I am. I was a doctor MD. I quit 25 years ago. I studied acupuncture and have been practicing for 20 years. Its not the patients fault. Doctors burn out bcz medicine became business with a battle between drug, insurance and food companies for a profit. I moved to USA after 10 years practicing medicine overseas and wanted to be certified and practice here. However, after one year, i noticed that Doctors here are regular employees that they spend more time with paper work. So two eyes on paper, one ear to the patient and the other ear is somewhere else. Its not their fault either. My advice: Americans have the largest kitchens in the world, yet, i noticed that it is used maily for making sandwich and heating already made food. So make your kitchen your gym. Cook your own food. Its much healthier to spend your time cooking than spending it in the gym while eating What the food industries pushed in our mouths.

I totally agree! And I am one of those plant based, whole foods, cook you own foods, invent new recipe people. If I have not given up aminal foods, cokes (all soft drinks) in the last couple of decades I would be a sad very sick person. But as it is I have no heart disease, no diabetes, no high cholesterol, and am generally considered very healthy. I am so happy I made the changes I did when I did, once I realized a person will not become malnourished from not eating animal foods. I previously thought vegans and vegetarians were skinny sick malnourished people, but NOT SO! Some foods, such avocados, are very healthy, but eating lots of them can cause one to gain weight. So moderation even for us plant based people. We watched our dad suffer through what he thought were chiropractic problems. It turned out he was suffering pain from his heart. He ate out every meal he could. Eggs, bacon & hash browns for breakfast. Fried chicken and beans for lunch. Unhealthy dinners. He literally ate himself to death. His Dr finally told him: No more fried chicken. Maybe his Dr. finally asked him what he was eating? I don’t know. But it was far too late. He died within a couple of weeks of the no chicken instructions. He lived in pain for years. I prefer not to suffer as he did, and I don’t. If more patients would simply eat right, Drs could take care of other things that are not self induced illness by eating things that make you sick within minutes of ingesting them. The high blood fat levels begin within minutes of eating fat laden foods. Then the body works hard to clear that out, then they do it again. The body works so hard, yet people abuse it meal after meal. Poor body and poor Drs trying to convince patients to just STOP abusing themselves. Foods can kill as easily as illicit drugs, alcohol, and other things. But death by fatty foods is s slow painful death. It gets to the point that the only organ that ever feels any pleasure is the tongue. Yet these pleasure seekers continue to try to “enjoy life” with the same old bad choices, and suffer even more as a result. My dad finished off with massive heart attacks and died within a week. He spent nearly a week in hospital, then in less than 24 hours in the rehab. I don’t do what I do with the purpose of not ending up like him. I started my lifestyle changes before we even knew of his illness, over eating induced. I began years before, and he did too actually, but later he decided this diet was not for him and he went back to animal foods. Then over the course of a decade, he got worse and worse, as I was getting better and better. I’m glad I kept on, maybe I would be right behind him, soon pushing up daisies. But as it is, it looks like I have many good years left to enjoy.

I stopped having faith in doctors when I went to a gastroenterologist and said that I thought some of my problems were probably from the food I was eating. He said that food would not affect my stomach even if I was allergic to those foods. I knew that certain foods did affect me. I began limiting my diet and researching so called food products. I found out it was the processed foods I was eating. He said I was crazy. I'm well now, no thanks to that doctor.

She didn’t say much and as the conversation went on and I educated her on what I learned. She then said “well, we got the J and J”. That’s all I needed to know and I new she did have concerns. I knew these Doctors are following medicine that isn’t about our health. I walked out and never went went back. these doctors took an oath to do no harm. They are harming humans.period! Most interesting to listen to and was not rushed . My Grandfather who lived well into his nineties who died about 35 years ago had never been to the doctors and refused to even see one. Seems he knew something even then . As far as i know he was never on any type of medication. He did smoke and drink but no adverse affects. His daughter did say he would eat sparingly but always home cooked food. When he had a bad cold or flu aged 90 his daughter did call the doctor as she was worried but when the doctor arrived he was fit enough to chase him out of the house.

I think you missed the deeper rooted point of why Dr. Goobie quit medicine. He never wanted to be a doctor in the first place. It was never his goal. He just went along with it for all the obvious reasons. Somewhere along the way, long before he discovered all the problems with the med/pharm complex, his inner voice started telling him this wasn't for him. He spent 20 or so years going along with it, building up hatred for himself for not listening to his inner voice. That's what was at the core of all his torment and anguish. (Think of the poor kid in the movie Dead Poets Society who offs himself preemptively because he wanted to be an actor, not a doctor, like his parents had planned for him and rest of THEIR lives.) If that's not enough, add on top of that was the realization of all the disillusionment of the med/pharm complex, and all the fraud in which he found himself directly or indirectly participating.

