I really enjoyed the short video. My attention span is about as long as my patience.. 😅 after about 5 mins into your regular videos everything starts to sound like robot talk and I have no idea what’s going on. Super smart. This video was dummy proof. 😂 thank you. 🙏

My Beta FPV 75x does also have yaw washout. I think it was getting better after switching rotation direction of the motors. So from props out to props in.
@uavtech3 жыл бұрын
Agreed. That should help a little. Missed mentioning that. Damn.

My micro is a Clydesdale. 100g AUW, with over a quarter of that being the 2S battery. I went from mounting the pack longitudinally under the bird to a transverse belly mount and it made a massive improvement to its handling. It now has a much faster pitch response, and the roll is smoother. I also find yaw to be a tad better, which may have to do with a change in the moment of inertia from the 90 degree rotation of the battery's mass. Now I'm in the middle of another tune to take advantage of this new configuration. I've been picking at this platform for years, and almost every week I find something new to try with it, tuning-wise and build-wise. Most experiments made no difference, a few were 'nuh-uh', and the rest made my factory-built potato into a tidy little flyer. It's not a tuning spiral - it's a tuning helix. It gets _deep,_ man. . .

One stupid question from my side: what exactly is yaw-washout?
@uavtech3 жыл бұрын
where the quad kind of spins on the yaw axis in hard moves. Washes out -- like a car would wash out in a turn.
@billmcdonald43352 жыл бұрын
@@uavtech When racing a car, 'wash out' can be a good thing. It's called 'drifting' and sometimes a four-wheel drift is the fastest way through a corner [think Jimmy or Jackie in those '60s F1 death traps]. Until I tuned most of my washout out, I used to try to use it when flying. Experienced Idiot Tip: tune it out. What's good for cars sux for micros.

I have a uz65 Did you find in acro that pulling out of hard moves such as powerloops or hard yaw turns with throttle caused the quad to dip angrily on one side depending on the turns since then i have flashed bluejay and betaflight 4.4.2 with uav preset its allmost fixxed the problems but they still happen during realy hard acro eny help be gratefully appreciated i have tryed what you talk about in this video but makes it worse it flys its best on just your preset is there enything else i can try to stop this from happening 🤙🏻

i would like to know how to tune out camera jello on whoop i have cinebee 75hd turtle v2 i bielieve it sucks more than any other v2 i have had looks like im flying in a heat wave so i dont fly it at all only happens outside
@uavtech3 жыл бұрын
Make sure camera is tight and try different props. That is where I would start.
@oliverwright62633 жыл бұрын
I find this is the case flying any whoop outside with even the slightest breeze. No wind = flies near perfect, any wind = shakes like crazy. Must be the ducts?
@uavtech3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, use higher gains as shown. If still shakes, is just the flight dynamics you have to deal with, or you can try different props.
@lievenvv3 жыл бұрын
You can slide the 3D printed camera mount up or down on the posts, so the camera presses against the frame - locking it in place. It's the mount that wobbles.

Omg my 95x v3 does this. Been meaning to try 4.3 on it.. It's newer fc so might be more tested and working. My old whoop didn't work on 4.3

thanks for this. Are there other yah issues that act like yaw washout but are actually caused by something else? If i max yaw p and i (4.2.9) i still get bad washout on front flips and quick rolls. Sometimes down to the left other times back to right. I think it is something else but i’m not sure...
@uavtech3 жыл бұрын
PIDs can only do so much. So if an ESC, big lack of authority, or some kind of micro desync it may not over come it. Set Dshot idle high and see if you still have the issue.

Try switching to props out too!

What is the ratio behind not using Dterm on yaw at all? (I run emuflight and always use 3-5 yawD)
@uavtech3 жыл бұрын
Yaw is not a thrust vector and hence is slow to react. D is not needed as even with high P as shown, it will not overshoot. D adds a lot of noise. So if you don't need it to dampen P, then don't add it. A yaw D of 3 or 5 is not doing anything anyways (so low and yaw is so slow). It is also so low that is not adding that much noise. It is kind of like the Kalman thing. It is not doing much of anything either way. Mostly just a distraction.

Small 1s whoops rarely develop oscillations or hot motors on high PIDs - but in my experience, if you go really nuts you _will_ lose thrust! (and perhaps flight time too) Edit: but yeah, I do run pretty darn high pids compared to my more powerful quads :)
@prottentogo7 ай бұрын
I noticed the thrust thing as well. How much is too much for a 75mm 1s whoop?
@lievenvv7 ай бұрын
@prottentogo When it starts to affect thrust or flight time I guess? ;) Just go as high as you need to feel locked in

What to do if I have roll washout in hard maneuvers? Example in this video by RAB_FPV (timestamped): kzbin.info/www/bejne/qn6cXqF3lL6Kg8U
@uavtech3 жыл бұрын
Hummmm. The left side just drops it seems. Hard to tell without motor noise, etc... could be maybe a micro desync. Brushless? If so, I would look at raising Dshot Idle some to see if it goes away. Otherwise the quad is reaching max thrust. Could try props out to eek out a little more in 180 turns or you would need to know the PIDs. If yaw is high, maybe make it lower so Roll commands MORE authority. But then you might get more yaw weird movement.

Today also experienced this on full throttle full pitch right turn, on left turns its ok. Props-out
