I concur. I was hoping the Raiders would've landed Daniels or Penix. That of course didn't happen. AOC now has one year of experience and consistency after last season's dysfunction and McDaniel's mind games, he should improve (hopefully a huge performance jump).

Idk how people can think our QB situation can be worse than last season. Last year we had Jimmy G and freakin Hoyer start games along with a day 3 rookie. This year we have a capable backup or fringe starter with Minshew and a 2nd year QB with a good amount of starts for a sophmore and even Anthony Brown Jr. has a couple of starts under his belt 😅 not night and day exactly but definitely an upgrade!

I agree with your wait and see approach with Luke Getsy. Though I rarely hear the fact that Bo Hardegree was calling plays for half the season brought up. He had never called plays before that. Surely Getsy will have the offense looking better than Bo did.

@@SIlverBlackToday Seriously? I've been a Silver and Black devotee for over 50 years -- the media has always hated us! Once, I read an article from a San Francisco sports reporter covering our game. The entire article focused on the fact Al Davis served boiled hot dogs in the Oakland media room .He whined that in DeBartolo's Niner media room they were served gourmet sandwiches. The article barely covered the game -- I guess because we whipped the Niners ass as usual. But, what about the recent Sporting News article that had us rated 31st out of 32 NFL teams as far as off-season transactions??? Objective, my Silver and Black ass... And PFF had our roster strength ranked 23 out of 32 NFL teams??? With all do respect, you actually think the national media is objective about the Raiders??? You must be new if you haven't experienced the "subjective" garbage of our media coverage... Well, objectively, I think you outta your effing mind... enjoy the show though...

O’Connell is supposed to be the starting quarterback this next season. If that’s the way AP is rolling that’s ok. He needs more time to learn how to read defenses and how to push out wins at the end of games. There should not be any excuses if he fails in the first half of the season. If O’Connell holds back the offense in anyway he will need to be set on the side to watch and learn. He will either have it in him or not. There is a lot on the line for the whole team and will be relying on him to lead the offense to score a lot of points. Not run the ball 35 times and throw it 15 to 20 times to keep him from losing the games with his arm and judgement.

What a great show guys. I was very entertained, especially by the McDaniels call, lol. I'm really intrigued about Adams in the Getsy offense because if he has a Green Bay-like season like he did with Matt LaFleur before leaving the Packers we're in for a potential offensive player of the year candidate, however he's never played with Minshew before so there might be growing pains there. If this offense truly is simpler than the McDoorbell offense then i believe O'Connell might have a jump in his second season, not that he's gonna be the best quarterback in 2024 but i feel like he might become a top 20 quarterback in the league, which is a decent jump, since he's ranked like 31 out of 32 starting quarterbacks right now. As far as Trey Lance is concerned after hearing your arguments on him i say go for it, he might work out and be a future back up. I feel like Spillane was better than expected last season and when he was on the Steelers he wasn't even known or talked about, the dude played incredibly well, has been one of the best linebackers the Raiders have had for the last 5 years and if he becomes even better than last season i'd say lets extend him, the guy is a Raider no doubt.

He won games with a rookie QB from a mining academy. Fields is not a trigger puller AOC will stay in his progressions. You’re going to see an offense that will grow. One read and run QBs look great until the first ankle sprain and nfl DCs cut the field off on them. The hilarious take on Stroud was he wasn’t a dynamic runner. That’s a good thing!!

Aidan is better than advertised but needs to get better at consistent play and pocket presence. At the same time, which young QB doesn’t? Aidan has a complete team around him and will have a better season than some may think.

Second he was getting second string reps before his start with the Chargers which is 0-1 on his record with bad coaching. Then went 5-4 with a coach with no experience but still finished among the top rookies. Then the draft comes and everyone felt the need for a top 3 QB and thought trading up would be wise. Then being ridiculed for having the worst QB room in the league as if he was just hot garbage last year with no room for growth. Then there’s those who think he should be the backup this upcoming season. So with all that being said…yes I feel he’s better than advertised.

I think Derek Carr regressed in general. Not just under McDaniels. He had very similar stats in New Orleans. Also a questionable OC there to his credit.

Football year round would be awesome, but would no longer be a treat. Another game would be good as well. It's a matter of the human body being able to sustain. We already have injuries to deal with so I'm thinking more games = more injuries. Just a vicious cycle. Also there's going to be more revenue so how does that translate to contracts.
