That time is gone when people would just sit in theatres for 3 hours to see their heroes/heroines on screen. Now audience wants entertainment not celebrities. And movies with good screen writing and good acting/script has performed well in theatres like gangubai kathiawadi. I was thinking about this only, bollywood was at it's peak in the 90s and 00s, that was the pre internet era and people didn't have many options to choose from, now audience is getting relatable content and the internet is abundant so no one is interested in unrealistic bollywood movies anymore.
@yashchaphekar1232 жыл бұрын
It's not about realism. All the hit south indian films are highly unrealistic. I think the main factor is that audience has clearly categorized films as theatre films and ott films. We only prefer watching larger than life movies in cinemas and see the more realistic ones on Netflix. That's how it works and the industry has to adapt accordingly. Another HUGE factor is remakes, no one wants to see shitty remakes anymore.

The reason is Top 10% audience of India ( economy driven )aren't intersted in Bollywood or south either ,they now mostly prefer kdramas , animes , Hollywood, Spanish content . They have completely overlook the Indian content due to much Punjabi or non serious influence over Bollywood. The rest 90% hasn't evolved since past few years and even the changing lifestyle of 2000s being stopped among them which prefers more masala , Gunda cultured and traditional things They don't wanna get offended and are highly sensitive today . Even PK and dangal would have failed terrible today . Even most of the Bollywood music after 2012 are just Punjabi version with bhojpuri dance . The gap b/w 10% and 90% has increased drastically since 2010 . Hence both are living black- white contrast life .

One more point to add is that each of the south Indian stars have a core fan base and most of the southern super stars are down to earth people. As you're giving the examples of 2015 and 2016s movie but on that time less people were able to access media so it had not create a huge impact. I don’t agree with 5:30 Boycott point of yours. Boycott of Padmavat in 2017 with limited internet user, vs boycott in 2022 with most general population using internet has big difference. My friend (die-hard fan of Kareena kapoor, her entire lifestyle like way of talking or clothing is based on following Kareena) who was excited about Laal Singh Chadda didn’t watch the movie just because a boy (Taimur) whom she used to find cutest in world, now, after knowing the meaning of name, starts hating his parents, Kareena & Saif.

This time unfortunately LSC was a remake of a very famous Hollywood film with poor acting from Aamir. This is the actual reason for it's failure and boycott gang is taking credit for it. On the contrary this boycott thing gave publicity to the movie. If these paid campaigns were not run, it would have ended up becoming even bigger disaster.
@sunilkumarrath74052 жыл бұрын
1) Bollywood directors & producers opt for a tried & tested successful movie, but not a new one i.e. a remake of other language which downgrades its impression. 2) Bollywood story delivering is so poor now a days that they intentionally introduce an item song Or an actress which reveals too much body parts to attract young audience because their story, content, lyrics, song is so trash that nobody gonna watch it without introducing nudity. But, they should realise, arey they releasing a movie or porn? 3) Actors lack professionalism .. Akshay kumar making so many biopics without really preparing for that role... Salman, shahrukh act without getting into the role which is given to them, rather act as if they are assigned with real life roles. Only hrithik & aamir khan mold themselves according to the role. 4) Again movie lacks professionalism - Bolly movies are not based on the story, rather they are more commercialized. You can see in South, they chose the story & the acts & actors revolve around it which makes it interesting. But, in case of bollywood, you will see an item song, cheap comedy, unnecessary nudity irrespective of the story. Ex -: i) in movie like super 30 which is based on a teacher, his students, science... They introduced item song out of nowhere which is clearly unprofessional. ii) mission mangal - story is about mission mars of isro... There are so many out of the context scenes like vidya & her husband fight, vidya's son getting into hindu-muslim conflict, metro fight of ladies, akshay kumar making poori in a high-profile ISRO meeting! You can see Hollywood movies like titanic, anaconda... all of the scenes are related to movie story, no unnecessary scenes are added. In South also, movies like bahubali, rrr, pushpa, kgf all are strictly professional about the story which makes them successful. In my opinion, due to OTT, people are getting access to wider variety of movies from different languages. After watching extremely energetic, high profile professional movies in South India, korean & hollywood industries, they barely want to go to unprofessional commercialization oriented Bollywood movies!

Another fact I want to add, In the lockdown, hell lot of indians Including me, who were watching only 2 hours movie, got time to try multi episode series, be it anime, webseries, k drama, or any other thing. And one thing they have but movies don't, is story buildup and character development. It takes time and patience to explain, and one you are used to watching series which 2-4 hours to build up its story and characters for a great finale, you will not be entertained by 2 hour movie. I watched RRR and It had the Character development I wanted. And it was one of the best films to watch because in its 3 hour duration, it took me through so many ups and downs. Being a South Indian who speaks Hindi quite fluently, I've noticed that many Hindi movie channels often aired dubbed Telugu, Tamil and Kannada movies. The weird part was that the dubbed movies had already been remade in Hindi with big stars in the lead. A good example is "Vikramarkudu", despite this film being remade in Hindi as "Rowdy Rathore" and years passing after it's release I still see Vikramarkudu or the kannada remake of Vikramarkudu play in dub. Perhaps the satellite rights of dubbed south Indian movies are cheaper than Bollywood's, but this has helped the regular Bollywood audience get accustomed to watching dubbed films, which has opened up an entire new world of cinema for them. Not to mention the perfect timing of mammoth films like Baahubali, KGF, RRR and Pushpa, no wonder recent Bollywood films felt underwhelming in comparison. This might change as there were a few duds from the south as of late( "Liger" I am looking at you) and Brahmastra does look promising. Will Bollywood bounce back? Only time will tell

Reasons why Bollywood is getting rejected by Public 👍🏻 1 Overdose of Remakes 2 Anti Hindu agenda 3 Nepotism 4 Love Storiyan all the time in every film 5 Illogical Story's 6 Depends on Star power instead of Story 7 Casting Arjun Kapoor 8 Try to make intentional controversy for movie promotion 9 Not giving importance to writers 10 For some maker's Movie is just tool to convert Black money to while like Secret Superstar flop in India but earned 1k cr in china. 11 Lack of Conviction, like Akshay Kumar misuse of being superstar by singing avarage 5 to 6 movies a year 12 Too many songs 13 Inspiration ke naam pe copy paste and mixture of 2-3 different movies 14 Bad VFX and editing 15 False Marketing of the movie but in reality it's disappointing 16 Most Important reason we don't have an option earlier now there is way better option of South Movies which also respect cultures of India. 17 Ego of stars like Khan's and Kapoor's 18 Heavy fees of these stars actors 19 Drugs, casting couch and dark side of bollywood. 20 finally public got smart and they can see all these hidden agendas, underworld connections, nepotism, personal benifits of makers, dominance of these movie mafias, ignoring outsiders and talent like SSR and many more.... To dekhana hi nahi hai yeh sab 👍🏻
