This dope af. Been frustrated since I got my 2011 in 2012 that you couldn't stream from Android. Going to have to give this a shot. Thought about getting a whole new car just for bluetooth stereo capability. Not anymore.

I just bought a bluetooth adapter for the carplug, easy fix. I will do this mod at some point but for now the adapter works just fine

I just got my 12 G37 and I was so disappointed by the tech or lack of tech in this car. I can’t stream music from my phone even tho I have an iPhone. I hook up my iPhone to the USB port inside the arm rest and go to aux and the screen displays something like cannot connect. So frustrated that even Altimas from that era have that function and also other older cars can connect thru aux cable. This is supposed to be a luxury car for gods sake.

The 07-08 and 08-14 g37 has 3 component jacks in the center console. You can buy a auxiliary to component cable from Walmart for like 15$ and that’s hows I listen to music in mine. You can even hook up a DVD player or something like that and watch movies on the screen.

That will only work for models up to 2009, not anything after.

I wish!! in 2010 they gave us a usb jack to plug in an iphone or a usb drive and so not everyone owns an iphone or wants to listen to songs on a usb drive. I'm thinking of doing another hack to the system that is not as involved as this one, stay tuned.

now that I think about it more, it has to be the most terrible decision ever by a car maker. I love my car, it is the car I have must modded and one that i have owned the longest(original owner since 2012), but dam infiniti, you really jacked us up by limiting how we could play music through the car speakers. This could have been solved by either giving us bluetooth streaming capability or something as simple as a 3.5mm headphone jack, nothing more but nothing less. rant over...

Miami_g37 agreed. I used to own a 2008 g35 sedan with the hr engine. Great car but it always annoyed me how it didn’t have Bluetooth streaming and was a pain in the ass to replace the screen with something else. That car got tottaled off back in September and I now own a 2005 g35 coupe. Tbh I don’t like the coupe and I really miss My sedan so I plan on getting a g37 sedan hopefully soon.

You should design a custom PCB with all of this integrated so you dont have all this extra adapter junk and plugs.

I am surprised that you can't stream music from your phone to the car speakers. I have a 2010 G37 and have been doing it for years using Bluetooth on a Blackberry phone. I don't see why there would be a difference with Android but I have not tried doing it with my Android phone. I am in Canada but I assume the US cars are no different in that regard. I know I can't stream music with a 2009 G37 but the 2010 G37 uses the updated Bluetooth protocol that allows for music streaming and I stream without any issues.

damn this looks intense. But I'd prefer this than the tesla tablet. Tesla tablet sucks. it looks cheap and the specs are way too low for that price. atleast with the nexus tablet you get better specs. I just purchased VLINE VL2 which adds android auto/apple carplay capability to the original radio/screen. I purchased a NISK touchscreen overlay to add touchscreen capabilities.

haveIt should be the same. The only difference I can see is if you end up wanting to display stock OEM screen on the tablet in which case I would ask that you look at the wiring harness that is plugged into the stock screen(navigation? bose?). Everything else should be the same.

@Miami_g37 I have a 2011 Anniversary Edition that has all the upgrades nav, sat radio, DVD, cold weather the whole nine yards. And I am still having the same problem y'all are having with the head unit. Yes mine has the bluetooth streaming but Pandora, IHeart whatever app you can think of limits the volume out to 50% and so have to have max volume. Now some of you would say why are you listening at max volume dumbass? This car competes in SPL competition, sound offs. Kinda hard to compete if I'm limited. By chance Miami_g37 have you experimented with other tablets or was the Nexus the only one that would work? Also I'm curious, attempted to add a front grill camera to the mix or adding the nissan wifi module so you dont have to use your phone? I really want to do this but wanted to pick your brain on the dog's and don'ts you have experienced.
