Why am I still a Christian?

Christians can be major jerks, and some of them have made my life miserable. So why do I even bother continuing to identify myself as one of them?

I LOVE the comparison to 12 step programs. Becoming a part of a 12 step group has helped me to meet Christ again, as my "higher power," and the Serenity Prayer is an enormous help to me in dealing with how people tend to view Christians in the West in 2020. I just need to focus on the courage to change my own attitudes and actions. Thank you, Justin!

I'm not a Christian anymore, but Christianity is here to stay and I'm glad it's populating itself with good-willed, fair-minded peeps like yourself, Justin. I couldn't reconcile the Bible and gayness back in 1993 (no one could it seemed) but those of you who do, here in 2019, you have my support on behalf the the millions of gay people still under the lock and chain of fundamentalism.
