Sweet Serum is an amazingly versatile synth, but a little lacking in terms of FM synthesis. In today's lesson, we learn what FM means and how we can use Ableton's Operator with Serum FX to create a sweet wumpus. Let's get started.

for the midi routing part, you could easily make an instrument rack with the operator, add a parallel "External Instrument" Device and route the midi to SerumFX, no additional messy midi track needed.

I'm kinda the opposite - I shelled out for Suite and can't afford Serum's exorbitant fees having done so. I wonder if there's an Ableton-only equivalent of the Serum effects setup they use here?

@@Skiamakhos there is, you can use envelope and lfo max for live devices to fire any knob on any device in the chain. search youtube for Ableton Live is a Modular Synth