My primary doctor at Kaiser looked exhausted when I saw her for a concern about my lower back. I don’t think she has time to read current research papers. She surely works at more than one Kaiser. After 8 minutes she ordered some physical therapy sessions for me because I requested them . Then she told me that she wished she would be as healthy as i am when she gets to be my age. I did not receive a single advice from her. I should be happy to hear that, right? Sadly I felt ignored somehow. Now I think our dear Dr Goobie quits because he realized he’s there to make money for the hospital and insurance company.

Thank you. This is very refreshing in your honesty and sharing your thought process. I realized much of what you said in this video during Covid. (Better late than never) While I have always taken responsibility for my health as best I could using the limited information available, I came to realize that the available information can not be trusted to be in my best interest and neither could doctors. I lost trust in the whole system and have been endeavoring to teach myself through reading and listening to multiple people like you how to take care of myself. That is working much better for me. I no longer am considered to have high BP even though I have been off BP meds for over a year. I found a nurse practitioner who is willing and able to help support that. I am trying now to figure out how best to alleviate my migraines without meds if possible. Thank you for your part in helping me to learn and to think it through for myself. I’m grateful.

My mother is a well educated and informed patient, and she has always eaten healthy, and lived a healthy life. Her Oncologist did nothing but ordered chemo, diagnostic tests and prescribe medications; but charge his cancer patients $700 every visit; thank God my mother has health insurance; imagine those patients who don't!? My mother has being cancer free for five years now. A lot of patients can't exercise as you suggest they should. My mother is 85 yrs old; her physical limitations doesn't allow it; although she is extremely physically active for her age. And no, Doctors are not Gods; you don't have even a third of all the answers for your patient's wellbeing; and yet you charge your patients an exuberant amount of money; practically their life's savings; and then imply that your failures to get then better is the patient's own fault!? how cynical of you!!.

Great video doc. I have practiced Applied Kinesiology chiropractic for 39+ years in Massachusetts. Western medicine has a place -- A VERY, VERY NARROW place in the world of "health care". It can be life saving, obviously. Incredible surgeries, and so forth. If you literally can't synthesize insulin, for instance - you'll die unless you get it exogenously. HOWEVER -- IMO - literally 95% of medical intervention is complete b.s. Big pharma amounts to an absolutely criminal enterprise at this point. Pfizer's revenues in in first yr of Covid vax were $100,000,000,000! My practice is based hugely in lifestyle and nutrition. Example - almost EVERYONE's digestive and inflammatory imbalances are relieved by 50 to 100% within a month of removing gluten and sugar from the diet. Now - that's just a starting point -- but that's ridiculous, right? The body has an almost unbelievable capacity to heal itself, if provided with the right nutritional building blocks, and the impediments to healing are identified and removed. Keep the great work doc Adam. :)

💔When I was at university, this was referred to as the midlife crisis in psychology. It is a part of our natural evolution as human beings. It is a time of tremendous emotional turmoil and deep self-reflection. It is nothing new, though. Since we were tiny tots we have suffered from growing pains during different stages of our lives. Now we refer to it as a spiritual awakening. We marvel at someone who is highly valued in our society, and who is going through this chapter of their life, as if no one ever has before. This is the story of every human being from the beginning of time. The only thing that has changed is our terminology to describe this chapter of someone's life. I suspect it is because life has wounded all of us, and we are desperately searching for a hero. When we find our hero, we wrap him in golden threads of light and stand in awe of his mere presence...

Good eating is a medical practice. Food really is "medicine", and yes, we'll have to fight for healthy agricultural and production conditions. The choice to leave medical practice seems to be driven, at least in part, by two realizations: Medicine for Profit serves those who profit most from it; and Medicine as symptom treatment but not whole-body health does not work well for the patient. After many years of training and plain old exhaustion, it's understandable that one would tire of how the profession has been contaminated and reduced by greed.

I think it all comes down to "the food" like Allen Roberts says, the fat acceptance movement is not about accepting one's body being fat because fat people don't want to be fat, the fat acceptance movement is about eating lots of food and the wrong type of food food like products like Allen Roberts would call it which is exactly what process junk crap food is, it's not food it's food like products, so even if all doctors were trained in nutrition and can give their patients a really good nutrition plan to heal naturally The real question is would patience listen?? I think that's a tough question it still would be wonderful if doctors could give patients real good nutrition advice one-on-one Because not everyone is going to go on KZbin and watch Ken Berry Sean Baker or any of these meat doctors for advice, not everyone wants to go on a carnivore diet, my brother loves eating meat but even he said hell no I would never go on a carnivore diet that's stupid most people feel that way I would never go on a carnivore diet either But getting healthy doesn't have to be eating a carnivore diet either it has to start with the patient wanting to and that's the real tricky part

Allopathic medicine prosper due to the willing ignorance of the people. People need to learn about their anatomy, physiology etc.. there’s so much information and access to tutorials and documentaries etc in the internet but the truth of the matter is that people are just used to having others do the work for them. Time to get rid of these clowns and take care of self. I did, I am learning every day some new way to care for self mind, body and soul. You can do it too.

