Six out of ten auction records last year were set by African-American artists. Their star is also rising in Switzerland: Eva Presenhuber and Hauser & Wirth, two major galleries, are showing art by African-American artists this month. We look at why this genre is increasingly in the spotlight.

Did he say “come back alive ,make a few things then die again”😂umm what

What I find a bit uneasy about the art market, is how much collectors can’t wait for the artist to die. It’s like the only way the value of art increases exponentially, especially when the artist is dead. So it’s like selling your soul basically. It’s not you they want, it’s your story. They promise you some disillusionment of immortality, “you live forever through your art”. Lol so you mean to tell me that artists sole purpose is to spend their entire lives creating stunning masterpieces that may never be truly cherished whilst they still alive but will definitely boost the art market once they dead? 😂 it’s not even funny, it’s scary tbh. Anyway that’s just my opinion, either way I will always appreciate and embrace art as a form of expression. As a matter of fact I recommend everyone to embrace art, it can be very therapeutic and insightful. You don’t even have to be an aspiring artist, just make it for yourself and loved ones, it can be very fulfilling.

I think value is placed on an Artwork based on the narrative, and the ability of the artist to express an emotional connection to a piece

The wonderful pieces of art and culture as they are known eversince. One must experience strokes of colors, hues, as well as the gravity of every masterpiece. It is what the matte, the Latte's of grains of every strand, felt, experienced, experiences in many places. They are also avenues in the vastness of the everlasting. Keep going with these, it is freedom and independence that speaks aloud, and full of vibrant energies, skillfully perfected, preserved. It caters, it is to cater, to deliver, for it does not hinder growth. Piece by piece they are memorabilias, they are fiascos of treasures in many museums, the way feathers, buds, faunas and barks embarks their pieces of art. Everyone are accounted, sought after pieces. The Hall of Galleries for the Time Hunters.

ARTIST; ENTREPRENUERS: My worse fear on returning to America after living and earnings a living in west-Africa eleven (11) years as a jewelry-craftsman were to depend on someone or organization for a job.. And All praises to the Creator, it wasn't necessary.. Thanks to the wisdom of a dear friend, Dr. Margaret Burroughs who during one of her visits to Ghana, I enquired as to could I earn a living as a craftsman when I return to America? "Kojo, no one gonna give you a job unless you've been authenticated, so your best bet is to do as you have done here (Africa) MAKE YOUR OWN JOB. which eased my mind on the matter. 1st, seek out Afro-centric minded Americans that supported Black Artist & their Artworks. Long story shorten; Checkout My Online Art-Galleries: mysankofa2012.artspan.com/ If only www was around 30 or 40 years ago :-)

sure because hundreds of random collectors over the course of several distinct auctions anonymously agreed to ‘patronise’ African Americans. you sound incredibly dumb, bitter and ignorant and clearly know nothing about the art market and the economics surrounding following trends to make a quick buck.
