The EU has another giant problem: The Euro, which is a currency that central banks controlled by governments manipulate for political ends. In the 1940's, the Nazi's marched on Greece and in the end, they lost it. A decade ago, in order to keep Greece in the Eurozone, hard working Germans had to bail out a whole lot of Greeks who'd rather lie on the beach all day. The fiddling with the Euro to keep political alliances together causes the actual value of the currency to be enough out of touch with reality that interest rates are always going to be a bit screwy. And lenders don't like to loan to small businesses if the rates are distorted to be too low, meaning they'll never get their money back. At the same time, if rates were too high, lenders would be happy to make the loans but no borrower is going to be able to afford the interest to pay the loan back. The only system that works is if the market prevails to set the long-term value of the currency at a point where the borrower/lender transaction takes place. Politicians in the US would be wise to recognize this. Every time you start a "stimulus" in the US, it involves printing gobs of new money, which eventually drives up inflation and interest rates. (And in recent decades the US Federal Reserve has been discovering they don't have enough magic handles to pull to counteract this basic fact of macroeconomics. Well, not all of the Fed members have discovered this. Guys like Richard Fisher of the Dallas Fed already knew it and tried to raise awareness, largely getting nowhere in the Obama era of "Let's blow money on Solyndra and Cash for Klunkers!" And if you gave Janet Yellen a book on economics, the most she could do is chew the covers off. She remains clueless, which is probably why she's in the Biden cabinet.) In any case, flood an economy with money when there's no change in the demand in it or that economy's factors of production, and you're going to distort the lending of money in ways that assure that businesses can't get capitalized. Tune in tomorrow and we can discuss what happens when you tax unrealized capital gains, as a complete economic idiot presently running for President has suggested...

Yes, we used to be true innovators. The problem is is I would say about the late 60s early 70s. Our government decided to start punishing people for innovation because it seems like today we don’t innovate near as much as we used to. We don’t progress because of that I mean here and there we have the occasional technical innovation, but not like we did from, let’s say the 1920s all the way through to the 1960s we don’t innovate like we used to and the reason is because governmental, red tape, governmental restrictions and governmental interference in innovation has stifled the American juggernaut in stagnant while the rest of the world tries to catch up this is another problem of the left. We could’ve kept going, but the political left does not like true innovation because innovation like you said it’s building the better mouse trap and making money off of that and we all know that left us don’t like money don’t like us making money they want us to, die innovatively because if you can chokehold the thing to death, you can control a thing to death. I mean just look at the fact we haven’t built a brand new refinery in this country in almost 60 years with today’s technologies we shouldn’t have the problems we have we’re finding petroleum reason regulation. We don’t have nuclear power plants and we wouldn’t have a problem with our power grid as much as we do today why again government interference, government, red tape, and insanity because we can only depend on wind and solar. It’s not always sunny and it’s not always blow the windows and always blowing There no one wants to look into like geothermal can’t do that because oh no, we might hurt something. Our government has so many regulatory agencies. It’s not funny and some of those agencies need to be culled and we need to get back to the concept of less government and less government interference and more innovation. We can make things better if we give half the chance but again government likes to stick its nose in where it’s not want it or not welcome

You know, I agree with most of what comes onto this channel. But this video is just nonsense. The technology for the lightbulb came from Italy (Alessandro Volta), Alexander Graham Bell was Scottish, computers are English (Charles Babbage), the first assembly line was in England for the Royal Navy (built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel's father no less), the fathers of nuclear energy were all German or Hungarian, internal combustion was German, the steam engine was Scottish... the only truly significant inventions the US can claim are the internet, mobile phones and airplanes.
@THall-vi8cp3 ай бұрын
He didn't say computers were invented the US. He said, "the PC." The _personal computer._ That's a far cry from Babbage's difference engine. Bell was born in Scotland but he worked on and developed the telephone both his family home in Canada and at his office in Boston. He patented the telephone in the US. Volta may have developed the initial tech for lightbulbs, but it was Edison who made them prectical for everyday use. The invention of the internal combustion engine was done by English and American inventors way back in the 1700s. Later, German inventors improved on the designs and made them practical (like Edison did with the lightbulb -- interesting). You're correct that Hungarians and Germans worked on nuclear technology...in the United States. They helped early American nuclear physicists, as part of the Manhattan Project, build a bomb. American scientists and engineers then innovated and used it to build thermonuclear weapons (first postulatd by Fermi at Columbia University in 1941) and nuclear reactors as a source of energy.
