JUST got my BRB two weeks ago. He’s about a month old and extremely calm. Freakishly calm!! I hope he stays that way as he ages but I feel SO lucky. Definitely had feisty snakes too so I’m relieved he’s THIS relaxed at such a young age. (Also I love Bowie- she’s adorable)

Thank you so much for this video (and all your videos about BRBs)! I definitely really want a BRB of my own someday, but I’m at least a couple years away from that. In the meantime I’m doing lots of research and enjoying my ball python. Thank you for not just showcasing the positives but also talking about the negatives! Still definitely want my own BRB someday though. 😊❤️

I got a brb last week after months and months of research including your videos. I named her Isidora and she is roughly 3 months ❤ I’m so in love with her but I am constantly worried about doing something wrong as it is my first snake! I’ve got a healthy bullfrog and a leopard gecko but I always wanted a snake and I finally got her. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your experiences and all you do!

I have a Irian Jaya BTS so I’m used to the high humidity requirement and I want a BRB so bad I will endure a bite daily if that’s what it will take lol! I also found your tip about the wet towel over the top the enclosure very helpful to hold the humidity high. Love your channel!

How about using a reptile humidifier for the terrarium? Would that be good? Because I have a argentinian tegu and for the humidity I use a humidifier with a timer. What is your thoughts on them?

Also, my rainbow grew very fast. One mouse a week, then went to two per week. And dude, every week she was noticeably bigger.

Good morning! My biggest challenges, so far, is that I can never find her! She LOVES to bury herself in her bioactive substrate. So, on feeding days, it is sometimes a mission to find where she has buried herself. Second, she does not eat like a typical boa for me. Sometimes, she will strike, coil, and release 2-3 times. I have to keep re-offering it to her. Sometimes she will eat the first time, but a lot of the times she won't. She has never been nippy. That is good for me. Each has their own personalities, of course. The humidity issue is not that big of a deal. I bought a Mist King system with a timer. In an overabundance of worry about it, I also got a $40 fogger from Amazon. Could have definitely survived with one or the other. How much does she weigh these days? My girl is still a noodle with a head, but she has probably tripled in weight since I got her. She was TINY!

Thank you so much for sharing all of your experience! It’s so helpful for others to get more insight since each one is so different. Also, I hear this all the time how people can’t find their brb in the setup since they always burrow. 😂 I have no idea how much Bowie weighs 😅

this species is on my maybe someday list, so i'm in the learn all the things mode. :) with as smart as they are i wonder if they'd respond well to target training (specific target only shows up at meal time, to signal yes this time is food time.) i don't need it for my current reptiles but have taught my chickens that the only time i'm giving them live bugs they come from tongs, not fingers 😅
@lindsayschmidt2177 Жыл бұрын
I definitely think BRBs would be a good fit for target training! If you haven’t seen his videos before Green Room Pythons has some amazing videos about target training. Even his ball pythons are target trained.

I'm 29, and my first time ever seeing a BRB was when I was about 6 or 7 years old. Fell in love with them instantly, & I always wanted to have one ever since, but none of these deterred me from that. If I ever do get one, it'll be in a big, beautiful bioactive setup ❤🧡💛💚💙🩵🖤🩶

You are funny. The BRB's are one of the most docile snakes you can get. Mine have never even tried to bite. In fact, I have never met a BRB owner that has claimed to have a feisty one.

The baby I got was as friendly as could be. Every snake is different. My baby never bit me, she only bit my little cousin in the ear because he was moving his head a lot as she was on his shoulders. Tap her mouth a few times and she will strike but she just scared. Also, I put a water tube in the tank big enough for her. Lmao, she went into the water and NEVER left it. Basically a water snake. Weeks, months on end, always in the water.

The title of this is misleading.. BRB owners I’ve spoken to say it is their absolute favorite snake with zero to maybe one complaint. If you want one, GET ONE! The husbandry is not hard it just needs to be consistent. I’m speaking to a breeder now about one and hopefully it’s not too much of a bitey baby!