My father had "successful" brain surgery. Alzheimers set in quickly afterward. It should be up to each individual to make their own informed healthcare decisions. If a doctor ever tells me I need surgery I'd make sure there were no other safe alternatives. Now brain surgery I don't think I'd ever agree to unless somehow they were able to make it very safe and noninvasive.

I watched a few videos of Dr Goobie. Actually, they are so long and detailed that I was having anxiety. I watch many videos, and a lot on health and medicine. I always did, and now at 77, still do. From these videos I pick and choose, and that’s with everything I do. I do agree with him that he had to make a “quota” of surgeries for the hospital and him, that may not be required. That’s where I respect him, because doctors are doing this and also over prescribing medication. I’m 77 and try to eat and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I need surgery for a leaky valve and I have Afib. However, catheterization was done for my arteries and all is good, but one minor 20% blockage. Now that’s attributed to my eating. His videos at times got boring, and not to the point. This is a good video I had to watch. I’m not in the medical field or anything, but from what I saw, I think he’s somewhat eccentric, OCD, etc. I mean, to sit at the table making a long winded video on health, drinking glasses of green smoothie and eating 2-3 bowls of seeds or his love for his dog, a little too much. I agree, years of training and working in a good field, then quit? I don’t know. Somewhat strange or I just don’t understand some of his stuff. The one video was about racial discrimination. He mentioned the George Floyd incident, because he lived a few miles away. He didn’t condone the rioting, but understood why they did it. What? Some topics I don’t know why he goes there. I guess to boost KZbin $$$$. Strange.

This is a spin on why someone quit when there is literally the video available. Why would I make an explanation video on “ why someone quit?” When both, the quitter and the reason have been presented. For the mud heads who didin’t get why he quit…. The simple reason is, after “knowing thyself” you cannot take part in malpractice that are a common place occurrence in any industry, including medicine. The key point is he knows his inner true self. To put it in biblical terminology “thee has seen the father in heaven”.

So when I got the diagnosis I knew I had cancer. I wasn’t afraid. I challenged my doctors did my research and we decided my treatment protocol. I said yes to surgery, no to radiation, yes to chemotherapy. I also ate healthy, drank alkaline water, used herbs, green tea and kombucha. I was on prayer lists, I read my bible and agreed with all the healing scriptures. The doctors treated ultimately God healed me.

I dont think we are getting the whole story on Dr Dooby. The reasons he gives for leaving medicine are not unique or unnoticed by others in his profession. Maybe it could be as simple as the realization that the practice of medicne and/or surgery are not as interesting or challenging as perhaps he thought it would be after 10 or more years of training. That the effort expended to be in that role is not measuring up to his expectations,. I can say that if he does find himself working in another field he may find that the grass wont be any greener there than it was in medicine. I suspect that Dr Dooby's own expectations for happyness in general are more likely the root cause of his dissatifaction with the practice of medicine, and that he should take the time he has now to work on and explore his own intrapsychic landscape to arrive at new motivations for living a more meaninful life.

I became my own doctor because I know my body. I went to school for Medical Billing and Coding. I had to learn Medical Terminology, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, health insurance, and the Epic computer software. Unfortunately I was never given an opportunity in the field despite I graduated with honors. I used what I learned to become my own health advocate. I have a good doctor and we have a great working relationship and understanding. With every doctor and Healthcare professional I ever interacted with I use the medical Terminology not to show off but I'm on an even keel. When my doctor would recommend me something I would tell him that I need a week to think and research before giving him my decision and he respects that.

Loose joints do best with a procedure called prolotherapy or sometimes PRP Rich plasma. Most state you have to be a doctor osteopath or MD. I hope you look into Prolotherapy. If a kitchen cabinet had a loose screw, you get a screwdriver and tighten the screw. Same concept with prolotherapy many people benefit from this procedure because of loose joints. Thank the Lord my young relative who has loose ligaments is benefiting from prolotherapy Look up a well known Fort Myers practice. The explanation and utubes are very informative. Ok you address the point of “doctors should not carry the the weight of the world on their shoulders” and that humans are not perfect. But one of the MAIN point behind this doctor quitting is because of how corrupt the medical system is. When values do not align when how the system is asking you as a doctor to keep patients in that lucrative system. With all due respect , I think you’re not addressing the main point.
