Why Architects Wear Black?

Just hearing it for the first time, i dress according to my activity for e.g i want to present to a client i dress cooperate no matter the colour.

Well, I must say, as an engineer, I like to keep things versatile, not just with my technical skills but also with my fashion choices. It's all about dressing appropriately for the occasion, you know? When I'm heading to a construction site, I'm all about practicality and safety. I'll throw on a sturdy pair of jeans, a rugged denim shirt, some trusty safety boots, a high-visibility vest, and a hard hat. I'm ready to take on any challenges that come my way, whether it's supervising the workers or inspecting the site. But when I'm meeting with a client, I know how to up my style game. I'll swap out the workwear for a sleek and professional suit, exuding confidence and sophistication. It's all about letting the client know that they're in good hands, and I'm ready to deliver excellence in every aspect of the project. Now, when it comes to meeting with architects, I like to keep things casual. Comfortable clothes that allow for easy movement and plenty of brainstorming. Who knows, maybe we'll even swap ideas over a friendly game of ping pong or pool. It's all about building a rapport and working together creatively.

As an old-school trained architect, I - we wear black because it more practical to hide dirt, ink stains and paints easily. We spend a lot of time messing around with drawing materials to finish our assignments up until seconds before we present our solutions/proposals to our “clients” aka professors. 😂
