.

Jenn! this video brought me joy and some tears. watching your family celebrate your haraboji brought back memories of my halmoni and haraboji (dad's side). This was probably one of my most favorite vlogs from you. It's so heart warming to see how you've grown, and watch you interact with your family. I've been watching your channel since the "clothesencounters" days with Sarah. At the time I was a freshmen/sophomore in high school. I'm expecting a baby girl this summer and have been talking to my husband about going to Japan at the end of the year to visit my extended family. Both my grandma and my great grandma (104 years old this year) are still alive and doing well, so hoping to capture a five-generation photo. YES! Definitely ask your grandparents any questions you have and consider writing down their answers or recording it for yourself and your family. I lost both sets of my grandparents when I was young and I really wish I had recordings of their voices or videos of them because its gotten harder to remember how they sounded as I've gotten older.
