Back in the ‘90’s when RBCD Ammunition was just becoming known, one of their sales people came to gun shops in the Corpus Christi, Texas area, and to one in particular in Portland, Texas to Pop’s Gun Shop to try and get him to buy and push the ammo. I was in that day working on my FN FAL rifle in .308. The salesman gave Pop and me the ammo we would normally shoot which was .45acp and.308. The .45acp had a 60 gr. polymer and one micron metal round, and the.308 was molybdenum coated bullet. He said that it would penetrate a 1” steel plate. Pop and I took the ammo out to the range and setup the plate at 100 feet. We first fired some plain full metal jacketed rounds at the plates, only denting them. We then each shot our plate with the RBCD molybdenum rounds and it looked like it had been drilled with a drill press. He salesman had told use they were armor piercing but we had heard that before, but that ammo blew us away. I still have some rounds for special times. I understand that RBCDhas quit making the rounds, I know that they no longer make the 60gr. .45acp.

Keep in mind the difference between a swinging target able to deflect a massive amount of impact and sort of "bounce back", vs a static heavy target which has no choice but to absorb that kinetic energy or break.

Jose Gomez Wrong, the energy is turned in to heat and kinetic energy, these are wasted forces, Think of it like someone is pushing you backwards as hard as they can against your chest, if you're moving backwards it doesn't feel like a lot of pressure but if you then get trapped against a wall you're going to feel a lot of pressure on your chest, possibly rib fractures.

Yes sir! I have a few of the same ones and it specifically states on the package to "hang" the target ro prevent penetrating.

TBH, a large part of why the .50BMG didn't penetrate the target is because said target was hanging from two chains and wasn't secured at the bottom, allowing it to swing enough to dissipate a good deal of the force hitting it. If you chained the bottom to those stakes, you'd have cracked the target in half before you even got to the .50

Just watched your buddies video @ Going Ballistic, and they were shooting 50cal at 2-1” slabs of titanium. I never knew ar500 steel was tougher than titanium, but the proof is in the pudding so they say. Crazy!

Edwin Sarkissian's test were poorly done and for click baits. He never even mention what kind of Titanium he was shooting at nor how thick it even was. Edwin was shooting at 1.5" thick Grade 5 Titanium.

Yeah, .243. Flat shooting, powerful, low kick... kind of a neglected round. My favorite hunting round. Great for deer and varmints depending on the bullet weight. Love my .243 Savage Axis.

Great video but please shoot behind a protective barrier at 12 yds and-angle the target to one side a little. The penetrator in the armor piercing round is most likely still intact somewhere around the target area. On Going Ballistic while shooting at 2” of titanium, the penetrator ricocheted near the shooter hitting one of their trucks. Friendly suggestion.
