One sad mistake too many of us make is to just move along as Marisa said. Speak up early, express your needs and wants. Always reminding each other that we're on the same team. I learned my lessons the hard way. Time to move on.

Also don't wait or hope for them to change, it most likely will never happen and you'll only be regretful of the years wasted. Set yourself a limit, no change after communicating it, better leave it there. What's meant to be, will be!

It is hard to do this when our parents never let us express our needs, feelings, opinions because one or more were narcissistic. For us to do so with our family of origin would mean we would be rejected, seen as selfish, abused, or abandoned.

@@dhfjgktdmfhfj1716 this is so true. My boyfriend does the same. He can't seem to understand that I'm expressing a need bc I'd love for him to be cooperating with me, to show me that he cares how I feel and is interested in trying to do things better next time. He just gets upset and wants to be alone. He's even rude sometimes. This is becoming unbearable for me. I don't want to be in a silent relationship.

@@TheWilDOn31 Expressing emotions is literally the quickest way to connect and literally costs nothing! I feel if a man can't than he is either an emotional child and I won't be his mother or he is blatantly selfish. Think of all women do to make their men happy! And think what all men are willing to put into something they actually care for like their job or football or their car or impressing their peers or whatever. Its not worth emotionally carrying both side 🤷‍♀️❤

I just want to say that you are amazing and thank you so much for these videos. I lost my grandmother last year and a few months later my ex gf left me. It has been quite a journey but my ex left me at the time when I needed her the most and she used my grieving as an excuse. I realized that I have a lot of trauma to heal from, a lot of trauma from childhood. I have to heal from a lot especially toxic patterns and losing my grand mother, she was like a mom to me. I have a mother but she was never a mother to her children, I grieve that mother I never had and I am grieving the loss of my grandma who was that mom I always wanted and needed. I am starting to tear up as I write this but I am so grateful that I found your channel. You have really helped me and helped so many others. Thank you so much :)

Think I've heard this one before, but your videos are amazingly straightforward but so many people do not communicate I used to say this to my ex that communication is key when we were going through a tough time.. I did my best to be open emotionally which isn't intuitive usually for men but she was the opposite. Needless to say there were deep seated issues and it eventually caused the end of the relationship after a number of years. But I follow your stuff and think your videos are amazingly insightful for men and women alike.

@@sarapatch616 Some butterflies are definitely normal and can be a good thing, but if you’re feeling a lot of fluttering in your stomach because of your relationship, make sure you’re not ignoring some major red flags. There at least 9 warning signs in relationships that can be mistakenly feel like butterflies. When you are in touch with the Self in you, and have a healthy relationship with yourself you will have healthy instinct. And I just said listen to your instinct and common sense. But when that is distorted then indeed it will be hard to deal with it 🤷🏻‍♀️🌺 Wish you happiness and healthy relationships, especially with the most important person in your life, the one that is staring back at you in the mirror💖

@Robezpierd You’re very insightful. Thank you. And yes, “we need to talk”, is an immediate conversation stopper. I might as well say, “go ahead and stick your fingers in your ears.” If I’m not artfully tactful and go straight into the meat of the issue, then I might as well be talking to myself. ... I was better at navigating him and his moods before we had a kid. I think now we need family counseling. Thanks for all your kindness. 💖 and you’re spot on about this childhood trauma that still needs to be addressed and healed. But he stuffs everything down, as that has always been his approach. I love him dearly.

I lived with a man that bought me a whole suitcase of kitchen knifes for Christmas. He asked me three times in a row if I wanted it as a present. A salesperson has popped up at his work, and several coworkers had bought it. I said no each time, because I wanted a romantic suprise gift. The last day before Christmas he came home with the suitcase unwrapped. He told me, he bought it anyway, because he was given so much discont. The coworkers paid full price earlier. I said nothing, just took the suitcase an put it into his closet. I never once used the knifes. He got his friend, who was a chef, to look at them. He told my man that they where fake and at no good use. Guess what I left behind when I moved out...
