Looks like the Mommy Dearests didn't pick up on the "goodbye forever" part of the letter but then, being "Mommy Dearests" they probably don't care.

They'll be the ones to send a copy of "doormat mom no more." To the couple as a bonus gift.

And the mothers did show up wearing white, lacy coverings so they can get married, do their husbands a favor when they go to the courthouse later to sign their marriage certificate and sign the divorce papers too. Then live happily ever after together somewhere else.

The moms deserved every part of "their" wedding! Good on those two women for eloping! They are not "girls"! ✌️

Planning your ideal wedding for someone else because you offered to pay is tacky and reeks of narcissism. I hope the two moms enjoy their waste of money and are laughed at by all the people they decided to invite

Good for them, cutting out these two control freak mothers and starting a new life without them.

How did the party go?? Did they still walk down the isle in those white dresses 😂😂😂😂?

I eloped and it was the best decision I think I've made. We did have a church ceremony - all the trimmings, for the mothers 6 months later, and finally told the families about everything about 5 years after that. It was lovely to have a ceremony that was just us, for us, and the family get-together at a later point when we could focus on that. I hope the girls have a great relationship and are able to, eventually, allow their mothers back into their lives - with definite limitations. That was so toxic to watch and I hoped they'd do something like that.

The entitlement all around…traditional wedding expectations (parents pay for everything) from an alternative lifestyle… the vicarious living through your children because you’re paying. And the vendor thinking they should have a say so in the procedure, when the people writing the check ultimately have all the power. And if the to be married couple are the ones who signed the contract, not the moms, they should remember that the moms have no financial obligation at all, the couple does.

Yes they should appreciate how much their parents are spending on their day but their parents need to really understand it's their day

It'll be interesting to see how many of the guests just turn around and leave, as most of them will know these 2 mothers well enough to figure out what happened.
