I made cold process soap 1 week ago and currently curing. I have used lard though, Olive oil and coconut oil. I tested it and it was very moisturising and lots of bubbles 🥰

Hi Marissa, your love of tallow is such beneficial information for the organic and nature-loving community. What is truly special is that you are the best person to present beef tallow to the audience because you wear it so well. So many have been filled with negative info regarding meat and meat-based ingredients that they have thrown the baby out with the bath water (to use a phrase). Please continue to tout the benefits because there are virtually only benefits to tallow for food or beauty use and no negative side effects. Thanks for another useful video!

Thank you so much! I agree, it is the way conventional animals are raised that is the problem. When the animals are healthy, on pasture, raised humanely, tallow and other animal products are amazing for health! Thanks for watching, and for the kind words :)

Used lard alone for soap so I could make saddle soap that I knew the ingredients of omitting any harsh petroleum products that eat stitching or oxidize. Lard Vs. Tallow was suggested as more nourishing to leather. Ive made 5 batches of soap now from laundry to strictly olive oil to blends with clays for color & essential oils. Already Im finding simpler is better. I will incorporate lard into my next mix (a 70/30 olive oil coconut split) for improved longevity & scent holding power (along with the clays) plus with animal fat you get a naturally creamy white base color thats great for making your clay colors pop. This next 1 Im doing will be a half white, half a sort of a french blue (mixing purple & indigo) because my essential oil for this 1 is lilac, & a sm percent of charcoal coloring between the white & the lilac for a visual. Plunge pouring the blue through the black into the white. The lard really is economical & so far pricing out a 10-12 bar batch can be as cheap as $12.00 but with really pricey essential oils like lemon myrtle, cinnamon oil etc the same batch can cost triple! Or more! So improving life & aesthetic of the bar helps justify pricing. Just a hobby for now.

Wow, excellent information ❤️ I use mostly tallow and coconut oil in soap making, I haven't made a pure tallow soap yet, but I definitely will. I also use tallow (mixed with a little bit of herbal infused olive oil) to make salves, which are amazing❤️❤️ thank you very much for such a great video. I will look for your tallow shampoo bars.

100th like! I recently bought a 1/4 share of a 100% grass-fed cow from a local farm and it came with a lot of tallow. I will definitely be making your tallow soap and face-moisturizing cream this weekend!

5 Minute body. Dr. Ken Berry’s wife Neisha. Kelly Hogan. I’m a Carnivore myself, and a 100% grass-fed sheep & beef farmer. Currently binge watching your videos and plan to make some whipped tallow moisturiser. I have seen one online that uses Emu oil instead of olive oil. Most Carnivores would prefer to use animal based products as many of us have health problems due to plants.

Hi Marissa, I just ordered tallow from Amozon and I can't wait to make some tallow soap! I'm 59 yrs old and I hate soaps that are drying and make my skin tight. I make my own soap and I do use sweet almond oils, olive oil and palm, I love them don't get me wrong, but, I have been wanting to use tallow because it's cheaper and it makes the bars whiter and harder, but I didn't realize how much benef

Do you use sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide? There are so many videos on making soap with tallow but they’re all so different I’m not sure what to do and how to make it work best. I want to use potassium because I want to make my own from hardwood ash, but everybody has a different process 😂 Love your videos!

Going to render today. ❗Question please..... The extra fat that I received from the butcher has slivers of red meat on the fat. Is it important to cut ALL that off, it's minimal, 97% fat? Or will it render off in the impurities after 2 times? It's not kidney fat. I sincerely appreciate your help. Thank you kindly🤗
@bumblebeeapothecary4 жыл бұрын
Very small amounts, like slivers, won't be a problem, it's okay to leave them :) They will be left over as gristly bits after the fat melts into tallow. You're welcome!

Tallow and lard get a really bad rap, but everyone is mad for butters lol. I love lard in my pastry and my soap. Grass fed/organic is a marketing scam. It doesn’t matter in a rinse off product and a waste of money. I worked in a meat department of a grocery store, fat trimmings from the beef went into the bone can and was picked up once a week from guess? .. a soap company

@@bumblebeeapothecary I run this rec in the calculator and gives just 42 at conditioning value where the minimum is 44 in the recommended range. I am very surprised because I was expecting a much higher value.

Is lard good too?
@bumblebeeapothecary3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's pretty good, but not quite as high in nutrients as tallow. It works in a similar way in soap, so the benefits there are pretty much the same :)
